mymymy what a song! - Hudba
A lot of you younger guys are here on earth because of this song , haha no doubt, ask ye momma
This type of music needs to come back
i think bruno did it onxe
I agree
Word!
@@sonyatmaja5392 not quite
Yes!!
Johnny Gill is the reason early NEW EDITION songs sounded so mature. His voice was amazing, and only got better into his 20's. I have this on cassette, lol
That background in “can u stand the rain” and “ boys to men” from that NE HEARTBREAK album, 🔥🔥🔥
@@levil4012 Ah, I know a fan when I see one :) I wore that album out on cassette, playing it on my Walkman on my bus rides to and from school. How perfectly 80's is that? Johnny's voice on Can U Stand The Rain! WITH THOSE RUNS!!! It's heavenly.
@@marisagettas the VERY good old days when TALENT ruled the airwaves!
Actually Johnny wasn't on early NE songs. He took the place of Bobby Brown on the NE Heartbreak album.
@@nittydalion the BEST move they made to mature their sound.. good job Jam & Lewis!
Babyface actually wrote that song for his brothers that were in a group called After 7 but they were late to the recording studio and Johnny Gill was like give me that song when he heard a snippet. So... they recorded the song with Johnny.
Johnny gill smooth voice
After 7 on background vocals
Babyface production
Kenny G on Sax
What could be better
Babyface was also one of the songwriters of this song
Wow!
80s and 90s R&B always had that saxophone in the background
You were looking at johnny and I was looking at your hypnotic face
Johnny Gill has the voice like Teddy Pendergrass and the best soul singer of all time.
The two voices are quite different, Teddy has more of a baritone voice, Johnny more of a tenor voice. They are both great singers, but Teddy is the most experienced singer of the two and can use his vocals more flexibly than Johnny. Teddy Pendergrass can be equated with his singing skills with Luther Vandross and both have a distinctive voice.
Many greetings from Heidelberg / Germany
pitches are a bit different but they both get the same reaction from the girls haha!
Just love when youngins finally hear our music
Johnny Gill is amazing. His vocal range is so amazing. He is one of the most underrated artists. He can sing
"Boys to Men" by New Edition showcases Johnny Gill's voice perfectly. Also, listen to "Where Do We Go From Here", a duet he does with Stacey Lattisaw.
This is my music growing up to high school time, I think the music back when i was young is way better than the music today, still a hot song that movies you with out being over the top and vulgar in lyrics
That Sax is Kenny G girl!…
This song is one of the best
Your face! HAHAHA. Brilliant reaction! Hard to beat Johnny and Kenny. A 90's gem for sure!
Johnny's vocals on New Edition's "Can You Stand The Rain" is another stand out. Give that a listen. But for this kind of music, with this type of low and raw voice, there was only one singer that was king. Try Teddy Pendergrass doing "Close The Door", and "Turn Out The Lights".
Yes,I have come to know the music of TP solo and Johnny is def channeling him.
But there are different voices of Johnny and Teddy, I have already written a comment about the voices. he was.....The two voices are quite different, Teddy has more of a baritone voice, Johnny more of a tenor voice. They are both great singers, but Teddy is the most experienced singer of the two and can use his vocals more flexibly than Johnny. Teddy Pendergrass can be equated with his singing skills with Luther Vandross and both have a distinctive voice...... But they are right, both can roughen the tone very well, some singers like to do that to better express the lyrics and to bring drama into the song. Many greetings from Heidelberg / Germany
@@dancefloor9032 I case you didn't notice I said "with this type of music". And Tresvant is a tenor. Johnny will always be a baritone. See the difference?
@@helgar791 didn't attack your comment, I just believe that Johnny Gill and Teddy Pendergrass have different voices. I agree with your statement about the rough voices. Where is the problem ? furthermore, they did not write a word about a baritone or tenor in their commentary.
Lol she could have been conceived to this song.
Johnny is a bad man!!!!!
Watching your reaction is like eating that last piece of cake at 2am, feels guilty how adorable you are.
🤣
shiftt, I second that emotion!
I believe no one could sing this better..
I bought this album for a girl I met back in 1990, and here we are 34 years later still happily married. ❤❤
Your reaction was genuine, and priceless. I forgot how infectious; the song was at the time.
Because 80s hitmaker Stacy Lattisaw helped him get recording/into music, he always makes me think of her and her amazing voice. Her last song before leaving industry was #1 duet with him.
