This south African government is somehow irresponsible, they always goes against expert advices, especially in the military. They were told before this sad deployment that soldiers will be in danger without proper air cover. They ignore that. They have been told almost every day that they must consider increasing the defence budget but instead the reduce it. When they are asked for military assistance, they go running without sufficient resources putting the lives of soldiers in danger. Maybe they need some awareness training on how the military work. Because they deploy soldiers like they deploying teachers in the classroom, the battlefield is no classrooms.😢

Because you, Rwandan operatives don't understand what SADC stands for.
You think anything is authorized for you: killing civilians in their own countries, assassinating opposition leaders in other countries (like SA), raping women and kids, coming into other's channels and trying to influence while killing SA soldiers...
      Rwandan, you are bad people.

The only president who understood something about military wasThabo Mbeki he sufficiently equip them during his term, but those resources are not maintained by subsequent administration, they are rotting out there while soldiers are being deployed and get killed out there. After Thabo Mbeki Zuma administration canceled and order of 8 Airbus Heavy lift aircraft just because was ordered by the previous president. Nothing was done there after, the same administration sent soldiers to central Africa but could not reinforce when our soldiers were ambushed there cause we lack mid air refuel system, thereby the gripens has to stop several times to refuel on the ground, by the time they arrive 14 soldiers were dead, so today President mourning the death of our soldiers, is not enough if as cic he not Gonna capacitate the men in uniform, cause we still going to morn more death. Not that as citizens we don't see, maybe that is why they got 40%

Maybe our government thinks in the battlefield opposing forces will simply run away because there are south African soldiers there, wrong, we are exposed. We loosing credibility. Nothing is working in the defence force not even the simple barracks. Remember the battle of bangui, central Africa, they don't want to spent on equipments but always jumps to deploy soldiers.

They don't think at all. This is the problem. I think they get bits and pieces of advice from outside (London based) consulting firms and then implement them haphazardly without any understanding of what they are supposed to achieve.

What is DRC army doing...? Does it exist? Are you aware SADF that you are also dealing with over 204 rebel groups on the ground in DRC. Why only SADF Soldiers are dying while working alongside DRC & UN Forces...? Are you not being killed by DRC Soldiers who are with you? 🤔

The issue isn't even about unequipped military. SADEC should stop fighting m23 all together. The only solution to this problem will be a political one. Don't they remember that they chased away m23 in 2012 , Only to risen again with better equipment and well organised ? These are people who are fighting for the right to live. The Rwandaphones problem in congo has been there since the colonial times. it has only intensified during the 1990s . Even if SADEC forces were to defeat m23 , they would be back again because the roots causes of this problem would still be there . Congo calls them Rwandans but there ancestors have been there even before it's independence. Because of the hate speach against these Rwandaphones around 400 hundred thousands of them have fled to Rwanda and Uganda.
Unless the DRC government accepts them as their citizens, they will always be fighting for that right .
Don't people understand how dangerous it is to fight a people who are defending their right to exist? What do they have to lose? I am really sorry to say this but those soldiers died in a war which later on SADEC will realise that it was unnecessary.
