Have you been to Singapore before? What was your favourite thing to see and do there? I would love to know so leave a comment below! :)
Would highly recommend the zoo, bird park and the botanical gardens. Changi war museum for WW2 buffs. Foods to try: prawn noodles, satay, chicken rice, murtabak, black carrot cake. Ask your local concierge for where to go to eat.
This has been so helpful for my trip planning! Thank you!
I’m so glad you found my video helpful! Have a lovely trip! 🙂
Fantastic video Larissa! Filled with some much awesome information and amazing images of Singapore!! Definitely worth visiting!
Thanks heaps Steve! Was a mission but got there in the end! Lol. Singapore is an awesome travel destination! :)
Thanks Larissa, I've just found your channel and I'm really impressed by your really thorough commentary and trip advice. My husband and I are going in March, it's over 20 years since we've been so we can't wait.
Thanks so much for the kind words Dale! I hope you have a wonderful time over there which I’m sure you will! It’s such a great place! 😊
Okay so I now want to go! Wow! I didn't realise there was so much to see and do in Singapore! Awesome video Larissa!
Thanks Hannah! Im so glad you enjoyed the video! :)
Thank you for capturing Singapore so beautifully in your videos and photos :)
Thanks so much for watching and leaving a lovely comment! 😊🙏🏼
Congrat's ...Great video, pictures and audio.
Thank you for the amazing job !
Take care.
Thankyou so much for you kind words Antonio! 🙂🙏🏼
The Botanical Garden is a great, free place to visit. Very scenic. If you’re into hiking, Bukit Timah is a good challenge. The Souther Ridges and MacRitchie Reservoir have good trails to walk as well. There’s an island out by Punggol (can’t remember the name) that is pretty nice, though the MRT trip takes a while.
We visit often, as my wife has relatives there. Hotels are plentiful, but pretty high priced. Hawker centers and Kopitiams (coffee shops) can take some of the sting out of your food budget.
Thankyou so much for the tips! The island sounds interesting! 😊
@@LarissaDening It's Coney Island!
amazing vlog Larissa ! have to say your photographs are awesome. amazing vlog as well. visiting sg next month ... seems like sg has a lot of photographic places ! can't wait !!!!
Thank you so much for your lovely comment! Yes there are a lot of awesome places to photograph in Singapore! It’s such a cool place with so many things to see and do! I hope you have an awesome time! 😊
Thank you for your beautiful feature of my little island nation! ❤
Thank you so much watching and leaving a lovely comment! 💙
What an incredible trip you must have had Larissa! Brilliant video!
Thanks Leah! It was such a fun couple of days! ;)
I've only been there as a stop over and never got off the plane! Next time it will part of the trip! Perfect first timers video Larissa!
Thanks Jane! Yes definitely check it out. I was the same until this trip! :)
Great video, thanks for sharing. I was there with my wife in April last year and I really need to go back again, so much to see and do.
Thanks so much Andrew! It’s a really fun place isn’t it! 😊
Great tips for a Singapore trip.
Thankyou so much! 🙂
I have been to Singapore 3 times myself and seen all the main tourist spots but I will say that Botanical Gardens was worth a visit. Even Orchard Road at night is cool too even though I don't like shopping lol
I agree, the botanic gardens is beautiful. Orchard Road was fun to ride through! 🤣
Excellent video with lot of information and tips
Thankyou so much for watching and commenting! 😊🙏🏼
Well done! Beautiful people, beautiful video. Nicely shot n compiled. Enjoyed watching it ❤😊
Thankyou so much! I’m so glad you enjoyed it! 😊
Thank you it was very informative.
Thanks so much for watching and commenting! 😊
I am going to Singapore soon.
Spectacular there Larissa great video presentation thanks. I passed through Singapore a few years ago went to the spectacular Orchid Gardens inside the botanic gardens was amazing and I can recommend visiting there. I need to go to Singapore again !
Hi Max, Thanks so much for stopping by! We were going to see the Orchid Gardens but a big storm hit and we had to wait it out for 45 minutes which left us no time to see it! I will have to go there next time I visit Singapore! :)
Yes the orchid garden air conditioned section is almost like a very very mini version of Flower dome and cloud forest.
Was such a good trip, great video to remember it by! x
Thanks babe! It was a fun few days! Loved it! x
Amazing video and explanation of the places you have visited.
