Iden Versio (Janina Gavankar) is being interrogated for the codes to unlock an Imperial transmission aboard a Rebel Mon Calamari Star Cruiser. She activates her droid, which sneaks to her cell and frees her. Iden had allowed herself to be captured in order to erase the Imperial transmission, which would reveal the Emperor's plan at Endor. She successfully erases it, then escapes the ship by launching herself into space where she is intercepted by the Corvus, the flagship of Inferno Squad. Iden confirms the mission's success to Gideon Hask (Paul Blackthorne) and Del Meeko (TJ Ramini), other members of her squad.
Later on Endor, Iden, Hask, and Meeko secure the perimeter around the ruined shield generator, and watch with shock and horror as the second Death Star explodes. Vice Admiral Sloane orders a full retreat, and Inferno Squad recovers TIE fighters to escape the moon, which is being overrun by Rebel forces. The Corvus is attacked during their escape, but Inferno fends off Rebel bombers. Iden meets with her father, Admiral Garrick Versio (Anthony Skordi), on his Star Destroyer Eviscerator.
Admiral Versio confirms to Iden that the Emperor has died. A messenger droid displays a hologram of the late Emperor issuing his last command: to begin Operation: Cinder. Admiral Versio sends Iden to an Imperial shipyard to protect Moff Raythe and his Star Destroyer Dauntless, which hosts experimental satellites vital to the success of Operation: Cinder. The Dauntless comes under attack from a Rebel Star Cruiser, but Iden is able to board it with Hask and disable its ion cannons. Afterwards, they are ordered to attack the Imperial shipyard in order to free the Star Destroyer from the locked clamps. Afterwards, the Dauntless opens fire on the Rebel cruiser, destroying it.
Meeko is sent to Pillio and ordered to destroy one of the Emperor's hidden bases. He encounters Luke Skywalker (Matthew Mercer), who helps him disarm the base's defenses and fend off the local wildlife. They discover that the base contains the Emperor's spoils of conquest. Meeko and Luke part amicably, and Meeko begins to question the Empire's goals and motives. Following this, Iden and Inferno Squad are sent to the Imperial-controlled world of Vardos, in order to retrieve Protectorate Gleb. As the satellites for Operation Cinder begin destroying the planet with terrible storms, Iden and Meeko try to evacuate the civilians in addition to Gleb, causing Agent Hask to betray them. Disillusioned by the Empire's attack on Vardos, Iden and Meeko escape off world, now traitors to the Empire. They seek out the Rebel Alliance and are taken to General Lando Calrissian (Billy Dee Williams), who gives them the choice to help stop Operation: Cinder, or to escape and make new lives for themselves. Choosing to help, they aid Leia Organa (Misty Lee) in protecting Naboo, destroying the satellites for Operation: Cinder and reactivating the planet's defenses. After Naboo is liberated, Inferno Squad joins the New Republic.

@Scott Gr that's why I play the original battlefront 2. You play as the empire the entire second half of the game.

Well they're rebels. Their way of working is probably no different than the Talibans or any real world rebels.
@Sawan Raman I think most of the rebels know that stormtroopers can communicate with each other in helmets

really like the way they did Luke in this
The choice quote with Meeko was the most Luke thing i have heard in a while: "The rebellion?"
"No, to be better." That's a true Jedi right and proper.
"i CaMe To ThIs IsLaNd To DiE"
that ain't Luke
"A choice to be better."
THAT'S Luke.
MechanicPluto24 both of those are Luke, with a *30 year difference* . To say he maxed himself out at 22-23 and can never make a mistake again is boring, unrealistic, and stupid. It’s called character development. Ups and downs. Whether you like it or not. With myself currently being around Luke’s age in the OT I find myself a completely different person every year, can only imagine how much I will change in 30 years. But maybe you’re right and I’ll be the exact same person.
@@YouCantKeepMeDown You arse, that guy in the new trilogy isn't Luke, the paragon of bloody having hope even in the bleakest of times would never even contemplate the unrealistic (according to his character arc) idea of killing his own nephew out of fear, instead of doing anything but being a git. In SW legends, you know, the mountain of lore that Disney claims doesn't exists, he fucked shite up, he lost people he esteemed, he had "ups and downs", Luke changed, but never became a doomer who needed a boring Mary Sue to lecture him on how not everything is completely shite, that is stupid, now like it or not, Disney fucked up and defending the undefendable just proves that you only knew that trash, but never the real Luke. And of course the cherry on top, here comes the "Me hurt, me story, me relevant", what a wanker, is ever necessary to bring shite up that nobody cares about? This thread is talking about a character in a fictional setting and out of the blue comes a git in OT and saying how much he changed through the years, what with it? What was that supposed to add to the conversation?
@@YouCantKeepMeDown "Both of these are Luke, 30 year difference" my ass, Disney ruined Star Wars and you are either too blind and delusional to accept it, or you're just trolling me for the hell of it.

