I grew up in Brooklyn when rent was 50 dollars a month. I also owned a four family there and my tenants paid 170 a month. I can't believe today's prices. Greed has taken over every aspect of our world. At least the safe, family atmosphere is still there.

Rent prices have gotten out of control. House prices are ridiculous. Greed is out of control. Most of us just can't afford to live there anymore. I agree with you.

Lived there from 2010 to 2023 and the max I ever paid was $1600 for a one bedroom in the last 5 years. My other rents were around $500-$800 per month renting rooms in different. apartments. It's so difficult for regular young people moving there now that aren't funded by their parents. Of course you can always make it work and NYC is worth experiencing but my memories of being in my 20's there involved being out all night several times per week parting and I can't imagine how I could have had that experience now with how expensive it just to pay rent. So for this I am very grateful to have experienced it then and not now.

Very good value for expensive Park Slope. The Bedroom is double the average size in a NYC apartment. A washer/dryer would be a plus for sure.

Loved you as soon as you said no outdoor shoes inside the house, London made me a no shoes indoors person when my son started to crawl and today he's 17 and we still don't wear outside shoes indoors... sorry I'm going on but I'm passionate about it especially when people have kids crawling and chewing on whatever they pick up from the floor 😊.
Beautiful set up,I love how every step is well thought out and functional to your needs.

Really awesome and cozy apartment and super professional looking video! one thing though, i'd recommend maybe cutting out the part where you show the front of the house/street. there are a lot of crazy people out there on the internet and showing streets or even window views has previously lead to scary stuff happening to interior design influencers and other people on social media.

I was born in Brooklyn back in 1950. Lived on President St. between 4th. & 5th. Ave. In 1955 we moved to 6th. Ave. Between 19th. & 20th. Lived in Bay Ridge, Bensonhurst and finally moved to Saratoga Springs NY. Had two homes in Saratoga and last July sold one to my daughter and her husband. It’s over 1,816 sq. Ft. We lived there for 23 years. My wife and I moved back to our first home here in Saratoga. My son house is only 4 houses away from us and my daughter is only 2.5 miles away. We all have 2 car garages and plenty of room. I miss Brooklyn but it’s not what Brooklyn used to be when I was growing up there. My wife and I moved out in 1995. Good video!

I had a summer sublet in Park Slope in 2009. $1000 got me a shared kitchen on the second floor of a brownstone (and the smells of whatever the other tenant was cooking at a given time.) I was fortunate to have my bathroom connected to the bedroom; the other person's bathroom was down the hall, so she had to leave her main area to go to the bathroom. We could go on the rooftop, but we didn't seem to have courtyard privileges. It was still a great experience in a neighborhood I constantly visit.

That’s too much money. That was one of my reasons for leaving NY. I used to love living in NY. My last visit was in 2011. I had some money so I stayed at the Ambassador Hotel in Times Square. I couldn’t wait to get out of the hotel so I could enjoy NY as before. The first surprise I received was when we were literally kicked out of 42 Street, because everything was shutting down at 11pm. I remember when we used to hangout day and night on 42nd. Back then the movies were under $1 before 12pm and you could stay the entire day if you wanted to. The famous shooting gallery in 42 Street was gone. It was sad to see. 1:10 I then visited other favorite places where I frequently went to hangout and shop. Crossing the bridge to Manhattan from Brooklyn were hundreds of street vendors when I was living in NY. On this visit, there were none. All the street vendors were driven out by the city of NY.
I’m not going to bore you any longer, but all the places I used to live in NY were either gone completely, or were made different. For me, they were uglier.
There were some things still there, but the love for NY completely faded. Especially after seeing what all these lawmakers have done to it. I would definitely stay away from NY, California, Illinois, and Detroit. However, if you like living in NY or anywhere else; then stay there and continue to be happy. I honestly wish you the very best. But whatever you do, try your best to seek GOD’s love and his promise of salvation and eternal life, in HIS SON JESUS.
FOR TIME IS RUNNING OUT QUICKLY. GOD BLESS YOU.