I've always loved Johnny's voice even before he joined New Edition. You would enjoy his more recent songs with Ralph Tresvant.
This song was on my mix tapes, always first song on side B after " Secret Garden" Quincy Jones..which you should also check out.
Mine too
Bro … I had the same mixed tape playlist … ha ha ha playa gotta play
In 1992 at a New Year's event in an American barracks in Germany, I danced to this song by Johnny Gill all by myself on the dance floor. In this event hall there was a stage with a DJ playing music and in front of the stage there was a large dance floor, but nobody but me danced. About 800 American people sat at their tables and watched me as I danced on My, My, My. It was wonderful and later most of the Americans danced too of the Soul , R&B and Funk Music. I will always remember the beautiful evening. I thank America for the beautiful music. Many greetings from Heidelberg / Germany
Girl you got swag.. and proper and informative reaction to the song. And this song is always on my playlist since 1992.
This was definitely in rotation back in the day while entertaining a young lady.
Half Crazy is another great song of Johnny Gill. Very popular song here in the Philippines.
Babyface (& LA Reid) produced the song.
That's Kenny G on the sax and After 7 (Babyface's bros & cuz) on the background vocals.
The other guy was LA Reid's cousin. Not Babyface's
This was all Babyface on the writing and producing. He got Kenny G on the sax and After 7 for the background. Johny almost missed out on his biggest hit, because he didn't want to do the song at first
I ❤️ that you ❤️ the music I grew up on (1984-2004). I feel so blessed to have lived this life in the eras that I have. It’s been amazing to witness everything I have, and although I’m “older” now, I’ve always made a point of continuing to love new music as well as the the old. When you go back you get a greater appreciation for how the music has evolved. It makes it all the more enjoyable.
Johnny gill- there you go
Girl, you are like an addictive drug. I can't seem to get enough of you!!
Johnny Gill and Shabba Ranks had a hit jam called Slow & Sexy. I was in high school when it came out.
Classic Johnny Gill one of my all time favourites, I love your review.
I'm 15 and I love this song 😂🥰
Your comments were so funny and I am picking up what you are putting down!😆😆🤣🤣 Johnny is definitely a cutie but his voice knocks me off my feet!💖
Have only listened to a couple of your reactions but I have to say...Your positivity is contagious and you are so BEAUTIFUL.
Much Love to you RoRo !
This is a classic by Johnny Gill
Das stimmt ......that's true....You say it in one sentence. I bought all of the Johnny Gill Records in the 90s. His music is soulful, funky and classic. I would have liked to see him perform a live concert. Greetings from Heidelberg / Germany
I felt as if I was in a tennis match. My head going from left to right, looking at Johnny and then your facial expressions in response to his moves and vocals! So cute 🥰 I’m sure at some point in my younger years I was slow dancing to this sexy song! I enjoyed watching you react to this!
The song was written by Babyface for his two brothers Kevon & Melvin along with third member Keith Mitchell of the group After 7. Melvin was actually going through some issues and the song was given to Johnny to record. The saxophone is actually being played by the one and only Kenny G.
I thought it sounded like Kenny G on the soprano sax, but I wasn't sure. Thanks for the confirmation.
You are so right! You must have been watching the TV one Special on My Fav group After7!
@@mjspov7983 Yes indeed !
FACTS
My, My, My! These songs had ❤️. Freddie Jackson is another great artist.
a classic and incredible artistic work by Gill, Babyface, After 7, and Kenny G. Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds has so many great songs out there. thank you for sharing your exuberance and joy in this video!
FREDDIE JACKSON: "You Are My Lady" "Rock Me Tonight"
I'm in love with Johnny when i heard this song
same lol
Another good song From Johnny Gill is "Let's Get The Mood Right"
Imagine a recording entrepreneur starting a throwback R&B company to give real artists an avenue to spread this type of wholesome, romantic and respectful music one more time in our lives!!!
Chile this song is soo damn good, I wasnt even born and lawwd, I am speechless.
Arsenio Hall a talent search. He aired dozens of versions of dudes singing their hearts on this tune. Johnny is the unquestionable beast.
I love your reactions to when you hear these songs. You are so adorable.
Love this song❤. And your reaction is gold pretty girl.😍
That reaction was hilarious. Enjoyed every minute of it. Always love that song
I assure you that you have never heard anything like it among the voices.
Diana Ankudinova's voice goes straight to the soul.