Thankyou so much for your kind words! Much appreciated! 🙂🙏🏼

Amazing still shots you got there!
Love them all ....👏👏👏😍
Thankyou so much! I really appreciate your kind words! 😊
1:42 this old man selling hand puppets and masks was a real character. I took photo of him before in the 80s
Thank you, this is very informative and useful for planning my trip
I’m so glad you found this helpful! Thanks for letting me know! 😊
Your photos are stunning. Love them.
Thankyou so much! 😊🙏🏼
Nice clip! Hope u visit Singapore again and discover new places.
Thankyou so much! I hope to visit again soon. I definitely fell in love with Singapore!
Great vid Larissa!
Thankyou! 😀
Your clip is the best so fr I have seen. Good pictures and editing, well done
Thankyou so much. I really appreciate your kind words! 😊
You no longer need an EZ-Link card to take public transportation in Singapore. You can just use contactless payment with Visa/Mastercard
Oh that’s good to know! 👍🏼
Will it cost you more though?
@@piaprudencio872nope
It sounds like there’s an extra 50 cents per ride
I've watch on some CZcams channel that someone do the comparison on Ezlink vs visa/master said it's round up/accumulate your 1 day transaction and charged 0.5cent on those.
We're glad you enjoyed your time here! Come back soon :)
Thankyou so much! I will definitely be back again! 😊
Aiseh, visitSingapore comment sia!! 😅👍🏼👍🏼
Good cinematography 👍
Scenes are well edited and stitched together
Thankyou so much! 😊
thank you for the info about the cloud forest avatar experience 🥰🥰🥰 I didn't know it got extended! New info for me ☺
I’m glad I could help! Thanks for watching! 😊💕
8:20 you are so adventurous to get to this side of the river. It is a road less travelled. I have only gone there for like three times via a bicycle. It is very challenging to go on foot.
Haha, when there is a certain photo I want to get I am very determined. It was actually really lovely riding along that side of the river at night! 😊
Very well curated and commentary vlog, Larisa! The Singapore Tourist Promotion Board should engage you to promote your vlog of Singapore!😊
Oh thankyou so much for the kind words! That would be lovely wouldn’t it! 😊
I love visiting in Singapore. Many great things to see for free!! I was shocked when I was in KL, I had to pay to go into a nature park!
Oh really. I am doing a Penang video next. I didn’t get time to go to KL but did much prefer Singapore over Penang! 🙊
my 9 y/o and I are going there in Oct for 3 days before heading back to the US... we are looking forward to it!
Oh nice!! Have a great time! It’s such a fun place! 😊
Very nicely produced video. And you reminded me of the actress from How I met Your Mother
Thankyou so much! Haha, I’ve never been told that before but I do see the resemblance a little now that I think about it! 😊
@@LarissaDening She was also in Avengers working along side with Nick Fury
You can find ice kachang in most of the hawker centers and food courts all over the island.
I think the shop that sells them were closed each time I went! Hopefully next time I visit I will get one! 😊
@@LarissaDeningyeah most dessert stall doesn't operate that late in hawker centres.
Great video!
Thankyou 😊
What a lovely video !! Have a four day layover (includes our 7.30am arrival in SG, giving us at least the afternoon/evening on our first day) this coming December and plan to do some of the attractions in your video. Eye watering entrance fees to some of the attractions though. We plan to visit Jewel at Changi on our arrival. Jewel waterfall opens at 10am I have read. Have booked a little hotel in Chinatown which was quite reasonable considering some of the hotel prices. So entrance fees is going to be our biggest expense.
Thanks Mark! Singapore is so much fun! I will be doing a short video on Changi airport and Jewel next so stay tuned for that! 😊
@@LarissaDening Look forward to that. If it’s anything like your other travel vids, we’re in for a treat 👍
Hais....all visit chinatown little india but no one visits kampung glam.
Cheap good food
-changi village
-seah im food centre
-whampoa food market
-geylang
-jalan besar food centre
-bedok interchange food centre
-balestier road food centre
-tanjong pagar food centre
-ice kachang at fork and spoon toa payoh
She did visit kampung Glam. The Arab street area.
