I've been preaching this since the trade deadline: the '22-'23 season is a pass-through season to the '23-'24 season. This upcoming season is only for solidifying reasons to keep or fire Thibs, get Randle back on track to trade him, get cap space and position for Free Agency and high draft picks in 2023 Draft...looks like I was right. This upcoming season is a Sabbatical year for KNICKS fans to rest our weary minds and hearts and come back stronger for the following season. GO KNICKS!!!
As another loyal NY Knick fan, I was sick to my stomach on draft night. I felt bad....stunned. A loyal fan for over 40 years. This organization needs to get on one page from the players, the coach to the top. Develop young talent, create the right culture that leads to winning. Treat the fans better because without us and filling MSG every game, win or loose and paying to watch the team, where would this franchise be? I buy the NBA package every year and watch every Knick game and even save 15-20 to replay until the next season. We deserve better!!!

The Knicks have a very nice nucleus of young developing talent that just needs a few positive pieces. They don't need a superstar to be very good - I think they're developing several future allstars! Since Ivey was out of reach, working toward a free agent acquisition that will help them and fit in with the chemistry that these young guys have developed makes total sense. Plus clearing cap space was also important in keeping Barrett and Mitch. Randle is still the big question mark going into next season. Will he or won't he be a team guy and do what it takes to win, or will he continue to pout when the kids start taking over. If he concedes that this team belongs to the kids, then the Knicks, I think, are going to have a STRONG season!! I'm very optimistic about the upcoming season....GO KNICKS!!
This is the most level headed take from any Knicks fan. All these clowns continue to want us to star a superstar. How many times do we have to do that?? Not drafting a player means they lose a year of development for team building. This creates a lack of a nucleus due to trades before and during the season. Can a team gel under those circumstances? Yes. The issue is it's New York, a giant market that struggles on the world stage. I recommend change from the top first.
How do they lose development by not adding more young players to manage. Our starting 5 we’re all picked 36 our below. Julius is our oldest on that unit. Not to mention our bench has been drafted low as well. We young players on our bench with shoe deals. All that to say we have the young core we need. We honestly don’t have space for what we have. Julius and Obi. We got a lot to figure out.

I’m just trying to keep getting more information on this process. I can’t wrap my head around this so if they really grab Brunson I will be completely off the Knicks boat man. Rose made a smart move in this draft. He opened up our options in a bigger way. Let's be real here, the number 11th pick wouldn't of mounted to much, I mean really, it's the eleventh pick!
PLUS WE GOT RID OF WALKERS CONTRACT! A contract we needed to get rid of fast. WIN WIN FOLKS!
Now having said that we have three first round picks for the near future and a lot to play with. That's a great pickup for two reasons.
First if the Knicks tank next season then our odds of picking up a higher draft pick increases and it will add to what we already have in talent and youth.
Second, if the Knicks do well and play over .500? Then we have three first rounders we can use in trade deals! That will increase our chances for better upper tier talent.
Rose kept our options and that's very important in building this team. I believe he recognized that there wasn't a whole lot at the 11th spot.
As far as Brunson is concerned? Look at the reality of it. Cuban is no dummy and is more than likely to keep him in Dallas and so don't get your hopes all up high. Brunson is a second thought right now. Besides, whenever I see a player who is in a contract year saying they want to play for the Knicks? They are doing it to force another team to give them a good contract! How many times have we seen it?
Think about that for a minute. How many NBA players talk publicly about wanting to go to another team? They only mention the Knicks and so you know something is up with that!
The next order of business is to get Robinson signed and secured.
Then comes the question of what to do with Randle? Do we try to trade him or do we just run with him for another season? If it's me I'm running with him another season for one reason. He's a capable scorer, rebounder and assists man. Would we get someone any better than that in a trade? In this league that undermines the Knicks all of the time? No! Plus Randle has a good back-up in Obi who I believe needs one more year under his belt before he takes over the PF spot.
What Rose is trying to do is to line this team up for multiple deals and moves within the next few years to really bring us a solid team. He's doing a great job and so far Dolan is staying out of it which is very important as well.

If Knicks were already eyeing Ivey during the season, they would have at least tried losing games in order to get the top pick. Then they wouldnt be in this situation. Now that they have more than 2 first rnd picks next year, maybe think about just losing the season overall. Im sure Knicks fans dont mind losing to get the top pick and possibly get a great player. This management team has demonstrated its incompetence and should be deposed as soon as possible before they do further damage.
