    With the use of reverse thrusters, it’s much cheaper to maintain/replace aircraft brakes than it is to maintain/replace aircraft engines. If the runways long enough and conditions are favourable, some airlines might have a procedure where they only use Autobrskes to save the engine from having to spool up again and provide reverse thrust

    Question: you often talk about airport security being "automated" (or not) - what exactly do you mean by this? The trays being more or less on an automated system (like at Gold Coast) or something else?
    Thiught: you mentioned pricing. Not sure when you shot this - prior to Dec at least. I note WMQF over the last month or so have dropped J one way to $450 with a few weeks AP(not a sale fare, but limited inventory in I class) - probably the Rex and VA effect. Maybe when you give pricing examples to give an approx date? People viewing in the future of course will be put of date (always a problem with giving such comparisions of course).
    (In general though you are right that QF price at a premium over the others for sure. Glad you really enjoyed the experience though! Good to see a pretty positive QF review)

      @Aviation763  Před 7 měsíci

      Fair question, I realise that would be confusing so I’m working my on that. Correct, the vast majority of security these days is automated to some extent, but when I say that I mean compared to the basics, for example if you have to take laptops out, shoes of or stuff like the trays yeah. Yeah wow, I just checked and saw that too! That’s a big difference, hopefully that price is here to stay. I don’t think it was like that when I filmed this in August. Yeah good idea, with my newer videos though I speak about the price in a different way, because prices are changing all the time atm. Thanks!

    hey mate! I need a tip from you. On your virgin australia trip reports, how do you screen record the entertainment system? I was thinking I would do it on my upcoming trip report to Launceston on wednesday. If you can help me, great, otherwise don't worry about it.

    • @Aviation763
      @Aviation763  Před 7 měsíci

      If you’re on iPhone, go to control centre and click the plus on screen recording for it to appear in the swipe down menu. Hopefully that helps!

    • @Aviation763
      @Aviation763  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Thank you, good question. I think they are similar to last year in terms of service, maybe a tiny bit better, but worse in terms of delays and cancellations. Still not close to what they were before covid though. Just not worth the money tbh.

    You are doing a great job. How about First Class domestic. And I repeat First Class it does not exist today. What you experienced in Qantas having is a poor economy meal service, In respect to you as you are a young child. Today is mass travel. Ansett 1970 - 1990 B727 737 flights were better economy hot meals and booze.

      A bit patronising there imo. Yes I too remember the days of 3 class service on the AN 727 (flying F MEL-CBR was ridiculous lol) but reality is yes much has changed.. some for the better.. some for the worse.

    • @ansett7272

      @@RichardMEL-777 Not patronising just stating facts and experience. Flew AN CBR-SYD on Boeing 737-377 First Class 1987 wow what service it was super on a short flight hot meal with booze and smoking allowed. They were the days! AN cabin crew were efficient fast and accommodating on this short sector! The term First Class is a seperate to Business Class. Yes 3 class service was around at the time with AN and TN domestic and flew TN TAA in those days in Business that was 15% surcharge on full fare economy. First Class was 50% over full fare economy with AN and TN both two airline policy at the time. The other end of the scale there was Super Apex Fares discounted 45% return off economy fare but book no later than 45 days in advance. I can go further Apex fares 30% off and more Standby fares whoo and more. They were the days simple and carbon tickets and save great service. I will stop here.
