- Though the Pokemon Anime has been running for over 20 years, and the Alola League has wrapped up with Ash becoming the champion of the Alola Pokemon League, we'll still more than likely get another anime season covering Pokemon Sword and Shield and the Galar region with Ash and Pikachu as the main characters. (Even if it is a reboot of the series) A Pokemon Sword and Shield anime series may seem pretty obvious to you, but 20 years ago, you may have been surprised. Cause the Pokemon Anime was supposed to end much, much quicker. Join me today as we talk about the potentially dark ending that the Pokemon anime was supposed to go through. One thats actually similar to Ash's coma theory, and one that embodies the meaning of friendship, and coexistence. This is how the Pokemon Anime was supposed to end. I wish that the anime had a continuing narrative, with a defined beginning, middle and end.
I honestly think it originally did Kanto being the beginning (Ash is a noob and loses the league), orange islands being the middle (Ash has a lot of growth in this arc as a trainer comes back from winning orange cup and loses to Gary to show he still has stuff to learn) then Johto being the conclusion. From interviews and stuff I remember from Shudo the ALOT of the original plan for the Johto arc was scrapped.
I can't wait to see how Ash looks in the Sword & Shield Anime,hopefully it looks like Movie 21 or XY/XYZ

Kalos would have been the perfect moment to end the series. The feeling after that was ideal to be made into a great ending.

It'd be a good ending because it would make the viewer illicit some kind of e.otion no matter what kind of fan they are and make them re-think the entire series. But it wouldn't be the ending ash or fans deserved.

listening to all this peace and harmony all i can think of is the bell tower....
feel that the Galar League will not only have Ash and everything he knows tested in the most grueling ways due to its competitive nature and grow in ways genuinely worthy of the champion he will be but also put everything he has learned throughout the series, including old tactics like Counter Shield and move combos, to good use. Including how to use Aura.
His performance in the Alola League (hopefully with him in first and his performance against Masked Royal Kukui), and by extension, his rising past exploits, will gain Leon and the Galar leadership's attention and either Leon or a Galar representative will personally invite Ash to the League. When Ash first gets there, a disaster occurs with Ash being the one who quells it, XYZ/DP style. Which in turn will gain Marine and Bede's attention, leading to his first galar rival double battle (with Pikachu and one other old or new) which ends in a draw.
How about a semi-solo traveling Ash (Marine and others would join and leave at different points in the series) with rotating both his new and old pokemon throughout the series, like in Battle Frontier.
Ash will truly become renown, and his past, present, and future exploits will garner some sponsor support as he traverses Galar.

it will be a slightly darker pokemon series than usual. Sword and Shield's atmosphere gives off a Majoras Mask feel to it a bit imho.

The Captain Tsubasa ending for Pokemon I mean makes sense but is an old theory.
The anime will end the day that Ash’s dad and all the trainers he said he would battle at the leagues will eventually be seen in the anime in an epic battle.
Maybe he didnt mean it as a actual "oooo it was all a dream" thing maybe he means Ash wakes up and the journey starts again, sorta like a loop

I just finished watching all the episodes of the original anime and it was great buuuut I definitely think nostalgia plays a huge part in the hype of it for sure. I hope the possible reboot includes this revolutionary new concept called "aging"

They should really wrap things up with this series. One last game called Pokémon Deluxe which has all the regions and one more new one. In this game your goal would be to become the ultimate world champion, complete the world-wide dex, and to defeat some new team which almost destroys the world. The anime could be good by starting in this new region which takes up the first season, the. In the second and third seasons will cover Ash going back to all the regions and meeting all of his friends again. The finale of the show, Ash finally becomes the master of the Indigo League, he and his pikachu sit down and watch the sun set. (Idk, it 4 am and I’m half awake)
That was beautiful and truly inspirational. Pokémon changed my life cuz it keeps inspiring to essentially be the best at anything I do and to keep improving. It’s helped me make tons of friends throughout childhood and I’m so thankful for the people I know in the community like you. This is one of my fav videos by you simply due to the words spoken in it.
What if after sword and shield 1 of these endings happen? I hope its the pokemon fight against trainers, the other would make all fans sad.

well, if you watched the introduction scene in the first episode of Pokemon where you see a video game sprite of gengar and nidorino battling, that was a dead give away that the anime story was an imagination of a video game, being played by an unknown Pokemon gamer. Especially how Ash introduces who he is and what pokemon are, just like the video game. So planned ending doe make scence. As players, its common to imagine yourself to be apart of the actual gameplay even though its not real, and the experience you have playing the game can have an impact on how you think depending on how great a game it is.

