I have never connected with an artist the way I do with dodie. It's so strange how she expresses the exact feelings I have but have never told anyone about. I think it's really hard as a guy to express any emotion (other than anger) because men are supposed to be "tough" and all the other bullshit but dodie's lyrics are so real and so raw because she's honest and doesn't try to hide from her emotions.
It's really truly amazing and I just wish I could thank her for just being her and giving this guy something to truly emotionally connect with. It means more than I could ever say. ❤️❤️

a long ramble about why i love every single song on this ep: 'in the middle' makes me wanna lip sync along in front of the mirror and make up a silly dance lol. '6/10' i find is so relatable and just perfectly sums up how i feel all the time. 'instrumental' is so beautiful and the song title makes me laugh bc it's literally what it is. an instrumental. called instrumental. 'you' has a groovy beat and seems like the perfect song to play for the end credits of a movie. when i listened to 'secret for the mad' i cried so hard bc i'm going through shit right now (aren't we all) and the simple instrumental combined with the background harmonies just gets to me every time and now i'm crying again just thinking about it. and 'would you be so kind' just brings a smile to my face and i love everything about it. amazing job with intertwined dodie it's seriously a masterpiece and we're all so fucking proud of you x

Okay, somehow I missed Secret for the Mad when you posted it 8 months ago, so the release of this EP was the first time I heard it. Needless to say that I've spent the past two days listening to it on repeat, sobbing. Didn't know I needed it until I heard it. So grateful for you and your music.
Okay also, I know everyone is in love with the lyric "There will be a day when you can say you're okay and mean it," which I also love, but the one that hits me the hardest is "I get that I don't get it." I just wish more people were more comfortable with the fact that they won't understand, but just being there and listening is SO helpful and healing.

Secret for the mad brings a tear to my eye every time I hear it! I resonate so much to that song because I know that I can be difficult and push people away when I'm in a drop so, I absolutely adore hearing it as if it's someone trying to get through to me during those times

I literally leaped out of bed this morning to listen to this EP. After leaping about my room for a while I began sobbing. It's so beautiful to see someone accomplish so much completely on their own. This EP felt like a landmark. People will listen to this on CDs and on Spotify without having to open CZcams or be introduced in this shaded way. I'm so proud of you!

Once in a while you get a video (or an EP more like) that just makes you feel every emotion in 5 minutes in one hell of a ride. I only wish I could like this a million times. Thanks dodie, you're incredible, and your songwriting is phenomenal - it's real and I love it so.
