The Teal Mask DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet has been released, and one of the coolest discoveries about it is that there seems to be a new, secret Pokemon within the DLC that you don't get to see. However, there is a huge amount of evidence that potentially reveals the identity of this Pokemon, and that it will be revealed to us soon, and that's what this video is all about! I hope you enjoy!

Canonically, the DLC events happened before you became a champion. But yes, the player will likely usually have a fairly high leveled team and all that.

From the first moment kieran got introduced in mybdlc playhtrough. I reqlly loved his character only to watch him get angry and more hostile as it went on. It was very heartbreaking to me. Very interested in seeing how his story develops from here.

Idk how I didn't notice that the Indigo Disk key art with the BB League members showed Kieran with his face turned away, it was clear foreshadowing
When I first saw Dipplin (who I kept mis pronouncing as dripplin) I thought it seemed small for an evolution but I feel Kieran’s villain arc may provide us with a evolution of my favorite apple!
I have another reason why it might be Kieran in the trailer, because the way he held the pokeball facing towards him and bringing it up like how he throws it out in the teal mask dlc
When I saw that end cutscene of Kieran going mad. Since it looks like he's gonna be Obsessed with beating your trainer now. My first thought was Dipplin evolving.
The name resembled Applin, said theres 2 in 1 apple, but we really only see the one, so Dipplin evolving is something that's probably happening.
It would be really cool if Dipplin gets an evolution, and I suspect that it will, for one additional reason besides what's in this video: its design. Compared to Flapple and Appletun, Dipplin looks likes it's incomplete. Like, I thought it was either a regional variant or convergent evolution to Applin when I first saw it. Plus, the fact thay there's two dragon worms compaosing te body, but both seem to be identical to the worm inside an Applin, makes it feel like tjey still gave room to grow into something more formidable. So I'm hoping that this possible new evolution will technically be a Pseudo Legendary once the next DLC comes out.

I don't believe Kieren was 'obsessed' with beating the protagonist; he was more angry that you had kept the secret of meeting Ogrepon from him. Sure he might have been obsessed with Ogrepon, but not you. The anger gets even worse once you get to capture the one pokemon he wanted more than any other. Poor kids going through all 5 stages of grief for this mon. In the dlc I honestly wish I could have given Ogrepon to Kieren and call it quites just to replay the game, send myself another one, and just keep on going

My theory is that Kieran is going to be the champion of BB Academy and his ace is going to be the Dipplin evolution that will look like the caduceus symbol of Medicine like a leaker said.

Theory: Dipplin will evolve into a 2 headed dragon. Dipplin is two different creatures that share the same candy apple they both live in. Those 2 creatures will have an appearance of Flapple and Appletun's heads with Dipplin's Syrupy Apple as the body.
I think so too as the top head has some resemblance to Flapple

I feel bad for Kieran’s mental health
Dipplin getting an evo and being Kieran's ace as Champion would also play into how many Champions use a pseudo-legendary as their ace; Dipplin's evo functionally becoming the Kitakami/Blueberry Academy pseudo-legendary would fit there
Also considering that Appletun and Flapple have a Gmax form, makes sense that Dipplin would get something else.
But then again, I'm still skeptical.

Here's a video idea, how about making more Toxic Chain pokemon? One small piece of lore I loved in the DLC was that the "Loyal" Three used to be small pokemon whose desires got granted by the mysterious pokemon codenamed Dokutaro by giving them each a toxic chain. These chains are fascinating items because they seem capable of altering the physical traits and even the intelligence of their wearer, but since it's still poison it might corrupt them as well. One idea could be a Bagon that was too impatient to evolve into Salamence so Dokutaro gave it a Toxic Chain with the ability to fly, but it corrupted it and now it attacks any other flying pokemon because it wants to rule the sky.
I feel like it's going to be a poison apple evolution. It would fit perfectly AND convey his obsession with power/self corruption.
I would love if he becomes champion it would be cool to battle him on the same rank

I think Dipplin being coded to evolve in the Teal Mask is a result of it intending to be a convergent version of Applin, complete with at least one evo, but thanks to perhaps artist's block the idea got scrapped and Dipplin became an actual Applin evo instead. However, the devs forgot to remove the evo flag for Dipplin, which can happen to any dev especially under crunch, and here we are
That's just my own theory, with perhaps the only thing against it is the datamine mentioned in the vid, but I suppose all we have to do is wait until we learn whether or not Dipplin is intended to have this evo flag, be it by the time we get the Indigo Disc DLC (implying that the flag is intended to be there to get people hooked on the Indigo Disk DLC) *or* the evo flag for Dipplin gets patched out (implying that it was unintentional)

The only thing I know is that both Kieran and Carmine strongly need therapy. They have some serious psychological issues. 😶

I HATE that I had to beat him in order to get Ogrepon, because he more than deserved it and I wouldn't have had an issue actually handing it to him if the game gave me that option after catching it, but alas, I'm excited what the next DLC offers for me with his character and hopefully Dipplin because I love that stupid thing.
Even if the option was there to give it to him, he would've likely had never taken it. He has a fair bit of an inferiority complex and wants to prove to others that he's strong. If Ogerpon was just handed to him, then he'd think that we were taking pity on him, you get me?

Hey wait did you notice the Kieran, Carmine, and Drayton have the same eyes. Could all three be related? It does make sense since two of them have dragon-types as their partner: Drayton has Archaludon and Kieran has Dipplin

I remember first seeing dipplin and thought it was quite the underwhelming evolution that looks just like applin so if we do actually get another evolution where both the worms pop out would be cool.
I was thinking about Dipplin evolving after realizing it could benefit from Eviolite.

It would be ironic if when you head to blueberry academy that he has become so much stronger that he's the champion of the academy. This is based on the fact that he along with his sister both wear a glove on their left hand just like that picture of the hand of the champion for the academy that you showed in a previous video.
There's also a theory that I've come to about his sister. With the way she talks. She's either the academy champion or runs some sort of evil team, because She's always trying to get you to be her grunt while she's in charge.
Kieran is about to be this franchise's version of Sunny from Omori
I would love if all Applins evos converge in the same final Evolution, but each one has a different ability like their Gigantamax who is the same as well, I name it Diflappletun

People do say that dipplin could not evo due to stats when duruladon (can't spell) has even higher stats and can evolve.
To be honest here no npc can beat a player even the npc will have 100 lvl pokemon

My prediction on what it’s evolution will be is essentially a blueberry apple pie. I think it’ll work well with the theming of Blueberry Academy!

I believe that dipplin is also Two creatures in one pokemon or something like that according to the pokedex.
Carmine had the same bag as Kieran and this mysterious champion, so I'm guessing that's Blueberry Academy's standard issue student bag.

It's already been stated that Kieran and his sister and the photographer lady will all play a part in your adventure in part 2 of the dlc, so in a way yes Kieran would be a antagonist