I totally agree. This is the Luke we deserved in the sequel trilogy movies.
Not going to change your mind. You are absolutely right that is our Luke Skywalker.

I'm sorry but he never appeared in the movies
I like Shriv’s cynical attitude. Almost sounds like me lol
well that never happened 😀🤌
The others may come and go but Shriv is forever
Wasn't expecting Iden to defect, yet when it happened I liked it when she and Del did. "If this is the new empire, I want no part of it." Pillio, Vardos, and Naboo were my favourite parts when watching this game; along with when Iden and her father reconciled at Jakku. Imagine if he'd managed to see the "Empire's weakness" as he put it, sooner. Perhaps he could have lived to be a part of his grandaughter's life. And be what he never was to his own daughter. I know it all sounds sappy, but still it.
tbf this was what played out in the Inferno Squad book.
I like it as well
Del; hold on a moment. Del; Iden, make sure you come back. Iden; Make sure I have a ship to come back to. Shriv; "Hey, Shriv, I hope you survive this incredibly dangerous mission as well." Thank you Del, your friendship means everything to me. I love Shriv! He is funny as hell lol.

Yep. I wish EA gave us a real choice whether to defect to the Rebels or not. You could play either outcome where Iden and Del stay loyal to the Empire, or defect the way the game forces you to; it would make replays of the game more interesting.
None of us can deny. The Luke in this game is definitely more like the actual Skywalker than the last Jedi one.

Facts
As much as i liked the gameplay and visuals and most of the missions. I would have rather Iden and Del defect to an Imperial Remnant that was against Operation Cinder then defect to the Rebels. A side that wanted to preserve order and its people of the Empire and have them fight against the Imperials following Operation Cinder, least that would explain how the Empire had lost so much of its military power by a large infighting over a small Rebellion somehow winning in a year. Just my two cents. I was just hoping for a more Imperial based campaign with little to no Rebels involved.
Exactly! It would have been a far more compelling story.
@@stephenkenney8290 I just think it would have been a great jumping off point to create new Imperial characters, that could be used in later installments comics, books etc and would have at least given the Empire some nuance. My biggest problem with Operation Cinder, is if the leader is dead why would anyone care to follow it? Even in the last days of Hitler's Germany there were ranges of opinions, some wanted to burn everything to the ground, part of the SS wanted to hide in the Austrian Alps and have a guerilla war, etc etc, I just would have liked to see some more naunce in the Imperial leadership.
Stephen Kenney And that would have made me support the Empire more. I like the Rebel Alliance but I am more inclined to the Empire.
this is a good example of how writers have to work .. see, how where they supposed to work the characters known to be loved into it ? it would not have been greenlit without big names to sell with after all. everyone keeps bashing those writers when they get told what they have to work in so they are bound to the sales calculations, meaning as long as you can sell more with luke and leia thats how its going to be.
That would have been so fucking chill and made way more sense. I love the idea of imperials vs. even worse imperials, haha.

Meh, I liked the campaign, even if it wasn't what I was expecting (I thought we'd play the whole campaign as an imperial). It was a bit of a mess and the pacing was way too frenetic for its own good, but there were good things about it:
1) It got Luke's character exactly right (unlike TLJ), even if the mission was short and lacked interesting enemies.
2) Shriv and Lando were awesome. Shriv in general is a great addition to the Star Wars canon. As a bonus, the mission was pretty decent too. Also, Billy Dee Williams as Lando!
3) Good use of the Williams score as well as new music.
4) Del Meeko and Iden Versio were both pretty likable. I wish I could say the same about Zey though (she was introduced too late and under chaotic circumstances).
5) Voice acting was pretty damn good, almost top-tier.
6) The big set pieces were pretty good., as were most of the space missions. Emphasis on "most."
Wait so young Luke wouldn’t even kill his enemy but tried to kill his own nephew. Lol
Fuckin' Disney...
No, it was an instinct which Ben assumed was a murder attempt.
Bad writing. He saw the good in Darth effing Vader and redeemed him. Its almost hilarious when you have to wonder how annoying Ben must have been to drive such a optimistic hero like Luke to want to kill him in his sleep
@@MinuteLeech2 I think you forgot what actually happened in Episode 6.
@@darkwolf4434 what are you claiming that he didn’t redeem Vader because he had so much faith in his father or are we going to re-write the originals to vilify Luke.
Luke redeeming his father is literally the climax of the whole franchise until they decided to making him an edgy nihilist and make both Luke and Anakin’s whole arcs pointless to put the shitty new characters on a pedestal.

