It’s looking good! A hot shower is a game changer. Just curious, what is the building that the shower is attached to?
Larry, It's a shed next to the cabin. I just built the shower box and secured it to the shed
@@offgridco I was thinking that it would be a great place to have a private bedroom. It’s just my thoughts. You are making great progress.
@@larrybell4599 Thanks. I did build a small outhouse about 800 feet away from the cabin. The reason was there is a septic system on the property that was built in the early 80s by the previous owner but never built or attached a house. So I used a free toilet I picked up on the side of the road and manually fill the back but flush it right into the septic tank for the win :)
losing power is never fun. You are always trying to charge as much as possible but like you said, Colorado weather is very unpredictable. Do you have a Jackery or some other small backup power supply for emergencies? Does the state tax buildings that are not being used as residential or are not habitable?
For now I just use a generator as needed. I have since added solar capacity that really helped a lot. If the building is over under 200 square feet it's not taxed. So at some point I may add some sheds as needed.
