fun fact: diseases like dementia and alzheimer’s don’t affect the part of the brain that processes music. music therapy is extremely beneficial for memory care patients.
I wish I had known this prior to my mother passing from Dementia
@@itstheundisputedsagbooso sorry for your loss❤️I recently lost my mother so I know it’s hard
@@SophiaMartinez588 Thank you & yea some days are harder than others, she’s always been a beautiful soul. I’m thankful that she’s no longer suffering tho & my condolences to you & your family as well. 💐
I love how they included actual Mexican artists that passed away in the land of the dead. It was a treat seeing Frida, Pedro Infante, etc…
"How can this dog see this?"
It's been said that both animals AND babies/small children are able to sense the supernatural a lot easier than older humans can
ahh, I’ve heard that somewhere. thanks for the clarification!
@@sl_1k You're welcome
Also, because the denizens of the Land of the Dead aren't human anymore; "normal physics" no longer apply to them.
This means their bodies (thanks to the animators) can behave and function in ways they couldn't when they were alive
“ what are they saying? I am black” for some reason was the funniest thing I had to pause and rewatch that part. Had me dying laughing for ten minutes
🤣🤣🤣🤣appreciate you!
It was honestly so stupid 😂 so was the napkin comment. Dude just seems uneducated. I haven’t gotten much into it yet tho. Hopefully it gets better.
its so fun to see someone experiencing my culture for the first time as a black and hispanic person lmao!
Hella love for the latina people y'all are some cool people man I rock with y'all the strong way
At the end when they show Hector crossing the bridge he has on better clothes and now he actually has his own pair of shoes, a big contrast from the beginning. Also, more on De la Cruz. He cannot 'die' the same way we do here, and he can't be forgotten yet because his legacy still lives in the living world so most likely he's just going to stay trapped under that bell until someone lets him free, and even if he's let free, he is most definitely going straight to jail. Eventually he would probably be forgotten though.
6:06 the outfit? That's what mariachi usually wear whenever they perform. Is part of a Mexican tradition. However is also an uniform.
Oh and the shoe? Is call a chancla which could be seen as the equivalent of hitting you with a belt.
54:44 exactly! The way that mexicans live life and they enjoy living so much is because they are very aware of the death, and they see it as another way to reconect with those who are not here anymore. In other cultures people treats death as something taboo, but I really love how mexicans approach death
5:53 Oh also the napkins are not napkins, it is called “papel picado” it is used to bring color to the altars and the streets on the day of the dead.🙌🏼
Ahhh okay, that’s fire!
Out of the songs in this movie, my favorite is "Un Poco Loco", which translates to "a little crazy". Also, speaking as a Mexican-American, this movie is pretty factual to real-life preparations/mythos for El Dia De Los Muertos, or the Day Of The Dead. Especially with Dante's role. As a breed of dog called a Xoloitzquintli (zo-low-eats-queent-lee), he has a role of being a spirit guide through the afterlife.
Ahhhh okay, that’s fire! I like that “un poco loco” song lmao ( I have no idea what it means though)
@@sl_1k It basically states that the artist is so in love with somebody that they've gone a bit nuts and nothing really makes sense anymore
@@rainbowpegacornstudios hmm.. sounds like my personal life 😭
@@sl_1k
It gets better, my dude.
1. Also, Mama Imelda sang a song about La Llorona, the ghost of a woman who drowned her children in a jealous rage after she discovered that her husband was being unfaithful to her.
2. Being raised in a Mexican-American household, a sandal AKA a chancla is a discipline tool. The chancla comes out, usually we shut up and behave immediately....if we're smart. So is a spatula, belt or flyswatter.
