    1. 2 ways to Graduated with no Debt and Lower the Cost of College
    - Ways one is by the college you go to
    - Way two is by getting scholarships, Financial aid, grants, and all the free money you possible can
    Why is this Important:
    - Because a lot of times we have a dream school or a fancy school
    - And reality your dream school should be the school that gives you the most money and isn’t going to get you into crazy debt
    - But tommy school matters, it does but not as much as you think it does ( I went to a little private school, with teachers that attended Columbia, Baruch and other fancy colleges and they all said the same, don’t go into crazy debt for some fancy degree )
    2. Picking the Right School
    - When you go to college you will have to take GE classes
    - That’s general education classes, that have nothing to do with major
    - And they are not free, the textbooks are not free and you don’t get to live for free for those two first years of general education classes
So here what happened to me:
    - The college I went to cost $830 per credit and each class was 3 credit, so each class cost $2,490
    - And to get a bachelors you need around 120 credits, around 40 classes
    - This usually means, 20 classes are Gen Ed and the next 20 classes are actually meaningful to your major
Total cost: $99,600 ( not including books, transportation, shelter, food, and normal bills )
However: in The Bronx, we have Bronx community college
    - And honestly I thought that was where the dumb kids went to, the people that were going to be failures, I learned to form my teachers and the media
    - But that’s where the smart kids go to, the ones that understand college cost
    - Because each credit is only $265 for New York Residence ( that’s a 70% discount )
Meaning for those 2 years of taking gen education course around 60 credits:
    Total Cost: $15,900 vs $49,800
    3. The Cool thing is this
    - While in saving all that money in that community college
    - I can get a job and save money up to pay for the next 2 years in 4 years of college for cash
    - And yes the credit should be able to transfer but just call and confirm first
    Other Perks:
    - This allows you to raise your college GPA during that time
    4. Free Money you don’t have to Pay Back
    - Scholarships
    - Financial Aid and Grants through FAsfa
    - Potentially Parents investments ( rarely but sometimes ) - 529 accounts or ESA account
    Scholarships:
    - You have three types ( athletic, Grades, and character )
    - I recommend you start first by applying for local scholarships that business and churches give out in your area
    - Then start applying for national ones ( take at least 2-4 hours of your day to apply for scholarships )
    Pro Tip:
    - Also save the essays you write so you can reuse them
    - Volume is Key, you will not be accepted for them all but keep applying
    Story:
    - My teacher told me to apply for a scholarship while I was in college and it took me 15-30M
    - That’s scholarships for accountants gave me $10,000
    - In less than hour I made 10k
    FASfa and Grants:
    - You want to fill this out every single year even if you don’t qualify because you never know
    - And this is free money the government will give you
    529 account and ESA account
Work-Study and Work for reducing tuition
    5. If I knew this when I was in high school
    - I would have saved so much money and so much time

Take AP classes in high school and reduce your years in college by at least 1 with the right classes. Saved me a lot of money.

community colleges literally offer some of the same classes at a cheaper cost. it just that universities have a better rep and people like to brag about their school

3rd way to go to college for free: join the military. That's what I did and it fully paid my college expenses plus paid a monthly stipend. Only did a semester though. The military also funded my CDL training and now I easily make over $40k/yr

Ever thoughts about spacing the uploads a bit more, like every other day or two days perhaps? Kinda feel overwhelmed as a viewer with constant daily uploads. Kinda reduces the novelty and urgency to watch each video and would also help with channel engagement no? Just a thought keep up the dope content 🙌🏾🤧.

    • @TommyBryson
      @TommyBryson  Před 3 lety +2

i like the daily content, every video is more about solving a problem for someone. Usually not every video will apply for the entire audience, when you space out videos, you have to make content to cover the entire audience.