This is the best comment I've ever seen
They had the chance to make a great game about the empire. But they messed it up. The enitre twist makes even less sense if you read "Inferno Squad".
Wich empire do you mean? After palapatine with the first order, cause than it could makes sense but back then not than I get it
They wanted to have this story tie in with the new saga. Disney basically wants people to forget about the old trilogy. That was their clear intention with episode 8. Kill off all the old characters to make way for the new characters. They want things to be black and white. Evil versus good. Having morally grey characters isn’t appealing anymore. Hence the reason the turned Luke into some crazy old hermit. That’s the only way they could get rid of him in a semi reasonable way without newcomers to the series wondering why they killed off a good guy that was really powerful. I honestly like this BF2 story. It has problems but the character arc makes sense. Iden and Del finally see first hand how evil the empire truly is. I guess I’m just not a big fan of playing as the villain so I’m glad I didn’t have to.
@@St3a1thsniper32 "Having morally grey characters isn’t appealing anymore." Sir, have you seen the trailer for the Mandalorian?
My cousin read Inferno squad and said it was dumb that they took such "Die Hard" Imperial Loyalists and forced them to defect even though from what it sounds like they were undercover in the Rebel Alliance for months and never even hinted at the idea of betraying the Empire. Honestly we all should have had the right to sue EA for the most extreme case of false advertisement I've ever seen in gaming. Hence I'm not even going to consider getting Fallen Order unless it's getting god tier reviews left and right. Looks great, but it's EA we're talking about. Even if it's Respawn, I refuse to pre-order or even consider getting until I get some extensive reviews that say it's worth getting.
@@St3a1thsniper32 But isn't that what the original trilogy was about? A simple story about good vs evil

I don't know how to explain it but it's actually really easy to get head shots in this game. I get them a lot and I suck at FPS games.
Same, lol. I'm rubbish at shooter games, but love RPGs with magic and swords. 😂😂
Despite the terrible launch the game had, the plot is definitely an interesting one. The aftermath of ROTJ and the fall the Empire is a good hook. I especially like how the Empire are portrayed. Once the most powerful force in the Galaxy, now they're scrambling for as many resources as possible. And unlike before, with every major or minor battle they lose, they become ever so closer to ending.
Well put. I enjoyed it for these reasons too
I know a lot of people dislike this game's campaign but personally, I enjoyed it.

It’s so stupid the resistance forces turned out to be “resistance” forces again after their victory few decades earlier. Retreating again. Rebels can’t establish the control over galaxy, even when they won. Maybe it really tells us something
on who is really the force in there.
Eh, I'd blame that on the writers of 7. It really makes no sense that the new republic didnt have an entire army after seizing control, and episode 8 made it sound like everyone in the galaxy was down for subjugation again.
In 9 the army they shouldve had just comes out of the blue, so it really just comes down to inconsistent writing and weird plot devices.
@@rdowg they did have an army but 90% of there forces where on the planets that the first order destroyed
It's because some higher up, whether Kathleen, JJ, Disney or someone, want soft reboot Star Wars back to the ANH state.
Good guys are a small, under equipped, rebel force of guerilla fighters with rugged outfits who hides on remote planets. Bad guys are a large, military force with legions of soldiers in clean white armor & control a portion of the galaxy. The Jedi are nearly extinct.....again & with most thinking they're a myth.
It's because of the backlash the Prequels got. They wanted to push Star Wars back to the style more associated with the OT. They wanted to avoid the PT style of Star Wars storytelling. Jedi everywhere & common, both sides being fully armed & equipped military forces who control regions of the galaxy respectively & can have large scale battles with each on the regular.
Rather than continuing push Star Wars to something different & risk losing people, they opt in to revert the style back to ANH state because that's what general audiences & Anti-PT Star Wars fans loved. Even though they kind of undid the victory of ROTJ.

1:13:27 I saw a stormtrooper doing a Banzai Charge at Leia! Was he shouting, "Vader Heika Banzai?"
I find it interesting that when Iden's father quizzed her about the Rebellion's beliefs, they mocked them, but that arrogance seems out of place especially after losing a SECOND Death Star and the Emperor! Never underestimate your enemy no matter what.
Well, the US military establishment has always looked down on irregular fighting forces, yet after Vietnam they should have known better than to underestimate such an opponent... Then they get embroiled on a decades-long conflict in Afghanistan, where their superior military might and technological advantage counts for little.