Among the reactionaries, Diana has long earned the title of queen of goosebumps.
Fallen in love with her humanity, her soul, her voice, her personality, her talent, humor, intelligence, courage, ... ❤️
Recommend making reactions to Wicked Game, Its Man's Man's Man's World and other

Timeless song, can listen to it any day, any time.
OMG, it is kenny G. Just can’t stop playing this over and over again. My my my
Great reaction! Timeless music. Like the look on your face when he growls
I love your reaction 😍😍
Yeah man! A lot of people are here with a lot of inspiration from that song.
I love that song 😍 to
Baby making music, the best way to describe real R&B music!! 😎😎
I loved his Hit The Floor 🔥🔥🔥
I second the request for Quincy Jones' Secret Garden featuring Barry White, Al B. Sure, El DeBarge and James Ingram! But get yourself a handheld fan first! 😂😂😂
The long version of that song is called The Erotic Garden. It's a master-class in baby-making music. So is almost anything recorded by Luther Vandross. Finally, check out Love don't live here anymore, by Rose Royce.
@@philreichenbach2413 Herr Reichenbach ich glaube nicht das sie viel Ahnung von Musik haben. Sie reden sehr böse über Musik, Musik ist zum hören da. Ach sie sind kein Deutscher dann in Englisch........Mr. Reichenbach, I don't think you know much about music. They talk very badly about music, music is there to be heard. Oh you are not German then in English. Grüße aus Heidelberg / Germany
Only 1 Barry White.
Your reaction is super cute. It's really sweet to see how happy a song can make you feel. Isn't. Music great. I'll take me some Rouge Rxyce. 🤣✌🙏
So much soul....I'm here for it!! Great reaction..💖
Love the reaction 👑 from Australia
Bring back romance. Old school RnB ❤
Rogue, you have soul in every curve of your smile and I'm pretty sure ALL your male fans would want to slow dance with you
Every one of us brother!
Anything by the members of New Edition is 🔥🔥🔥
Next best song to go from here to get some more truly yummy Johnny Gill is "I'm Still Waiting." My favorite! I'm still listening to it in 2022 like it came out yesterday! (Just wish the video quality on the one that's available was better)
Awesome Reaction video
Johnny is definitely baby making music.
I recommended this song to so many reaction Channel finally someone has done it
That saxophone in the back is The Smooth Jazz Legend Kenny G, one of HIS best songs is "Silhouette" if you wanna react to Smooth Jazz
Just wish that my wife and I were together back when music like this first came out! Do y’all remember the word “sprung”? Folks like Johnny Gill helped more than a few of us back in the day…😏😏😏
Lovely song, lovely him ❤
I thought that was Kenny G in the sax, had to look it up to confirmed. New subscriber here. This is a timeless classic. Good job sis.
Hey pretty girl it was gift
To have grown up in the
Mid 70's 80's and 90's and young but you do have the passion as if you did.
You can see Johnny Gill in an episode of Family Matters. He sang this to Laura Winslow.
Awwww you reacted to this song! I’m gonna subscribe now coz I think I watched a few of your reactions in less than half an hour haha. Babyface songs are just love and this song with Johnny’s vocals *chefkiss*
👩🏽🍳🤌
She has a cool Radio voice.
I was in the 11 grade when this came out👏🫠🔥💪👍🎶🎵🎵
Need to do "Can You Stand The Rain". New Edition was better with Johnny Gill than Bobby Brown.
FYI. The sax solo was by Kenny G. He was all the rage during the 90s and early 2k. This song produced by baby face, but Producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis were at the top of their game for most of his other stuff. Other artists they produced such as Janet Jackson, Herb Albert, Jordan Knight, Boyz II Men, Mary J Blige, Alexander O'Neil and on and on. This song topped the r&b and pop charts.
Check out Jonnhy Gill with LSG "let a playa get his freak on"

I wish I could've taken you back in time and groove with the vibe, it was beautiful times.
This is my first time watching your reaction video... it's captivating and I haven't quite figured out why yet 🤔.
Another one on my play list on repeat.

Great reaction to Johnny Gill! Check out his song for filling the dance floor “rub you the right way”.
Was the jam back in the nineties :)
Also gotta gotta react to Chris Isaak- wicked game official video. It’s a must react to if you’ve never heard it. Great reaction as always!
The entire back side of his album was slow jams like this
That is my hometown (Seattle) celebrity, Kenny G, on the sax.
