      And so understandable. The lure of physical and intimate love between two human beings is strong.
      Just today I came across a poem by Rimbaud, titled "Sensation".
      Rimbaud describes the sensation of walking in nature on a gorgeous summer evening. A gentle breeze in the face, everything is alive and rich in fragrance and color.
      "And I go far, real far, like a Bohemian,
      in nature, joyous as with a woman."

  • @CalWillify
    @CalWillify Před 4 lety +9

    Wow, so beautiful 🙏💗. It is NOT about being "corrupt" or "pure". It is about joy. The other disciples were worried that Ananda (literally meaning "bliss" in Sanskrit) would go to the women and because she was so beautiful, and a master of sensuality, would "convert" Ananda. When the disciples heard them laughing and dancing so joyfully, they were convinced that Ananda found a deeper joy than that of the Buddha. (Because they themsleves had not attained that level?) But the Buddha was confident because he is "enlightened"; that is, he has reached the highest states of Nirvana whose bliss is ultimate. Therefore, when the woman experienced a taste of this bliss through contact with Ananda, she was wise enough to know it is something she has never experienced before. She is willing to give up everything to know this joy and follow the way of Ananda and Buddha. They have what she wants: Unbridled joy beyond all senses. This is an example of the "Nirvana" of Buddhism or the "Shoonya" of classical yoga, the ultimate longing of sentient beings.

    Monks: this is it - he's gone!
    They really didn't get the whole middle way thingy, huh?

    • @deela262
      @deela262 Před 4 lety +5

      Middle way is going forth ( giving up the way of the ordinary wordings, in search of Liberation from Suffering. ) after abandoning the two extreams of sensory indulgence as well as self mortification..., practicing self restraint ( shedding evilness , becoming compassionate, forbearing and virtuous )...., gradually training the mind to give up desire for sense pleasures Seeing their Dangers...., arousing Joy through Purity of heart..., leading to inner Calmness of mind....., which is conducive to developing Wisdom through Discernment. All this is possible only to the extent to which one is ready to surrender oneself to the Expisitions and Instructions of the Greatest Master, The Buddha.
      The code of conduct for Buddhist monks is different to that of householders .
      The principles of the Middle Path is the same for any desciple.
      Middle Path is a rigorous training guide for those who get weary of the world, and wants a final solution.
      The practitioner is taught to become good hearted, strong willed , focused, calm and Awoke to the inherent, inescapable, harsh realities that befalls all living beings.... Through repeated, aurderous efforts , Realising that No One is spared, he will be Repelled enough to burn out the karmic forces that gives rebirth.

    • @Jay-tu9vf
      @Jay-tu9vf Před 2 lety

      That has nothing to do with the middle way , avoiding sense pleasures is the most important thing for spiritual progress.
      These things are not fun they are the very cause of suffering buddha teaches to overcome.
      True inner peace comes from detachment of those things.
      The middle path means finding balance in everything you do , sleeping , eating etc.
      Such "fun" is not included because it is only suffering.
      The middle way means finding the b

    • @DamianSzajnowski
      @DamianSzajnowski Před 2 lety

      @@Jay-tu9vf yes, balance, as in enjoying the little things and pleasures, neither avoiding them altogether - that's textbook asceticism nor getting lost in them - that would be hedonism. Moderation seems to be key, while I'd agree that a bit of detachment helps with the practice of spiritual development or observation aka meditation, I'd argue it's neither crucial nor necessary.

    • @Jay-tu9vf
      @Jay-tu9vf Před 2 lety

      @@DamianSzajnowski it's more than necessary, to understand why we need to understand what Buddhism is trying to achieve. Essentially , like most eastern religions it tries to overcome suffering. And one of the central teachings is that you are not the body. There is in fact "no self" according to Buddhism.
      This disidentification with the body can not be achieved if one's life evolves around gratifying his body because one thinks he is it.
      Moderation is only taught to keep the body healthy so you might continue on your spiritual journey without health issues, buddha practised intense ascetic practises before, which almost caused him to die of starvation , which is why he (most likely) puts strong emphasis on the "middle way".
      That does not mean indulging in sense pleasures is encouraged , no matter how little it may be.
      Especially not sexual activities , these are as the buddha said "a tragic death to spiritual seekers".
      Additionally these sense pleasures are all impermanent and indulging in them will only attach you to them , which means you are attached to things that are bound to change / go away which leads to suffering. The absence creates new desires and the chase to fulfill new desires begins.
      It is a vicious circle which causes people to be reborn according to Buddhism.
      Quote :
      As the wind overthrows a weak tree,
      So does Mara overpower him
      Who lives attached to sense pleasures,
      Who lives with his senses uncontrolled,
      Who knows not moderation in his food,
      And who is indolent and inactive.
      As the wind does not overthrow a rocky mount,
      So Mara indeed does not overpower him
      Who lives unattached to sense pleasures,
      Who lives with his sense well-controlled,
      Who knows moderation in his food,
      And who is full of faith and high vitality.
      Even as rain gets into an ill-thatched house,
      Even so lust penetrates an undeveloped mind.
      Even as rain gets not into a well-thatched house,
      Even so lust penetrates not a well-developed mind

    What a beautiful message! And I love the execution of your videos; nice images, beautiful, calm and relaxing music and the voice sounds very soothing.
    I'm beginning to think that all of that is done to make the messages you would like to get across easier to understand.

    So true. Everywhere, I see
    People judge others quickly.
    We see mistakes to correct
    Or seek professional help.
    Judging is very destructive.
    Teach me if i'm wrong.

    When you are truly awakened to the truth, hypocrisy will be far from you. If you think too much of somebody else's filth, possibly you yourself are not spotless or can be easily contaminated. I guess I should try to look more strictly on my personal faults and be lenient to others instead?
