- The main purpose of any Pokemon game is to catch em' all, but there are also some special Pokemon out there that you CAN'T catch as well! In this video, I'm going to be covering 10 such Pokemon that are not available to catch in the games, despite them being unique Pokemon of their own. I hope you enjoy!

Magikarp Jump could be a Switch game with Pokémon HOME compatibility, let's tell the truth.
It would of been a great way get regional forms of Magikarp
If I had money, I would pay an artist to evolve those Magikarp into Gyarados that connect to the Magikarp.
I’m betting these Magikarp variants would also have their own variants of Gyarados or something more unique to each form if the Pokémon Company would give their artists the time to design and create them. A Pokémon fan can dream, can’t he?
@@AndrewHager02
Yeah or even a split evolution into something else 👀
@@Rossmaclellan101 Can you imagine what kind of unique evolved forms these differently colored and patterned variations would look like?
They should absolutely have the magikarp jump and kecleon variants in a main series game
It would be really cool if the magikarp evolved into gyarados that had the same colors. I would love a koi fish colored sea serpent.
I like to think that the baby Nidoran is us getting to see an infant version of them before sexual dimorphism started appearing. Like how human babies look pretty similar until they grow up a bit
It honestly makes me wonder how does that work with them being listed as separate species
@@kociarzultimate384 My head canon is that the line is drawn with their evolution lines being so different. I believe they are the only case of both the evolution lines and their physical attributes being different.
It's also possible that Pokémon can breed in multiple ways. What they do in the Daycare clearly isn't sexual reproduction but it's possible wild Pokémon could do that too
@@M_Alexanderthe daycare is 100% sexual reproduction lol, it's incredibly obvious
There’s an issue with the book in general. Blue is female and purple is male, but the male has female eyes… sooooooooo I wouldn’t trust it in general.
Considering Scarlet and Violet's whole thing is crystals I thought for sure Crystal Onix would be a regional variant or at least be referenced in some way.
It has nothing to do with crystals
@@elfilin-to6dh no
@@elfilin-to6dh got naught to do with terapagos
@@elfilin-to6dh what do you mean the final boss
@@elfilin-to6dh yes I did what a silly question to ask
Kecleon don't really _come_ in multiple colors so much as they can _turn_ any color, being chameleon-based and all. In fact, the lore is that they can change color on any part of their body except that zig-zagged band around the abdomen, which is why that part's the part that's a different color on the shiny.
It's also like Arceus that (I think) they use the color to represent their type
@@belovedwarrior3192
They don't, but they should
Primal Dialga doesn't really have anything to do with Groundon and Kyogre. The name "Primal" itself was just a localization change. It's called "Yami no Dialga" in japanese, which roughly translates to Dialga of Darkness or Dark Dialga.
It doesn't have anything to do with Shadow Pokémon either. They're called "Dark Pokémon" in Japan, but they use the english word for it.
i kinda wish that some artists would draw some evolutions for those Magikarps either variants for Gyrados or brand new ones, sounds like it could be cool :D
Hey, I never expected another part of this!
4:28 I always used to think the Purple Kecleon was Shiny Kecleon, until I actually saw Shiny Kecleon lol
Your 1st
@@Bluecupcake_funko7let's go!, I would have never expected something like this to happen to me 😂
It should have been the shiny.
I always keep forgetting that the Purple Kecleon isn't the shiny or even the Pink Butterfree
I'd bet a few pokedollars that GameFreak originally intended Kecleon to change color based on what type it turned into with its ability but they either couldn't get it to work or it was cut for time. The ability is literally called "Color Change" after all (even in Japan, so it's not just a localization thing), it would make complete sense and give an actual in-game indicator of what type it currently is rather than just needing to remember it. Plus Gen3 was the generation that first introduced forms, so having a pokemon that could change color during battle would fit right alongside Castform changing shape / type with weather and the Deoxys forms.
It's a shame they never went back and revised Kecleon to take on that trait. Now we have a handful of different pokemon that change color based on their type, but the chameleon pokemon with an ability named "Color Change" isn't one of them. And its probably too little too late at this point now that Kecleon has a second ability in Protean, because changing the color of its sprite definitely seems like a unique gimmick that would lock its ability much like all the other pokemon that can do similar things.
