How to Change Victron MultiPlus Settings w/ a Mac

I was having a tough time trying to figure out how to change our multiplus compact settings using a mac and there was no simple clear answer through all of my online searches so when I finally found the solution I wanted to make sure I shared it so that someone else having the same problem would be able to find the answer easily. Basically you can now use the victron connect app to change the settings which is compatible with mac software vs. in the past you had to use their old software which was not compatible with mac so you needed to run it through some sort of parallels program. To have all possible settings you still need a PC and the Windows only VEconfigure software.
For example for the programmable relay or power assist configuration.
I am also a Mac user, and need a extra Windows PC only for that crap! :(

If you have a Cerbo device you can use it to download settings from your Multiplus and then push updated ones back. Only mentioning because that way you don't need the dongle or whatever it's called it you already have the Cerbo device.

Wow! This video was a life saver for me. I only have Apple devices, including a laptop (no window's based PC), so I was running into a road block in getting my new Multiplus inverter to charge in bulk mode after dong a FW update. I could not getting into the detailed settings anymore and could not install the VE.Configuration software on my Mac and the VE.Connect showed it needed a password to enable changing the settings. So you providing what that password is was a life saver. I was able to change the settings back to what they should be for my set-up and after restarting the inverter, it went into bulk charging mode like it should. Thanks very much for sharing.

My multiplus WILL NOT show up on my MacBook air. I spent 4 hours today and it will not show up using this. I'm so frustrated.

My biggest complain about Victron... There should be an online convertor or a native Mac OS app. I can't believe Victron is closing ears on this problem for that long.
My solution is; remote connect a Windows pc to use ve configuration tools. Then upload new updated settings with Cerbo GX to MultiPlus... And it's a pain in the a..

I have a Mac and have gone on VictronConnect on my MacBook Pro, it doesn’t show any enable settings?
Everybody keeps telling me you can change things, but I do not see enable settings anywhere??? 😩

Just so that I’m clear, there is No ‘programming’ of the Multiplus, DC-DC, or MPPT without adding the Interface/‘Dongle’ component ? Another VE expenditure …. 😫

That is correct, you need the MK3 dongle.
You can’t even do many crucial programming steps with a Cerbo GX and Touch, which I just found out.

Works Ok for Me Settings Were Set But When I went On The VRM Portal to see the Inverter/charger I Went to Devices it Showed 3 Inverters assigned to each a different number. Do you know What I Have to do NOW?