By far the most hilarious reaction to this movie! Thanks for the laughs. Definitely made my day! 😊
You made my day bro, I appreciate the love💜
6:20 He is a mariachi, they play regional music or “rancheras”🤣 love your reaction by the way🤣
🤣🤣🤣, appreciate you bro! More to come stay tuned🫡
@sl_1k the mariachi outfit in its most traditional is black with the white embroidery looks a kind of like a skeleton and it's inspired from that.
lol I’ve never loved someone’s movie reaction before 😂😂 I’m officially keeping up with this channel for sure…
I’ve also never met anyone who’s been so clueless on Día de los Muertos. I feel like my classes have been more helpful in informing people of these events though.
wow bro.. appreciate you a lot! I promise you won’t regret it, I have so much in store for this channel stay tuned! Also I’m glad I got to watch this & learn honestly. It’s so beautiful & opened my eyes to another way of thinking!💜
@@sl_1kI’m so glad that a movie like this came out. My husband and I are Filipino and ironically this holiday is one of many things that we have in common with the Mexican culture however in the Philippines it’s called, “Araw ng mga patay,” (basically it’s just “day of the dead” in Tagalog. I’m glad you enjoyed this, though. I’m hoping Disney will release something that speaks more specifically about the Philippines. I mean, southeast Asians have , “Raya and the Last Dragon” but I can’t help but feel a bit disappointed because they just mashed a bunch of countries in the south east all together as though we were all the same which couldn’t be further from the truth, especially for the Philippines.
This is my favorite Disney/Pixar film. Nothing else comes close to the emotional impact of Coco
Men in mariachi bands dress like that lol. And the women in Hispanic throw shoes a lot they’re called chanclas
“Are you joking man” he sounded so done😂
🤣🤣🤣
As a Mexican I can approve we dress like this at home , but outside we dress like we’re white 😅😅
Lmaoo, it’s lowkey fye fr😭
@@sl_1kalso the reason why they didn’t smile in the photos is because back then mexican photos costed a lot , and it would cost more to retake so that why they don’t smile!
Homie what do you mean "We"? Who the hell do you think you are speaking for ALL of us? 😂🤣 I sure as hell don't dress like no white boy LMAO
38:30 they couldn't do research on the body since he died in the early 1900's and doctors or whoever checks body didn't have the tool to do that
Ah okay, that’s more understandable.
5:33 Hello from Mexico! Danye is actually a xoloitzcuintle, they are very rare and very mexican jajajaj
About Dante, he can go to the another world because in the maya culture, Xoloitzcuincles (Dante) we’re connectors between the death land and living land
13:15 “give up” 😭😂😭
😂😂
Yay! I can't wait to see your reaction to this. This was one of my suggestions.
Ayyy appreciate you! Lmk how you feel💜🤞🏽
One really good detail that disney added was that a lot of Mexican from Mexico learn to play music by watching and copying.
Mmmm I didn’t even realize that, great point bro!
Coco is very emotional. I've always wanted to see my family members at the land of the dead. Remember Me is my favorite song. The voice actress of Mama Coco passed away last month
🎵🎵🎵😢😢😢😭😭😭
One of my old friends bought into a scam website and they shipped him the blue ray version of coco and some other shit, he ended up leaving it at my house and I ended up watching it cause i was bored and coco became a life changing experience. If you want more movies like this, you should watch the movie Soul. 👍
Definitely will! Soul is in my notes to watch next! & it’s crazy how life works… hopefully you enjoyed the reaction!💜💜💜
@@sl_1koooo im tapped in for the soul reaction 🙏🫶🏾
The movie soul makes me irrationally depressed for some reason 🤣
I love the nicknames they give eachother LMAO reminds me of my family. We got Gordo, Chaparrita, salchicha, Quico, Nacho, Pelón, Flaca, I need more nicknames to give my family members 😭
That uncle was a trip in this movie.
I’m glad you mentioned that you gotta see things from Imelda’s perspective she was mad that he left initially and she had to raise their child not that he died. Then she went the rest of her life not knowing what happened to him.
Just stumbled upon you, first video, and you had me 😂😂😂😂. Remind me of my little brother, Keep it coming.
