I made one of these a few years ago for my rats and they chewed it apart. Totally forgot about it till now. Super great idea for the ferrets!

I’m trying to keep my ferret from pooping in a certain corner of her cage. Her litter box won’t fit there, plus she’s already used to where it’s at now and I don’t want to confuse her. Would this be a good option to put in that corner to keep her from pooping there? Or will she just poop in there? I’m hoping it’ll be small enough where she won’t be comfortable enough to pop a squat in lol but figured I’d ask a pro.

You could definitely try it, although she may try to move it, so you might want to add a tab in the back so you can secure it to the cage.
One of the things that worked really well for me was making sure that all the corners were filled either with a litter box or something super soft like fleece or beds. They typically won’t not poop where they sleep, I actuality got some fleece scraps and cut and tied it to the corners of cage so they couldn’t move it away with their feet and then use the corner to poop. It didn’t take very long for them to use the litter box pretty consistently. They still have accidents occasionally on the floor, but it’s rare. They never poop in their cage anymore, except for in the litter box that I keep in there!
Also, in this video I used a batting that was too thin and the cave didn’t keep its shape the way I was hoping. I now use Pellon 971 fusible fleece on almost everything that I want to hold its shape or I use a much thicker batting.

Can you make it without the fleece?

You could make it with cotton. It actually might be easier to sew if you used cotton, fleece is just super soft. A lot if times, I use cotton on the outside and fleece on the inside.

@@FerretTails okay but is that x2 mean 4 triangles and 4 rectangles or just 2 triangles and 2 rectangles?

@@danielhyde6792 if you don’t use fleece, you would still need the pierces, so you would need 4 pieces of fabric and 4 pieces of cotton batting or fusible fleece, I started using fusible fleece a few months ago and it works so much better than the cotton batting. You can get it at Joann Fabric or Amazon that I know if www.joann.com/pellon-fusible-fleece-bolt-white/529412.html