A fun thing about Bonsly appearing in Pokemon XD is that you actually *could* battle with it in the Battle Bingo side activity. If you got the Bonsly card (as was actually shown in the footage for XD) you could play the game and use Bonsly as your Pokemon for it, coming with the move Rock Slide.
@6:45 Just so you know, Wonder Guard doesn't block passive damage, which is common in competitive Pokémon, so Ma-Jinn wouldn't be as strong as some of you are probably thinking.
depends on what moves it can learn and its HP stat. Like Shedinja is just garbo cause it has 1 HP but if Ma-Jinn has at least a semi solid HP stat and moves like Recover or Rest it could be near unstoppable. Rest, Sunny Day/Rain Dance would make it very hard to kill pre-Fairy without the person using it to deliberately throw the match.
@@Blossemfall I'm not saying it wouldn't be immediately broken; but rather that noobs going in with Ma-Jinn and expecting to get a 100% win rate would be in for a nasty surprise when it gets hit with Toxic, a perish trap, et cetera…
@@Blossemfall Majin’s learnset is Crunch, Dual Chop, Slack Off, and Swords Dance meaning yes it does have a form of self healing which is annoying
They SHOULD include those magikarp. I mean why not? Vivillon and Alcremie have tons of forms
so true
They don't need to match the pattern for the Gyarados. Just match the color scheme, for instance the one that was white with a orange mark on it's head evolve into a Gyarados that has it's main color be white and the secondary one be orange
If you make another part, you could mention the pink female Butterfree from the Anime. This possible fairy type pokemon never made her way into the games.
Imagine pink Butterfry gets retconned to be a regional variant
Dr. Lava recently posted about the Designs of Vullaby and Mandibuzz's eggshell and skirt being the 2 parts of one skull. Although, the skull doesnt seem to line up with and current Pokemon designs.
Someone probably already mentioned this, but you can use Bonsly in the Battle Bingo game at the Battle Tower. You just can’t keep it.
When I first played Pokemon Diamond when I found out Burmy had a Trash Cloak and a Sand Cloak from, I thought it was really weird that Burmy didn't have a Snow Cloak form in the snowy part of Sinnoh.
Even now I think it was SUCH a missed opportunity.
(When I first said this, someone pointed out that apparently this apparently could not work at all. I only thought it would of been cool to see especially that Burmy didn't get any other cloak forms after Gen 4)
With Shadow Mewtwo being unobtainable, I like the think because its a Legendary it's heart is too dark to allow itself to be captured. In Pokemon Acerus, it was hinted that Legendary Pokemon allow themselves to be captured, as was the case with the Weather Trio/Quartet when Cogito said they were allowing themselves to travel with the player. Yes, you have to best them in battle most times so they will submit, but it explains how there can only be one in a game's universe, its the fact when its done with the trainer, it can leave. Shadow Mewtwo in spite of being beaten refuses this and will never partner with a trainer.
Calyrex explicitly stated that stronger Legendary Pokémon let themselves be captured back in SwSh as well.
With the kecleon, I believe that the second one just changed it's color. Kecleon has the ability color change and in the Pokedex, it says that it can freely change it's color. The ability just changes the type to the type of the attack that hit it. You even need a special item to get past an invisible one.
4:19 Hey, I recognize that footage! No way can I not recognize Chamomile and Willow of Team Rose Thorn courtesy of a Chuggaaconroy
(would've appreciated proper credit given where it's due as far as game footage goes, tho)
13:01
Hmmm
A Jolteon and a Teddiursa
Another classic shadow Lugia
I really like the baby Nidoran.
Also, am I the only one who thought that that Clefairy from the manga looks kinda like nightmare fuel?
Yeah, baby nidoran should have been catchable Pokemon in the games
That might add some cuteness to the nidoran line
I think that Crystal Onix just ended up becoming the inspiration for Steelix since Steelix, according to Gold and Silver's pokedex, is formed in a similar fashion.
Mega steelix has crystals around it. Crystal onix could be an onix that was ready to evolve. It was alread weak to fire moves and not so weak to water.
There are certainly many of these. For example, you can't catch "Douno" either, even though this pre-evolution of Doduo and Dotrio is mentioned in the Pokedex.
Which game?
