- In this episode I introduce Andre to the world of PowerEggs. His EGGcitment was pretty high since I let him fly the PowerEgg-X. He Cracked up over the look of the drone, but in no time his EGGspectations were exceeded. We had a few close calls where we almost SCRAMBLED the drones.

The PowerEgg X has become my main workhorse cameraship, even though I had really bad Android issues with it for the first week of ownership. One suggestion I have made to the Euro support rep is to ask the developers to include a waypoint capability in a future Firmware/App release. The PEX is ideally suited to survey and SAR applications and having a repeatable autonomous flight option would be a big bonus.

ME flying my tello around many people where watching while I'm flying it but a few minutes later a mavic air and a phantom 4 joined I also took a video with the Mavic air and it's really cool that a tello can fly at high altitude for its size

That new Power Egg X is tremendous. Wish it had been available when I bought my EVO which Autel seems to have forgotten about already. Thank you, Cap'n (& Andre).
I have the Evo as well. They have not done anything new with it that I can use! Still no POI and you cannot fly VR with an iPhone. Had to buy a separate android phone just to fly FPV. My Mavic Air did a lot of things better than my Evo other than range.

Mr. Captain Drone. I picked an Egg up direct from PowerVision last month on sale for $299.00 The outer white box that the item is packaged in has a heavy duty black plastic handle on it. I took that out of the cardboard, then cut two holes with my Dremel into the black carrying case and fitted it the handle onto it. Thanks for the video, I wouldn’t have known to save the box had I not seen your video.

I love the way the legs on the original PowerEgg folds up and down. Looks so sci-fi! 😃 Both seems like great drones.
a lot of snow downt there south of the northpole ... but maybe you are close to southpole which is of cause south of the north pole.
No scrambbled eggs today ...
But the black leggs on the bigger egg seem to work pretty well. Good for visible.

A video I can sink my teeth into. I know the power egg landed in the snow and it tilted, but it shut off without flipping so that was good. You get a thumbs up from me.
I would have thought they would have updated to the firmware to return to home on battery low on the PowerEgg. I guess since the new one is out they aren't updating the PowerEgg any more. I really like the PowerEgg and would have bought one had that issue been addressed.

hey...i had my poweregg in p mode and it crashed into my street sign....broke the arm and all of the blades and the ring came off the camera....thought it was total lose...this drone is a tank...epoxy the arm got new blades and its like it never happened....the only thing about the drone i dont like is when the battery is low it will land no matter what or where...so set your automatic landing threshold at 12% battery life and it will land about at 15 so be aware....this drone also is very,very powerful so be careful with the controll when close to anything.....captain drone you are the king keep em coming

My question is not related to this video but love your energy and have high respect for your drone knowledge-I’m thinking of buying a JJRC X12 Aurora and right now it’s about $330 in US w/3 batt’s and am wondering if you’d recommend a better option in that price range-parts availability is important, camera clarity w/3 axis gimbal and wind resistance would be my main priorities because I will be doing a lot of my flying in Aruba with 15-25 mph trade winds and will use it to carry fishing bait/lures out into ocean to drop off! Many thanks!!
Similar price range for a slightly better drone is the Hubsan Zino.

I'm new to flying drones I got a hs 720 and I like it. But I think the poweregg is really neat and wouldn't mind owning one. I see I'm a little late to buy one I was wondering if you would have any idea if powervison would be making the poweregg again. Great channel really like it !!!!!!

Loved these! Could you do a video talking about Djis repair policy. I've known so many people deal with aweful service when their drones break. We talk so big about the drones but we never talk about their repair services which is clearly what's lacking. Hi Captain Drone I purchased a PowerEgg from Best Buy along with a second battery and a set of CW and CCW spare props. I love this Unfortunately it flipped on its top after landing two weeks ago. Not even a scratch on it but one motor tries to start but doesn't completely turn over (possibly an ESC or at the worst a faulty motor?) My batteries are 2 and 4 cycles respectively and the drone has only flown approximately 6 flights. I have 3 choices to send it to PowerVision in Texas, to order a motor and ESC and do the repair myself or to sell the EGG for parts if anyone is interested.
If the motor twitches then there are one of two problems. Something is stuck in the motor (damaged magnet or debris) or an ESC has lost programming. You should get an error message on the app, if not... then something has come disconnected.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Thanks for the insight Captain. This Drone is too unique to part with. I'm going to see is I can order a motor from PowerVision. The windings on the motor in question seem to be dicoloured so I'll start there and dismantle that arm. Shipping to the repair center in El Paso is at minimum $125.00 Canadian round trip plus the repair! I'll search for a used PowerEgg for parts before I spend that much on shipping.
How many minutes did the original fly in your clip here? Isn't it rated for 20 minutes or so?
One of the things that concerns me with these proprietary battery styles is once the drone becomes too old you can't find the battery anymore. That's what's happening with Yuneec Typhoon. I'm wondering if the battery for the Egg was also old? How long was it in storage?
There are a few other people with the Egg X and they all seem to say the video is not impressive. Are you getting good video, usable video, like Magic 1 video quality?

The original flys for 20 mins and if you are lucky 22 minutes. When you buy a drone, and if it is your only drone, you NEVER buy only one battery, you always get 3 batteries or minimum of 2. If you don't then you end up in the situation you described looking for batteries later when everything has been discontinued.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Agreed, and that's why I buy enough to give me at least 3 to 4 depending on flight time. But after 4 years the Typhoon H"s batteries are showing signs of death and they are harder to come buy. Another older quad I have, the batteries are non existent. So it's bricked or I have to somehow make my own.
@@Canyon76 I had the same problem with the TYPHOON H batteries. I was able to find some, but not at a great price.

I really hope these Egg developers didn't really plan on this being a DJI rival. Missed the mark by miles
DJI owns over 70% of the drone market in both commercial and consumer. Every company that makes drones is not a DJI rival but rather just another drone company because the 30% that don't buy DJI drones, buy these drones and it is a billion dollar industry. Could you imagine if 70% of the planet drove the same car? That is how it is in the DJI drone world. The teenage pimply faced kid down the street has the same DJI drone as someone in their 30/40's because that is all they know.