Ehhh not really. The writing quality of the individual episodes is much better than previous seasons, does a better job building atmosphere, characters have significant depth (some of them getting more development than any other Pokemon characters have) and the more slice of life feel is refreshing. It feels more meaningful, more genuine, than most other seasons. the only thing it's really missing is lots of battles and training (which I understand being upset at that, but it doesn't really affect the overall quality of the show this season), and of course people don't like the art style even though it's a million times more expressive than your typical Pokemon art style.

I make it canon divergence AU where everyone including even Ash himself ages like normal humans and when Pokemon universe got destroyed(in the end of that timeline), Ash and his friends become Supersoldiers with Pokemon attacks(later develops Aura powers that gives himself and some of his friends superpowers that don't get away when Pokemon DNAs removed from their systems) after Ash become Pokemon master
And that timeline branches from Tracey accompanies Ash and company to Johto and later regions instead of becoming Profeasor Oak's assistant

The Pokémon anime nowadays needs abit more darker theme to it sure nothing extreme but having those feels moments that really hits you right in the gut.
Japanese kids don't like the darker theme (XYZ did bad compared to regular XY).

Your wish has been granted. Ash will no longer be the main protagonist for Pokemon anime.
I think Pokemon is more about friendly rivalry and helping each other grow stronger.
Ash didn't call Trip a racist and try to eliminate him in the name of "equality".
When Ash was kicked out of Erika's gym he didn't call her sexist or sue her.
When he was caught dressed up as girl he didn't say he was one and call everybody phobic.
He respects the differences between boys and girls and recognized Erika's right to have a girl gym.
He just wanted a battle.
The episodes with Iris and Kiawe don't bring up race or "coexisting" at all.
The same thing with the one Oddish who wanted to be a Hoppip.
It's trainer wasn't all "accepting" and "loving".
She didn't chop up the Oddish to make it look like a Hoppip.
She helped it appreciate it's strengths as an Oddish.
The evil teams use Pokemon to commit crimes but instead of giving up his own Pokemon Ash uses them for good and confronts the evil.
He actually has strong words for N about it, and N doesn't get all offended and say he's being intolerant.
Ash may work with Team Rocket at times to save the world and stuff, but he makes it clear that he won't tolerate then trying to take Pikachu and stuff.
Misty, and even Serena, showed a lot of tough love and often scolded Ash.
Ash didn't say they were being intolerant.
He may not have appreciated some of the advice to begin with, but he was humble and recognized when they were right.
The only thing remotely "co-existing" about it was the episode where Ash yelled at Misty for not liking Caterpie, but even then he tried to keep it away from her and respected her feelings.
He wasn't foaming at the mouth demanding the government force kids to be indoctrinated with pro-bug propaganda.
That was also Misty we're talking about.
She didn't have a logical or moral reason why she was against bugs and wasn't trying to make a point.
She was just mean, but even then Ash never called her a bugophobe or anything.
Enough said.
Apparently Oleana is coming to Alola at the end of the next episode to possibly sponsor someone.
I think Ash is going to win the Alola league, impress her, and earn his way to Galar then.
If that's true then the anime will probably be ending or switching protagonists after Sword and Shield.
It would be cool if it ended with Ash telling his and Serena's kids all about his adventures, but it could end with him waking up to it being a dream as well.
Hopefully they'll do something for an ending and not just stop making it.

That old man was just a dream, like Ash's whole adventure until then, and he woke up in the real world as a child.
now i'm confused. I thought the ending stated that Ash, now an old man in the real world, is reminiscing his childhood fantasies, in which as he thinks back about his fantasy adventures, he dreams of being a kid again and reliving his imagination all over again. Thats how I understood it to be.