Which Pokedex??
@@CoolBlueHippo none of the main series games
What are you talking about?
the baby nidoran are so adorable
I'm actually surprised that the other forms of magikarp didn't appear in the main games or even the anime which is known for giving us those moments, really surprised they didn't do that since journey litterally did a full on episode based off of magikarp jump, should've added all the different forms in the anime in that episode, sure would've love to see goh even catching all of the different magikarp as well
Honestly the Magikarp variants being available in the mainline games would be iconic. Give me a fishing competition in the vein of the bug catching contest and score the Magikarp by size and pattern. That'd be a great way to kill time, work on a collection, grind for rare or exclusive prizes, etc.
this is exactly the kind of stuff i love about pokemon. keep it up
Baby Nidoran looks awfully a lot like Maushold/Tandemaus doesn't it? Don't remember which one it is but yeah
maushold a little bit yeah
Aw baby nidoran is so cute
To this day, there’s a talking Gastly that haunts me with his unobtainable Venustoise.
It may be just me, but I get the idea that the ultimate weapon was made out of the same crystals responsible for the main gimmick and events in Scarlet and Violet. Kalos and Paldea aren't very far from one another after all and it wouldn't be a stretch to assume the material that made the ultimate weapon came from there
Thank you for mentioning the Crystal Onix. This was a Pokémon I have wanted to appear in the main series games ever since they brought in regional variants. This could exist by changing its typing and evolution methods. Even making it a Paradox Pokemon would have been acceptable if you don’t want it to evolve. I’m surprised to learn the other Kecleon colors from TCG. Along with the Purple Kecleon in the anime and Mystery Dungeon games, I would assume this was an idea for Kecleon’s Color Change ability which would have physically change its color depending the type. Meaning we would’ve gotten various Kecleon forms at the time. Maybe they couldn’t do it at the time or it was just scraped but kept the artwork that was repurposed. It’s not like we have Pokémon with a multitude of forms. (Spinda and Alcremie)
Love creative content like that, keep up the good work!
THANK YOU for Primal Dialga!!! I absolutely love Primal Dialga as mystery dungeon time darkness and sky games are my favourite pokemon games
I'm surprised no Blue's Eevee that can evolve into any eeveelution and revert at will.
Really appreciate ur commitment and dedication to ur vedios cuz we all know that gathering all these facts takes a lot of time research and time, so thank you for taking ur time just for our enjoyment and excitement ❤
Damn. Can’t believe its been 175. Been watching every Tuesday for apparently 175 weeks lol. Keep them coming
The red movie "humanoid" monster thing puts out vibes of that old pokemon creepypasta I can't remember the name of that people said could come for you in lavender tower. i also always figured it and red monster were the same, just it has a Humanoid form
Oh yes ! The fresh meat one
Bonsly crying makes me wanna cry… it’s so cute
Thank you so much for all videos you made. You are one of my absolutely best youtubers ever. :)
Jsi borec. Mám moc rád tvoji tvorbu.
Pretty cool! It would be cool if they made a way to transfer the different majikarp from majikarp jump to hone.
You mentioned Shadow Mewtwo but I would love to have been able to catch the Armored Mewtwo that appeared in the anime. I loved that look and even though I'm glad that Mewtwo broke free from it I still liked the look
You did get something wrong, fairy type was introduced in gen 6, not gen 5. Gen 5 was black and white, fairy type was introduced in X&Y which is gen 6
In the Pokémon Anime Episode, “Bye Bye, Butterfree!”, there is a Pink Butterfree that falls in love with Ash’s Butterfree! This one might be more iconic than Crystal Onix! How have you not mentioned it yet?!
Love your videos bro big fan 💯 🙏
1:59 lol the purple Nidoran is depicted with eyelashes, which indicates it as a female, so goes to the blue one 🤣😅
It also appears that they also accidentally switched the genders of the Nidoran parents.
