Oni is quite possibly the final form Akuma may achieve in his life, Oni does first appear in Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition as a secret boss after the fight with Seth, it's even hinted by Rose that Oni is not even suppose to be hear in this time and is unexplained how he even got there, it's believed that the only way for Akuma to achieve this is form is to completely merge with the Satsui No Hadou, also he must surrender any reaming humanity he has left in his body, however this seems like a contradiction to Akuma beacuse he wants to be in control of the Satsui No Hadou and not be controlled by it like a puppet, it has not been 100% proven that this will happen but Oni could be a what if version of Akuma that fully merged with the Satsui No Hadou and wants power or simply not want to lose controll of himself, I do want thank you for going over the possible final form of Akuma that is Oni, you did a good job here and I do appreciate it ✊

He fights Ryu in one final battle where he does completely succumb and the unrestrained oni form somehow ends up causing himself to die while fighting the power of nothingness Ryu
Akuma is indeed one of the all time shoto characters in fighting game history since the 90s. But when it comes to his forms they’ve made since the Alpha series,like Shin Akuma is beyond badass. Nothing beats his ultimate form like Oni. Ever since they’ve made his debut of SF4 Arcade edition,just shows that he’s not someone to mess with. I love his design and his ultra moves. Too bad it’s not considered canon nor Shin Akuma is canon to the SF world.
It's not Canon because it's the future, oni is his ultimate form and his destiny is to become it, so... they could bring oni into stf6, that would be dope, I hope they do it
The form was suppose to be playable in Third Strike where Akuma has blue skin and a white Gi, his stage is also changed, it has a red moon. For whatever reason, it was scrapped, but it can be accessed through hacks.
ya shin akuma was planned for third strike. that color that was a cool easter egg in third strike. but it was just another color palette for shin akuma. i dont think the oni concept was ever planned at that point.?? that akuma he didnt have any new attacks or drastic changes as oni did. i think they even nerf his power cause his raging demon get slower. lmao w t f capcom!! but hey it was nice to have shin akuma playable in SFIII. he was also in 2nd impact. but overall its unfortunate akuma was an afterthought of SFIII. like with ryu and ken. capcom really wanted to stay away from shotos for some reason at that time....
Not Oni, but Shin Akuma. The move set is very slightly different and his air fireball throws two, just like any other Shin Akuma iteration before that one.

Some fans mistaken Oni to be like Kage, a shade, a magnification of Shin Akuma. But Oni isn't, he the opposite, While Kage is consider in story to be much weaker than Evil Ryu because he is only a shade as pointed out by Akuma, That they think Oni is weaker than Shin Akuma too. Oni is still Akuma, he is just the fully empower Satsui no Hado, and is what Akuma should become once consume (or master) by the Satsui no Hado, as one of Roses' quote says, that Oni should not exist yet, implying he will become Oni at a later time.
I think why in my generation which is millennial love Akuma is because he was our Vageta before we knew it and since he had a ssj look he was sooo bad ass looking and still is and consider the best street fighter character and most powerfull.

it was more then just cinematic. akuma indeed killed bison and destroyed his body. with his raging demon...that is canon. after bison got his azz beat by guile or chun li or both. neither of them take his life. but gouki then challenges bison and humiliates him and kills him. mocking his psycho power and showing how much more powerful his ansatsuken is. thus ending the events of ssf2. then in sf4 bison gets a new body and seth lore and all that trash. shrugs. not a fan of modern sf games much. ya akuma was meant to be the true boss of super street fighter 2. so why would capcom not make that canon??! also in japan its super street fighter 2 turbo was called SSF2X grand master challenge. that sub title itself is meant to reference akuma. i believe. but ya been a fan ever since. tho i never learned in the arcade who that guy ryu was pissed off at and throws his hadoken at until much later. much like every sf fan back in them days. info was hard to come by and either in game or gaming magazines. how times have changed. :)

