  • I had hated the 650 for years since replacing my trusted 550B but FINALLY figured out the major issues and posting my hard earned lessons. Now I'm getting 100 successful rounds out of 100 tries most of the time. Night and DAY difference now.

I just tighten the setscrew that locks the shell plate bolt where ever you set it.

CORRECTION: Someone reminded me of the hex set screw that I completely forgot about DOH!

To alleviate the aggressive shell plate rotation, purchase the reduced power spring and lighter ball bearing that goes under shell plate and reinstall the ball bearing washers. Works lime a charm.

Who sells the spring and smaller bearing? Dillion or ..?

I have exactly the same problem and have become resigned to doing just what you said, nursing the shell around to station 4 to try and keep from flinging the powder everywhere. Thanks for the video and I'm pulling out that same bearing I installed to try and fix it and bending the wire as you suggested!

    Thanks for posting this.
I added the bearing kit awhile ago and have been having problems with primers flipping and /or jamming in sideways.
The bearing is THE PROBLEM, as it creates a space between the shell plate and the body of the machine.
I’ve been getting way too many rejects.. and that’s it!
    Papa Kev.. the Crypto Man…😂

Back to your vid re the first station.
Adjusting the throw of the slide is what you referred to correct. And if not adjusted right, the die hits the mouth of the case.
What did you do to correct that?
I should watch it again- but I gotta run to the range now… 🤣

    thanks for the vid.
there is a set screw in the side of the ram to secure the adjustment of the shell plate tension bolt so you dont have to rely on the ejector wire (Edit: ooops never mind I scrolled down and see you solved that)
you did point out the main issue I have though of the die striking the lip of the brass on the first stage. I will target that on mine now

Thanks a ton! I've had this same problem and no matter what I did, I couldn't fix it. I'll have to go back to the press and see if I can get it in that sweet spot.

Holy crap!! I just got a new 750 and I’ve been trying to figure out why in the heck the 1st station kept striking the die unless I went super slow. Wasted/destroyed so many cartridges!!! This video just happened to start playing on auto play and this literally solved my problems! Cannot thank you enough for making this video. What a nightmare. It was really making me not be happy with the 750. Fantastic video!! Thank you very much. You have no idea (actually you have exactly the idea 😂😂) how insane this was driving me the last 3 days.

I was going to say "There is a Locking Set Screw on the underside of the table that Locks the center bolt.
To stop powder being flung out of cases pick up a bullet then with your left hand that is holding the bullet place one of your fingers on the case that is moving from station 3 to station 4. That will stop the SNAP of the shell plate and stop the powder from jumping out og the case.

Dude there’s a set screw in the shaft that keeps the shell plate bolt from tightening or loosening. You should be loosening that set screw BEFORE tuning the shell plate bolt otherwise you are gouging the bolt. The wire ejector which fits over the shell plate bolt is NOT what keeps the shell plate bolt secure.

Just tighten the locking screw and no need for the aftermarket bearing kit. My 750 works great.