I am still hoping that in time, crystal type would be introduced
Afterall it's pretty epic to see many pokemon we know have an crystal type brother
The anime also confirmed that crystal type would be weak to fire and immune to water
Which is very interesting as well
As for the glass Cannon, I'm not sure, some that would work, others might be more like diamond or other harder type crystals, meaning they are defense wise way stronger
I would love crystal type to be real,it's real in the anime, sure only in one episode, but that's enough to comfirm it's an existing type
I love that too and since some crystals are fragile like glass. Maybe have Crystal type Pokemon be a "Glass Cannon" kind of Pokemon where they are powerful but their HP suffers as a result. Also since Fairy is the "Light" type and crystals can manipulate light. Maybe have them be strong or even immune to that type
@@belovedwarrior3192 an interesting idea with fairy, an new type trio.
Fairy is stronger to dragon, dragon is stronger to crystal and crystal is stronger to fairy
While fairy is immune to dragon, dragon is immune to crystal and crystal js immune to fairy XD
6:22 that’s where Soak Lanturn comes into play.
Question considering that I haven’t seen part 1 yet, has Munchlax in the OG Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Red and Blue been mentioned and would it count as a Pokémon you Can’t Catch?
Tyranitar is based off of Godzilla, and both MT and Iron Thorns are based off of Mecha Godzilla, so yes and no in your theory.
Toho in general is highly influencal in Pokémon, from it's origins, to the fact they are producers of the Anime.
Great vid
Honestly, Pokemon Cafe Remix would be the perfect spot to introduce brand new Pokemon from a new generation without letting you play with them.
Special events of a "Foreign Customer" from a new region arriving to the Cafe during the hype train of new generations. They have a special challenge order minigame or whatever included.
Then again no one cares for Cafe Remix but ya know.
I mean, Kecleon can be whatever color it wants whenever it wants
I remeber seeing bosly on an old magazine as a kid it had me super intrigued
"The most infamous anime exclusive Pokemon that is not yet catchable in the games... the crystal Onix."
*Pink Butterfree has left the chat*
Those pokestae studio creatures sure are a head scratcher
that clefairy is fuckin cursed looking no matter what form it's in
I like to imagine that each Gyarados evolved from a Jumpikarp would have their own specisl colors
Unfortunately untrue if you actually do it though... (It's possible to evolve in Jump, but it's not a good thing there.)
@@TheRedSmarty well there's always the animwe that could give us thier own special colors, but did they do that? nope missed opportunity since the anime is known to make varients as well
Just a little correction. Fairy type was introduced in gen 6, not 5
6:38
Fairy-Type was introduced in Gen. 6 (X&Y)
Yes 💯 facts about the crystal Onix well said
Just FYI, you can get Shadow MewTwo in Pokemon Go. It isn't quite as boosted as maybe it should be, but it does exist and you can catch it
That's just corrupted Mewtwo
And it is not a main series game
In pokemon anime , we have alread seen baby forms of first stage pokemon that are actually just small forms of those pokemon.
I've usually ignored most of the side games in the main series games, like the contests etc. and focused mostly on the main gameplay, so I never fought these cinema Pokemon. Those were cool to see. I also hope Crystal Onix will become a thing someday...
6:37 "and dark/ghost is a typing that had no weaknesses prior to the fairy type being introduced in *gen 5."*
Fairy was gen 6....
@@zach6395that’s what he’s pointing out genius
@@zach6395 i was pointing it out ik it came out in gen 6, he said gen 5 in the video
Well if we are including the manga, theres quite a few pokemon that cant be obtained thats only from the pokemon adventures manga that you can add to part 3:
- Red's reverse evolving eevee
- Blue's green gyarados
- Zapmolcuno
- Diamond's Torterra that knows the move "Dia's Mach One and Only Razor Leaf" (yes thats the name and its basically a grass type priority move)😅
Great video
6:43 - The Fairy type was added in Gen 6, not Gen 5.
4:11 - Kecleon is based on a chameleon and is capable of changing its colour, and it can even make itself virtually invisible using that camouflage ability... Though it struggles to change the zig-zag pattern on its midsection, which is why that's what's used to tell if it's shiny or not. So, really, the green and yellow on Kecleon could be virtually any combination of colours on any individual Kecleon. They just never change from the "default" colours in the main series games.
...I do wish that that were rectified in some capacity. It's unlikely, though.