Akuma isn't necessarily evil, he's just achieving enlightenment through violence, which is seen as a negative thing. So, it would be more accurate to describe Oni as 'violence incarnate'
Not sure what to think of Oni. Akuma was already overpowered and giving him more power bust the lore even more with DBZ and another SSJ2, SSJ3 and Ultimate Super Duper SSJXYZ level of ridiculousness. His initial design is best for me, no need to change it.
Interesting video. However, the right pronunciation of "Ryu" is not "Rayu", since it is not an English name. Japanese name should be pronounced in the intended way (in this case "Ryū", spelling the "y" as a short "ee" and a long vowel in the end, as in "Ree-yooh"), and I know this use started all the way back in the 90s, but it's 2023, and we surely moved on a bit, from then. I hope it helps.
Man, Akuma is extremely strong and perhaps even stronger than gouken and ryu for the simple fact that he was able to utilize the power that the dark hadou offers by keeping that dark side of himself in check; he didn’t have to completely rid himself of the darkness to maintain his humanity and self control. Still Nobody hasn’t truly beaten akuma yet. Gen was the only one that actually beat akuma before, but akuma was still young and not as strong or experienced but even Oro was only able to fight to a draw with akuma. I don’t know if it’s canon or not but in the comics ryu was his strongest when he was able to combine the power of nothingness with the power of the dark hadou and he had a red eye and a blue eye. If that IS canon, then that means two things. One; Ryu still isn’t at his full potential yet because as far as we know, he doesn’t use the dark hadou at all anymore; and two, Akuma is probably still way stronger than ryu.
I think it’d be cool if Oni made an appearance in SF6. Maybe Akuma finally sees Oni in canon somehow. But chooses not to become him because he wouldn’t be himself anymore. He’d be giving up all of his honor and humanity. Maybe he defeats Oni and vows to find strength his own way.
I wouldn't say Oni is evil, Oni is basically a more extreme version of Evil Ryu. It's no longer Akuma but a creature of the Dark Hado. There is no good or evil, there is no morality, only Violence. That is what the Dark Hado is about.
Shin akuma is one of the most broken fighting game characters and he’s has been banned in so many tournaments and you can’t play as him in online on ultra street fighter 2 that’s how broken shin akuma is

Akuma isn't necessarily evil, he's just achieving enlightenment through violence, which is seen as a negative thing.
So, it would be more accurate to describe Oni as 'violence incarnate'

Not sure what to think of Oni. Akuma was already overpowered and giving him more power bust the lore even more with DBZ and another SSJ2, SSJ3 and Ultimate Super Duper SSJXYZ level of ridiculousness. His initial design is best for me, no need to change it.

Interesting video. However, the right pronunciation of "Ryu" is not "Rayu", since it is not an English name. Japanese name should be pronounced in the intended way (in this case "Ryū", spelling the "y" as a short "ee" and a long vowel in the end, as in "Ree-yooh"), and I know this use started all the way back in the 90s, but it's 2023, and we surely moved on a bit, from then. I hope it helps.

Man, Akuma is extremely strong and perhaps even stronger than gouken and ryu for the simple fact that he was able to utilize the power that the dark hadou offers by keeping that dark side of himself in check; he didn’t have to completely rid himself of the darkness to maintain his humanity and self control. Still Nobody hasn’t truly beaten akuma yet. Gen was the only one that actually beat akuma before, but akuma was still young and not as strong or experienced but even Oro was only able to fight to a draw with akuma. I don’t know if it’s canon or not but in the comics ryu was his strongest when he was able to combine the power of nothingness with the power of the dark hadou and he had a red eye and a blue eye. If that IS canon, then that means two things. One; Ryu still isn’t at his full potential yet because as far as we know, he doesn’t use the dark hadou at all anymore; and two, Akuma is probably still way stronger than ryu.
I think it’d be cool if Oni made an appearance in SF6. Maybe Akuma finally sees Oni in canon somehow. But chooses not to become him because he wouldn’t be himself anymore. He’d be giving up all of his honor and humanity. Maybe he defeats Oni and vows to find strength his own way.
As I see it, Oni Akuma ( Oni ) looks quite similar to the Third Raikage ( Sandaime Raikage ) from Naruto Shippuden Series.

I wouldn't say Oni is evil, Oni is basically a more extreme version of Evil Ryu. It's no longer Akuma but a creature of the Dark Hado.

3:44 you can’t deny seeing each attack thrown and dodged was pretty freaking lit. Akuma also won’t fight to the death unless you have the intent to kill him, if he senses your intent to kill, you might as well be signing your own death warrant for your own death sentence and Akuma is the executioner. Watch Out!!!
