    Hey thanks for showing us how to do the work when we don't have the specific release tool. Nice approach using jeweler screwdrivers. Sorta concerned me, but you got thru the task with ease. Really like how you emphasized the separation of the plastic bodies by looking at the construction of the pieces. Watching a bunch of these, and yours is definitely value added.

      @@AutomotiveDiagnosisI have a question for you. How do you attach a replacement pin onto a wire, would a heat shrink crimper work? That’s all I have near me right now…
      I am under my steering wheel typing this comment right now, and just took off 20 pins from a connector of the wiring harness with the brake lights as one of the pinned wires next to the brake pedal.
      The Honda Dealership that I brought the car in to fix the brake lights(the first time) put the pin in backwards/upside down so that it wouldn’t lock into place , and that pin hole on the plastic connector melted around the pin. Lol. I am about to reattach all the pins into the replacement plastic connector that I got from a junkyard.

    • @AutomotiveDiagnosis
      @AutomotiveDiagnosis  Před rokem

      Normally part number is for the whole fuse box not only for the pins. I think you can go for another option too which is finding a pre-owned fuse box which has all the pins inside.

      Hi there, sorry mate, I don’t have any video for that right now. But connectors are mostly the same as I showed them in the video. Watch the video and see how you can reach to the locking tabs to release the pins and take them out. Shouldn’t be very complicated, I’m sure you can do it.

    I have a connector on a Japanese motorcycle I need to remove because the wire broke. It is similar but different. I believe that it has a center part that needs to come out first. My question is where can you buy the particular pin to fix it? Thank for giving me an idea about this process and the close up camera work on the pins was really good.

    • @AutomotiveDiagnosis
      @AutomotiveDiagnosis  Před rokem

      Hi there, thanks for your comment. Most of the time I have many pins from the previous jobs and I try to keep them all as it is not very easy sometimes to find the pins. But generally there are some packs of different terminals in the market that can be helpful. But of course you need to make sure that your pin in included in the pack.

      @@AutomotiveDiagnosis I went to two different computer shops and could not find it. I also learned how to take this apart a little too late, but I made it work. It's probably just a temporary repair. I give it 50/50 lasting. This is on a Japanese dirt bike and it's an unique connector, so no one will have it

    • @AutomotiveDiagnosis
      @AutomotiveDiagnosis  Před rokem +2

      Some pin removal tools are designed for this situation, using those tools, you can push the pin out at the same time when you release the pin lock, if you don’t have that tool, simply use a small screw drawer to release the lock, and another one to push the pin out.
