      @@a.gul.m I know. I looked her up but could not find any performances in Bharatnatyam. Some Odissi and mostly Kathak. I did see an interview with her where she mentions that she learnt multiple disciplines as her guru did not believe in restricting oneself to a specific dance form. So, I am sure she has had some Bharatnatyam training.

    After releasing coke studio season 14 especially "Pasoori" by ali sethi and shae gill, there is no hatred comments on social media but lots of praising from India and Bangladesh which is great achievement. Music breaks the barrier of border and enmity.

    the classical (lady) dancer is a relative (distant aunt) of mine... she has been promoting bharatnatyam and kathak throughout v many difficult yrs of censorship in Pakistan...(esp of music and dance - that too of women in particular in the media) I am so proud she is still relevant today

      @@manz007 women dancing on TV were censored under various regimes. no matter how respectable and classical through the lens of extremism it was deemed vulgar to parade women doing such things
      .. thankfully its not like that now

      Secondly, bharatnatyam and kathak are both indian forms of classical dances, so i guess this could be one reason for censorship along with women stereotyping as u mentioned

      @@mayankchoudhary8361 oh I see you think I meant it was censored because it was Kathak or bharatnatyam. No I meant even in the days of Nazia Hassan with her disco numbers she wasn't allowed to do more than just sway on television as it was not appropriate for women to dance on television. So in those days singers had to release videos on VHS where they could dance (especially opposite a male) which weren't allowed transmission.

      I prefer their songs in the Pakistani native languages more than the Urdu ones. Even this song is majorly in Punjabi and my god I love the way the Pakistani Punjabi sounds! My other favourites are their songs in Saraiki, Sindhi and Pashto!

      I wonder if there was any need for partition at all. We are literally the same people, just divided by a barbed fence. There is no difference at all. Religion? I don't consider it a difference, it brings more similarity rather.

    Please react to Kana Yaris and Neray Neray Vas, both which are from this season of Coke Studio. Both songs have singing and rap mixed together and Kana Yaari features one of the first Pakistani female rappers. Also, Coke Studio Pakistan always includes subtitles so all you have to do is turn captions on to see the lyrics translation.

    🌸 Coke Studio is such a treasure of great artistry in music that you can easily watch one Coke Studio song a week and will not be done for a long while. 🌟 Which is not surprising, since they’ve been doing this for 14 years. 💟 For now I’d recommend my favorite of the current season so far: *Kana Yaari* by Kaifi Khalil, Eva B & Abdul Wahab Bugti. 😍🤩🥳

    If only you guys could dive deeper into Hindustani classical music from Pakistan. They have produced some of the greatest masters of Hindustani music. NFAK, Mehedi Hassan, Ghulam Ali....I can't even spell their names without touching my ears, they are legends, they are all geniuses.
    For that to happen, you need hell good translators and also a bit more knowledge about history of the subcontinent.

It is a political statement about all and every kind of borders and boundaries. Please look at the bts video also. This isn’t just music, it is art.
