- Jazz version of CFE Bach-s rondo espressivo
The L.A. Four (or The L.A. 4) was a jazz quartet that performed in Los Angeles California from 1974 to 1982. Its members were guitarist Laurindo Almeida, saxophonist and flutist Bud Shank, bassist Ray Brown, and drummer Shelly Manne, replaced by Jeff Hamilton after 1977. They performed a mixture of straight-ahead jazz on the "cool" side, influenced by European Classical music, and bossa nova and samba (Almeida was born in Brazil). They recorded nine albums before disbanding. Chuck Flores was the group's original drummer but did not record with them. - Hudba

It is so nice of you to share this magical music! I was new to the L.A region upon my return from my life in Brasil. These were one of my first and favorite musician in Los Angeles in the 70's. I've been looking for their music for decades! Thank you ever so much for bringing this music back to my ears! Laurindo Almeida, Ray Brown. . . .married to Ella Fitzgerald? Wow! Thanks for the additional trivia!

I have an opened but Mint condition copy of this album...my school gave away all of its vinyls and this was one. They used to have them in the library, but none of them were ever played because of some snafu with the school office. So yeah....I have a lot of these kinda things, never played...until now! any idea what this would be worth?
