In this video, I explore Park Slope in Brooklyn. Park Slope is a beautiful neighborhood with brownstone buildings, tree lined streets, and served by the main avenues 5th Ave, and 7th Ave, where you will find lots of restaurants and shops. The neighborhood is next to Prospect Park and really pleasant to explore and walk around. Hope you enjoy this video, stay tune for more.

Great video. I was born in 1950 on President St., between 4th. & 5th. Ave. Went to school there. In fact, John Jay on 7th. Ave. Was my High School. Went into the Navy at 18 and when I got out, got a job at Con Edison on 222-1st. Between 3rd. Ave. & 4th. Worked there for 38 years until I retired at 61. Don’t live in Brooklyn anymore. Moved out a long time ago. I know every inch of Brooklyn and what a great place to grow up. Never forget on December 16, 1960 when the two planes come over New York. United airline came down on 7th. Ave. & Sterling Place. I was 10 years old. Never forgotten the only survivor, Stephen Balts. He was just 11. Died the next day at Methodist Hospital on 7th. Ave. The block you are walking on is President St. my Grandparents and Aunts lived across the street. My mom knew Joe Gallo. I used to go to JPan for sushi. I walked right down the block on First St.

I'm buying a house out here in a few months. Straight cash. I just need it to stay on the market until then which shouldn't be an issue since it's a pretty expensive house.I love the trees. It's like an oasis away from the concrete jungle that is new york. It also seems more quiet and peaceful. I grew up in New Orleans and the oak trees covering the streets reminds me of our uptown/city park area. Feels like home.

a great avenue to see various style homes, tutor, ranch, colonial, brownstones, etc etc is Bedford avenue, from Brooklyn college south towards sheepshead bay, and of course all the mansions along sheepshead bay. but pick a beautiful day to do so, and do it fair early in the morning for the perfect sun illumination.

Wish you had walked up 10th St. from 7th Ave to the park, woulda passed my first apartment between 8th and Prospect Park West. Neighborhood looks pretty much the same as it did in the late '60s to early '70s, and it was far more affordable. I also lived in two other locations in Park Slope, including 1st St. between 5th and 6th before being gentrified out and moving to Jersey City. And now JC is going the same way. Plus ca change, plus ca reste la meme chose. I also worked as a private chauffeur for one of the movers and shakers of Brooklyn who was associated with the synagogue you passed on Garfield Place near the end of the video, also met the rabbi who was a very interesting person and had been the chief rabbi to the US Navy. Got a soft place in my heart for Park Slope.

@@MannyExploresVlog I loved Jersey City, and still do, but if you visit one or two of the Jersey City pages on YT you will find a great deal of discussion about the affordability issue and the major disruptions due to all the new buildings and other development. Only time will tell how it all pans out. I was there in the mid '70s to early '80s for the first stirrings of gentrification, and was there very often from 2004 through 2012 delivering to both municipal, state and private entities and later on just to visit. I just hope that it doesn't totally lose its unique character.
