- Enjoy the experience of watching me remove my peel and stick wallpaper. I'll also tell you how I feel about it based on my experience.
There are pros and cons to peel and stick wallpaper. It's a great way to customize your space, even while renting, but there are still small risks. Hopefully this video will give you an idea of if it's the right choice for your home. Still, this is only my experience, so don't let it make or break your decision. There are other removal videos that can help solidify your decision.
Thanks for watching!

It really does peel without breaking into pieces. I’m sold!!
This is a really good video, thank u. There are many videos talking about how convenient those wallpaper is. But no one is talking about the “damage”(in your case, there are no damage at all. Paint really is nothing here). I wish there are more videos about removing peel and stick tile or contact paper on the different surface.
Thank you soooooo much for posting this video. This video answered EVERY SINGLE QUESTION I had about this decor lifesaver that I knew absolutely NOTHING of before about 30 minutes ago. Lastly, the bloopers were a super cool realistic touch that made you a real everyday person which makes me feel that I can do this as well (the peel & stick wallpaper, not the video lol). Also, definitely white brick. Thanks for posting!
IM SO HAPPY TO SEE YOU BACK!! This is SO SO satisfying, but I think its more satisfying if I could have done it myself versus watching it!! I remember when you actually put it on moooonths ago!!
Thanks for watching!! It’s so crazy how long ago December was. It felt so refreshing to take it all down!
You can actually saturate the paper in vinegar, first, if you are concerned about any damage. I had to do this with some wall pops a few years ago that were supposed to be "easily removable and repositionable" (they weren't!). One started pulling up paint, so I drenched the tile in white vinegar, let it sit for about 15 minutes then removed it without further damage. I did the same with the remaining tiles and it worked.
Vinegar is supposed to be an anti-adhesive due to its acidic properties. The key is you have to let the vinegar sit for several minutes to ensure it has enough time to work. Alternatively, you can use a hair dryer or a heat gun while peeling away the paper. This method would take forever, though, on large surfaces.
What if the wallpaper is water proof? How will it reach the adhesive part?
Following
When you saturate the wallpaper, do you mean you use one of those 50/50 vinegar/water mixtures in a spray bottle? And then just spray it all over wallpaper before removing?
@@ShelterDogs I don't dilute the vinegar with water. I use it full-strength.
May I ask do you know how to get the glue off the wall after removing the paper
Hey, welcome back!! That White Brick looked so real when you asked before. Thanks for keeping the bloopers part - always makes me laugh.
It looked so good, but it felt good to finally take it down. Mostly cause I’m so excited to move. Thanks for watching my vids! 💕
This is why I’m scared to use wallpaper! Knowing my luck all the paint will be removed when I peel it off lol
I definitely think my situation was more rare. I don’t think it would get much worse than what happened to me lol.
You can actually saturate the paper in vinegar, first, if you are concerned about any damage. I used wall pops several years ago, which were peel and stick tiles that were supposed to be easily removable. Ha! Not so! I began removing one, and it was pulling up some of the paint with it! Anyway, I saturated the rest of it and the rest of the tiles with vinegar; waited for about 15 minutes for the vinegar to work; then I was able to easily remove the remaining tiles without further damage.
You can also use a hair dryer before peeling it off one small section at a time, and it will come off without damage, too. Personally, I'd only use this solution as a last resort or if, for some reason, the vinegar didn't get all the paper to come off. The blow drying solution takes a lot longer.
To be honest. I wouldn’t even worry about the paint. Your landlord is suppose to pain your apartment/house every new tenant. So who cares if the paint is messed up just don’t mess up the drywall. Great job with removal!
Meanwhile my landlord charges for paint damage and if they have to repaint
@@HoryezonSky yep.....and it's only because they can't help but be greedy. They are supposed to repaint after each occupant anyway.
Thank you! I wanted to try peel and stick, but thought it would not come off
Great video! I’m pondering installing peel and stick to my apartment
Thanks! I recommend. 😏
Thank you for this video! So helpful
Thank you for watching, Parrish! 💕
I'm so happy I came across this video now I need to know how to apply the peel and stick wall paper
There should be some yt vids on it!
Wonderful 👏 👏
just moved into my place so making sure i have this for future me so i don't feel overwhelmed when the time comes cause rental lol
Hi! Thanks for your video! Did u put a wall primer before putting the peel and stick wallpaper ? Wondering if that is something that helps keep the paint intact or makes the wallpaper slide off easily 🤷🏻♀️
It was an apartment, so I didn’t add anything to the paint.
Great job
White brick. I love your videos!
Thank you! ❤️
Good job. Great video. I will be doing the same soon. Thanks soo much
Thank you!
I suspect the places where the paint came off were because the surface underneath the paint wasn't good (maybe some damp in those corners?). ie the fault is with the paint finish rather than the paper..
I don't know how your channel was recommended to me but I actually watched you remove wallpaper. It must have been your charming personally.
Thank you so much Anthony! 😊
u should do more Redbubble vids if not that then regular vlogs u have so much potential its unreal
That’s so freaking nice and I kinda needed to hear that today. ❤️❤️
Mine left sticky tacky residue.. not sure how to get that off to paint
White brick ♥️
I’d rather have paint come up then residue so this is good news to me
That's funny because I am actually thinking of whitewashing my fireplace. A nice white brick. Lol.
White brick 😊
So when you say it leaves no residue it means it doesn't leave any stickiness on the wall? I just want to make sure before doing anything like this cause I used one of those decoration stuff on my kitchen furniture and it left a whole sticky mess. I had to use a products for stickers to remove it so it's a real pain. I wouldn't want to have to do that to an entire wall let alone think about the damage it would do to the paint.
For my walls and brands I used, there was no residue. Good luck!
The peel and stick wallpaper I used left my entire wall sticky in the apartment I vacated. I tried to get it off but couldn't. I said to hell with it and let them take it out of my security deposit.
It left my whole wall sticky 😭
“And i oop” 😂😂
Perfect phrase for that moment
Wow nice work! Who makes the peel and stick wallpaper?
Threshold and Opal House both have good options!
You can also get peel and stick tiles at the dollar store, BUT you'd have to stick them on poster board then use tack nails (also called carpenter's nails) to attach the decorated board to the wall. The tack nails leave very little holes, which are typically allowed by landlords.
Alternatively, you can use the 3M command strips to hang the poster board, which are easily removable without damaging the surface. These are alternative options to peel and stick contact paper or wallpaper for people on a budget. The dollar tree tiles look great, but they have a disclaimer on the package saying they don't guarantee they won't damage surfaces.
Pink flamingo!
Bom trabalho amiga
Thank you!
Where did you get the white brick from??? It’s so nice.
It’s Threshold from Target
Do you have the links to where you got your wallpapers? Thanks!