Part of me now wishes that they have Crystal Onyx in the game as a regional variant. Maybe have it as an Ice/Rock or Ice/Ground type would work well for this Pokemon. Then they could make this as a sort of story arc
I believe the actual inspiration for tyranitar's mecha versions would be mechagodzilla and that they kept that idea since tyranitar is one of the godzilla based pokemon
Yeah like if it belonged to the professor. So it's something we could see in his office and maybe talk to but not one we would be able to interact with. Like we couldn't battle it cuz it wouldn't belong to somebody we're going to fight. It would belong to somebody who's an ally but you know they're not battling us
Fun fact: The "Mystery" type has no weaknesses. An Arceus hacked to have this type is legit the most powerful/broken Pokémon in existence.
7:29 did it hurt when you made that stretch? Unpainted silver is not near identical to black paint.
Pretty sure the baby Nidoran were just small Nidoran as the quote used suggests by literally calling them Nidoran. There's no suggestion of a seperate pokemon here.
That’s what I was thinking
When you were going towards crystal onix, first anime exclusive mon i thought of was baby lugia, not onix lol
10:40 actually it could still happen because Primo Dialga isn't considered as a primo evolution in Japan cause his name there is just Dark Dialga
Edit: fairy type was not introduced until gen 6. Gen 5 was the generation stated in this video.
Battling with Bonsly before Gen IV was so hype
4:55 I always assumed these different colors of Kecleon are Kecleon that assumed different types by their signature ability. It is called "Color Change" after all.
6:47 "[...]the Fairy Type being introduced in Gen 5." - That's a bold claim.
8:00 I don't understand this: Why can't we catch the Pokéstar Studios things? Because they are (even within the Pokémon World) fiction. They aren't real. You cannot obtain what doesn't exist.
I wanna give an honorable mention to ALL Orange Island varients. 13:05 I'd ccunt that as an honarable mention rather than 100% can't catch them cos you can get them in Gen 4.
In the manga, there is also a jellyfish-like pokemon. The main character even catches it.
This was a translation error, but I recall an NPC in Gen 1 talking about their Raichu Evolving after trading. It could also be worth mentioning because a Raichu evolution was initially planned but omitted before red/green.
Imagine if the magikarp was programmed into the next few games as variants and only one exclusive per cartridge
Those movie villains could very well be Digimon :D
Lucario was mentioned in mistery dungeon
They should make a new type..
Crystal type...its weak to water and fire resistant while being neutral to other types..they could add the crystal onix to that type aswell as some other pokemon (like sableye for example)
I think thats a neat idea
Imma call the evil clefable clefarious... first form is clefoe....
It's dark Dialga
The only Primal Pokémon is Groudon and Kyogre
Let's not forget there's also the Pinkan Island variation of pokemon you ONLY see in the anime!! As well as the ones from Valencian island!! Where's all the cute Pink pokemon and Valencian Butterfree?!?? GameFreak give us the good stuff!! 💔😭😭😭💔
Regarding having future Pokemon like Bonsly and Munchlax appearing to hype up the next installments, didn't they do that with Galarian Slowpoke in the SM series?
yes and no. instead of an entirely new mon, it's just slowpoke again but with yellow on him.. it was kind of anti-hype
Yeah, it couldn't evolve, didn't work with Eviolite, and I think the only new move it got was Sludge. Overall meh.
2:01 they're so cute! 😍
9:45 evil Clefairy is very creepy
8:02 am I the only one that when heard the word "shadow" automatically thought "here comes the shadow raid legends sponsoooor"????
I kinda wish that Ho'Oh had remained uncatchable. Same with Togepi.
I just started playing jump couple weeks ago, really fun time waster, got one shiny :)
Ive always wondered if crystal onix was made a catchable pokemon, would it keep its rock typing and become a dual type, or become something entirely different.
Regular Onix is a dual-type already, being Rock/Ground. The first pure Rock-type was Johto's Sudowoodo.
Crazy but in the time of the Pokemon PokeGod rumors like PikaBlu I seen Kecleon in a Japanese show and we didnt know it was Kecleon at that time in the US so I thought it was Celebi's evolution I thought it was so cool.
Shadow mewtwo is obtainable in pokemonGo as a catchable mon; can’t be out in home but is obtainable
The kecleon one, it’s a chameleon , I always assumed it changes colors like chameleons
I wonder if the movie opponents had shinys? Also would the catch trainer pokemon GameShark code let you catch them?
