& In the comics, Ryu took off Cody's cuffs so that it was a fair fight even though Cody warned him. Ryu was unconscious in seconds. Then he went all Evil Ryu.

Damn, Cody is a fucking beast, his quote after beating Oni makes you realize that he actually enjoyed the fight and didn't get bored like usual.
If Cody wins in a fight against Akuma, he admits that he thought Akuma was rather weak compared to his expectations, being the only character to honestly say that he was unimpressed by Akuma's strength.
Also in the Udon Comics he easily beat Ryu after taking off hancuffs.

You know, there something I like about Dudley's victory quote to Oni. In every battle he fought and won in, his pride from them has kept him from realizing the bigger picture that he can't do anything he sets his mind on. After facing Oni and (somehow) winning against him will finally teach him the humility he's lacked for years on his boxing life.
Well, that kind of revelation is expected when you face one of the most strongest and feared warriors to ever live, many times stronger than he ever was.

I know when I finally defeated Oni on the hardest mode against Vega, I was literally geeking out. I was on the invisible vitality and I managed to hit him from behind to take him out. I was wigging out like I've never done before because there was a time that I actually fought him and he beat me by like a morsel of vitality through chip damage.

N'Goueko Son well, I wouldn’t call it REAL name since it’s just the Japanese name, but yeah it kinda is probably, considering naming your child “Akuma.” Is a sin, because you’re calling your child the devil. So yes, Gouki/Akuma most likely changed his name to that.