I will add all of that to my list for next time I visit! Especially the ice Kachang spot! 😊
Thanks for your effort 👏
Thanks for watching’ 😊
There’s universal studio on Sentosa island, cheapest in Asia. Do go on weekdays where the crowd is lesser
Thankyou for the tip! I would love to go there on my next visit! 😊
I'll be at HIE Clarke Quay in October. Great film and new subscriber
Oh nice! Have a great time and thanks so much for subscribing! 😊🙏🏼
As a Singaporean I know how fun it is.
Lucky you! 😊

This is brilliant. So helpful to my planning. Thank you. The activities did you pay on-line before? (Like Klook), or did you pay on the day for events. (I note NO REFUNDS etc if Lightning around or High Winds on certain activities.) The Sim Cards scare me a little. I don't want to accidently lock my iPhone to a foreign network. I am staying in Marina Bay area. (Expensive for Hotels).
Thanks so much for your lovely comment. We paid on the day for any activities that required payment. The SIM card was very easy to use, we had no problems with it at all! Marina Bay Area is beautiful! A lot to see and do there! 😊
Online booking of the cloud forest and forest fantasy conservatories is recommended to avoid wasting your time queuing at the ticket counter. Search for online apps that allow this as some apps give you discounted rates
Marina Bay on the boat at night and the Gardens in side and outside , the Shangra La hotel swimming pool and the best breakfast
Will try those things next time! 😊
hi great video, we are going for the first time in April just a couple of questions if you dont mind, what was the breakfast at the Holiday inn Express, and was the road it is on noisy???
Thankyou! The breakfast was great at Holiday Inn express. We got breakfast included in our package and there was every option you could think of to eat! Western and Eastern style breakfast foods! We didn’t find it noisy at all! Couldn’t hear a thing outside! 🙂
Any recommendations for budget hotels?
Did you do the Birds Paradise and Zoological Garden at Mandai in Singapore?
No we didn’t! Is it worth a visit?
What time it will get dark on Singapore?8pm?
Very informative thank you. I am visiting Singapore in November. One important question - how did you keep your hair not frizzy in that humid temps? Any tips? I am visiting from much cooler weather area of the USA and always struggle with frizzy hair :) your hair looks great in your videos !!!
Aww thankyou so much. I didn’t do anything to my hair. I just washed it and let it air dry. There was no point blow drying or straightening as the sweat and humidity just made it wavy again! I hope it’s not too hot for you on your trip! 😊
So excited to find this! I'm going from Sydney on a cruise next year and the last stop in Singapore. I'm doing my research. Great tips. How did you find the currency exchange and knowing how to pay with cash?
Yay! They will be exciting! Thanks for watching and I’m glad you found it helpful. Exchange rate is pretty similar. I think Australian dollar is a little bit stronger. A lot of places take cash or card. It’s no issue! 😊
It’s the other way around. The Singapore dollar has in recent times strengthened above the Aussie dollar. The Singdollar will now (as on 21 Dec 2023) get you about A$1.11, or conversely, A$1.00 = S0.90.
Many places in Singapore will take cards, but not to the extent as Sydney does. Therefore do have cash on hand if you are patronising hawker centres (about S$10 per meal per person) or small shop, market stalls or coffee shops (note this is NOT Starbucks and other cafes… these DO take cards), small shops. Just about all stores in shopping centres and restaurants will accept cards.
People are pretty happy to accept cash in denominations from 10 cents to $50. Some won’t want to take 5 cent coins (supermarkets will) and $100 notes may elicit a grimace from some.
Try visiting hawker centres in the heartlands where most locals live to get a truly authentic local experience
Thanks for the tip! 😊
Hawker food tastes terrible most of time.
@@jc31312jch You must not go to good hawker centres.
@@stevenelson3515 '' GOOD hawker centre ''...
isn't cheap street/hawkers should be edible? instead of GOING TO the very specific place to eat the specific stalls meanwhile as a whole they taste bad? No offence Singapore is good at a lot of things, I am just bothered by people dare to encourage foreigners to experience the so called ''Hawker food culture''. Most Singaporeans might think food is fine since they grown up eating them. But I have heard Indonesian, Malaysian, Philipino, taiwanese, china people have negative view about hawker food.
@@jc31312jch Uh…..I’m a foreigner. I’ve been to some excellent hawker centres in Sing. Chomp Chomp, Old Airport Road, East Coast Lagoon, Koran, Hong Lim…..they all have a number of excellent stalls with very tasty food. Of course, they also have some that are not very good.
