Really pleased to hear you prefer the Onyx 38 over the Fox! Your analysis is correct regarding the crown size, it's very important to have a very stiff/strong crown to control the leverage that 180mm's of travel generates. The "other" guys prioritize weight reduction, we prioritize stiffness & control while keep weight at a minimum.

I really like DVO. My son runs the Onyx D 1 170 on his Ripmo AF and the Jade X coil on the rear. I really like that OTT system and we never had an issue with it. I have been considering this fork for my E bike. Sounds like the super light is the way to go. I really like Bobby and Will at DVO. Can’t wait to see what you think of the Topaz. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yea man, It’s such a noticeable improvement over the prior Onyx version. Waiting on the new Topaz Prime (announced at Sea Otter) to be made available for order

You replaced the X2 for a RS super deluxe ultimate? Which one do you like better. Just curious.
Temporarily borrowing the RS while the new Topaz releases. I personally like the RS more than the X2. Feels a lot more composed with straight forward dials (not complicated)

@@travelthenarrowtrail8660 I just learned about the new Topaz Prime last week; Sea Otter classic week. Initially my plan was to run full RS but soon as I threw on the Onyx I was sold. I’ll be buying the topaz hopefully sooner rather than later
My dvo 38 that came on my bike has bushing bind of some sort, sounds horrid and Struggles to smoothly move through travel, is currently at DVO. :(

Really sorry you had an issue with the Onyx 38 & we really need to understand what went wrong. We have implemented many new machining & Quality Control / Quality Assurance standards throughout our entire product line and tight bushings are not what we want. Did you reach out to DVO USA? We will get it replaced in a heartbeat and we do need to see what happened. Thanks, Bryson

They asked if I was interested in trying it out. If I didn’t like it I’d gladly return it. But I see where you’re coming from