Thank you! 😊
How do you clean the adhesive off after removing the wallpaper I'm struggling
Adhesive remover, vinegar, or soap/water
Was this peel and stick wallpaper OR contact paper? True wallpaper is about 20 inches wide. Contact paper is about 17.
It’s peel and stick wallpaper :)
Using a blow dryer works also.
Where the paint came off it didn't adhere correctly to the wall. It had nothing to do with you paper removal.
That would make sense.

Is it safe on dry wall paint? just wondering
Google says if drywall has been primed and painted for 4 weeks it should be fine. Doesn’t work safely on bare drywall though.
So you just going to give up at the end after all we've been through LOL!
Hello, Liana.
Long time no see...i mean video. hope all is well.
Pink Flamingo...I watched that video too...
hoping to see more videos from you...any topic...you make it funny and perfect.
Thanks,
Ravi.
Thank you so much Ravi!
Did it leave a sticky residue??
No it didn't
Think of the people that will be taking it down after you leave… think of Ussss! Lol
Does anyone know if you can remove peel and stick from existing wallpaper (in a rental) without damaging the existing wallpaper?
I would slowly peel a less visible corner to check and hope for the best. May not be the best advice, but if you can’t find any other info you could try it. :)
@@mynameisliana I will give it a try and report back for others in a similar situation, can’t find anything on the internet in regards to it 😭
@@hannah_finesse Someone in the comments mentioned vinegar to decrease adhesive strength. But that may affect the wallpaper beneath. Good luck!
Is this vinyl wallpaper?
Yes
Why did you take your wallpaper down?
I moved
can you post the links to the products again, the links do not work
Done!
@@mynameisliana Cries in Canadian 😭. Hopefully I can find a similar product on Amazon