I cannot bear to see such cruelty. It’s just so unforgiving.
You sir are a poet with a tender heart and I appreciate this comment ❤️
Even with all the hate, the first mission was an absolute banger! This and the shipyard one, and Endor, pretty good missions!
I just love your content again another banger and I just want to say how much I respect all the hard work you do to keep us all entertained you really are the Goat at gaming movies.
Nobody:
Iden’s droid: you were expecting a numeration, but it was me, Dio!
Every. Comment. Section.
Thank you, this was amazing
Lmaoooo "look at that cloud car... No real pilot would fly one of these." That's a good one
I don't have time to play video games but I love all the stroy lines and this gives it to me without 500 hours of game play. Mahalo🤙🏽
This was the first battlefront game I ever played, and I loved the campaign. The story was well written and got an Inferno Squad tattoo
39:51 luke needs to focus and concentrate on the force to hold still a couple of boulders meanwhile Rey....ahaha, force goes brrrrrr
Falling rocks vs stationary ones and split second action vs relaxed, focused action
@@spencerladner3258 stop making excuses for shitty writing and shitty characters bruh
@@chuckn4851 And that’s all? Lol
@@spencerladner3258 u forget how many rocks she lifted and how little training she had. Luke on the other hand trained hard to be a jedi. Rey is a horrible character, no two ways about it
@@cerealmilk1803 It’s no different. It’s only different in your mind. You must unlearn what you have learned. Luke taught Rey well. Those rocks combined probably still weighed less than the x-wing, and Luke had just ran through the jungle. Rey wasn’t fatigued at all. The force is not some kind of skill tree where you get new abilities every other level, it’s everywhere. Rey understood the force at that point. Luke still did not in ESB. Not every student will struggle with the same things.
Hey at least EA nailed the Graphics and details.
EA didn’t develop the game. They’re publishers not developers dumbass
@@yoda301 theres no need to be an asshat jerk
@@pmc614 😂😂😂😂😂😂
@yoda what on Earth is ur problem?
It honestly looks leagues better than Jedi: fallen order. Every character in that game looks like a weird mutant and every planet looks like a skylanders Level
Woow! Congratulations! 3 Hours!
yea love ur videos
15:06 Yup, the Empire's time HAS COME
Man, why couldn't Force Awakens (2015) been this? An adventure that introduces you to the original (cast) characters. Self contained, but compelling overall. This was a fun watch. Nostalgia here and there.
I saw almost NOTHING wrong with TFA except with little to no explaination of Rey's backstory + Force sensitivity. TFA had a lot going for it but the changes in TLJ fucked it up.
Coole Video gefallen mir

Iden's pure disappointment at having to fly a Cloud Car is the single greatest thing.
The games only $10 now lol, I really hate ea for ruining the battlefront franchise but *love your videos man*
@Forsaken Pumpkin Buddy, fucking up a game by giving us forced monetization out the ass isn't the fan's fault. Fans do a lot of shitty things but this one's on EA.
@Forsaken Pumpkin yea, we cant blame the billion-dollar corporation for handing us yet another half-baked, full priced $60 with multiple deluxe versions ranging around the $80-120 range, attempting to fill it with gameplay changing microtransactions meant to force the MILLIONS OF CHILDREN who were going to get the game to buy the card packs or get decimated in-game, locked STANDARD characters like Luke and vader behind a YEARS WORTH OF GRINDING, and then tucked their tails behind their legs and didnt release proper content until 2 years later.
The campaign was short and still isnt complete, the multiplayer (modes and maps) was lacking content for over a year (and still is), and you really want to blame the consumers??
Yea, stay on your knees for the corporate cock, I'm sure they need your protection while they're making billions of dollars a year fleecing money on pointless purchases so they can pat themselves on the backs with their bonuses.
Rd owg the game is good now asshole make a good research instead of sticking in 2017 and don’t knowing anything about the game
The added to many things like:
Anakin
Obi wan
Grievous
Dooku
Finn
Phasma
New maps
New modes
New skins for clones and droids
New reinforcements
ALL FREE
Now shut up
EA didnt even make this game, dice made it and ea published it lmao
spacefacts you are rigth my friend
Leia be like: "I know you killed lots of innocent people, but since you help us you're with the Rebellion."
Me: great now I’m a redeemed imperial bastard