Generally, I’m not a fan of street food, mainly because most street food is prepared…..well…..along the street…..so I worry about cleanliness due to car exhaust. That’s not an issue in Sing’s hawker centres, nor in most places in Japan that serve food in similar environments.
I saw your facebook page and youtube channel you are doing very well. Your photography is very beautiful. It would be great to have more subscribers on your CZcams channel
Thankyou so much for the kind words! Haha! It would be great to have more subscribers! I agree! 😊
Great vblog from an Ozzie perspective.
Thankyou so much! 😊
Hi! Love your video! Two questions! That first picture among the ones you took from the Skyway, was that actually taken from the bridge? Looked like you could see the trees from afar so was just curious. Second, what is the name of the last dish that you showed on your part about hawkers?
Thankyou so much! Yes all those photos were taken from the Skywalk and the dish at the end is called Tau Yew Bak which is braised pork belly with dark soy sauce! 😊
@@LarissaDening Thank you!!! you’re so great for responding!!!!! I’m leaving in a few days! So excited!!!
For char kuay teow I recommend the best one at 02-17 Outram fried kuay teow mee at Hong Lim market and food centre czcams.com/video/RS9X4w0P-gY/video.html. For chicken rice I recommend B1-35 Golden Mile food centre czcams.com/video/Vj6XwimK1CE/video.html
Thanks so much for the recommendation! I will check it out next time I’m in Singapore! 😊👋
@@LarissaDening Cheers.
Hey guys, about sim cards, I would advice buying a tourist sim card in Singapore at any convenience store for like 10SGD, you get 100GB of Data
Thanks for the advice! 😊
Love from Mars
Hello from Earth! 😊
Hey just wondering what back packs you both had
Cheers
Hi, the brand is called Kamrette. It’s an awesome camera bag!
It really surprises me that you couldn’t find an ice kachang. They are just about available in every food court and hawker centre.
I know! I was so disappointed we couldn’t find one but we did have plenty in Malaysia! 😊
Its been like that since 2019 so someone didn’t do much research, it tells you in all the stations and on the tap in/ out machines, it’s called using your eyes
Are you ok?
Love from India 😊
Thankyou! 😊
what times does the light show in are science museum happen? thank you!
I’m not too sure. It would probs my start after the Spectra Lightshow I’m guessing which is on at 8pm
@@LarissaDening thank you
Another place worth visiting is SEA Aquarium at Sentosa, it’s the second or third largest in the world.
It is upgrading to an oceanarium in due course I heard
That sounds like it’s worth visiting. I will add it to my list for next time! 🙂
Do they accept credit card at the hawker centres and most other places in Singapore?
Hawker Centres typically no. Most other places yes.
We found most places accept both. Card is become more common at the hawker centres!
It varies. Some hawker centres accept credit cards. Some don't. Some accept Google pay, apple pay or cash cards (these are cards with stored value...which u can top up at most Atm machines)
👍
Thankyou! 😊
Masal "Dossy"? Dosai?
?
@@LarissaDening It's not a "Dossy". It's a "Dosai".
If you come to Singapore in July, you can see Singapore National Day Parade rehearsal fireworks = czcams.com/video/PIdaFRR92-E/video.html
Oh lovely! I will keep that in mind for my next trip! 😊
@@LarissaDeningyes in the month of July to 9 Aug, on Saturday evenings, national day parades would be running. And usually ends with a Fireworks in the middle of the river between MBS and the merlion. You might also catch military hardware on the roads and in the skies. The con is that movement would be very much restricted in the area for crowd control
How to be on budget when everything also must pay and are very expensive in Singapore?
There are plenty of free or cheap activities! 😊
Eat at hawker centres! Avoid restaurants and eating in hotels. Some hawker centres are pricier than others...lau pa sat (tends to be a tad pricier but that's because it is a tourist attraction) likewise Newton hawker Centre is also a tourist trap. Food courts which are air conditioned tends to be a bit pricier.
When are you going back ? I want to go but don't want to go alone . Am 64 yrs old woman ( young at heart ) 😀
Haha! I will let you know. No plans at this stage though! 😊
@@LarissaDening ok thank you
