Went into the gun store to check out a Springfield Emissary (beautiful pistol) and the clerk showed one of these 2020s to me and I was astonished by the weight and features. I might be getting one of these.
Gorgeous rifle, and what brought me here was the fact that this rifle is nearly identical to the Weatherby Mark V Carbonmark Elite that I just purchased 2 months ago.

Too bad I can't find 6.5 PRC rounds for less than what I pay for 338 lapua...
I have found them online at Green Acres sporting goods for around $70. I have paid $120 for them and that is more than I pay for 50 BMG.
They were $1.50/round before the shortage and went up to $6.50/round during it. Other than if you're just hunting with it that's why you don't go into a caliber like 6.5prc at all unless you can you afford to stack enough ammo/reloading components to burn out at least a couple of barrels.

@@AlabamaArsenal who made the 1903 Springfield? Wasn’t that a bolt action? Come on bubba, read a history book, or talk to an old serviceman...my dad was still shooting the 1903 Springfield alongside the M14 and the M1 Garand in the early 60’s

@@AlabamaArsenal it was in fact Springfield armory who made the 1903... however it was owned an operated by the government in Springfield Massachusetts. 1974 I believe is when the current Springfield armory we all know and love was established.

Awesome video once again guys. Simply top notch. You have the best filmed and editing of any gun channel I have viewed. I am watching the video on an iPhone 12 Pro. I noted the beginning says 720p60fps and in the middle it switched to 1080p60fps. Did you film at different resolutions or was this a CZcams algorithm? Do you film at 4K and then resize? You really do put out first rate videos. When I bought my Scar 20s I really didn’t know how to set it up so I copied yours and love it. I have decided to keep my Waypoint as light as possible so I went with a cheap nylon sling, no Bipod and a Burris scope. The reason for the Burris scope is, well I just bought a Scar 20 and a Waypoint lol. I did want 6.5 PRC instead of 6.5 Creedmoor but the Creed is all I could find. I do have a Christensen Arms Ridgleline in 6.5 PRC. I have been paying more for 6.5 PRC than 50 BMG

good review. thx. tip for the shooter at 8:10 - he will get a lot better consistency and accuracy if he squares up straight behind the rifle and keeps his face on the gun throughout the string of fire. (not being a jerk, just trying to help)

Dang good review , I shoot 6.5 Creed more in a new Browning Hells Canyon Max Long Range and it's pretty fine. I like this Springfield Waypoint and would make a nice edition to my Hunting L.R. builds that are versitilal for any situation. Springfield has been a go to for many different needs , with their 1911s and M1A rifles , Springfield is at the top ! Thanks for a great review Stay Strong 💪 🇺🇸😎

Did you do 3 & 5 shot groups with this rifle, did the groups open up after 5 shots? Just curious to see if these carbon barrels perform just as Springfield Armory do.

I waited months for this rifle. To include calling Springfield and inquiring its release dates.( multiple times....lolololol)
I must say it was worth the wait. 6.5 in CF and it definitely got some heads turned when I set it down at the range. Only have about 60 rounds thru it and for my first bolt gun, Im glad I chose this one over any others on the market.

Great review as always! Springfield used to be a company I pretty much wrote off a few years ago but now they’ve got a lot of great products and a much wider portfolio. It’s clear they’ve been listening to market demands.

You can find these street value for about 1900/1800 right now. Get the fixed stock with carbon barrel. Deadly accurate. Wish they made one in 7mag.

Nicely produced video! One question for you: I have three Atlas bipods but none have the adjusting lever that is facing to the rear on your Atlas? Is it an aftermarket accessory; if so, where can I find one? ( I have seen one for a Harris bipod...but not for an Atlas)

I think he has an Atlas CAL (cant and lock) that has a egw pod lock that allows you to adjust the tension.
Nice been meaning to go up to that range. If you ever want to shoot a video down in mobile we have a 1000 yard range over at silvercreek range.

I have a waypoint in .308 that I want to put a suppressor on. The BSF barrel states you can’t use more then 15ft/lbs on a muzzle device and the suppressor company wants you to use 45 ft/lbs on their muzzle device. What did you end up doing to mount yours?

Curious if you do any tracking tests on the scopes you shoot? Or can you tell that your dope is just off? I've seen cyclops do it at 100 yards. He's the only one I think.

Sorry about that I should have. They’re MDT 6.5PRC tuned mags from MDT. If you have a different caliber any AICS compatible magazine should work, but the tuned ones work better with the 6.5PRC. Thanks for watching!

What brand tripod is that?
Hope you saved your brass! You should spend that money on dies, powder and primers. I hardly ever get to the range much anymore but I couldn’t afford to go at all if I didn’t roll my own. Tuned rounds to your particular barrel with that gun could have you banging out single hole groups at 100 yards!
Looking into a new bolty. When they release a long action version I’m in.
I guess now I have to compare this new rifle to the bergaras I have been looking at.

How’s the barrel life on the 6.5 prc?
I loved my bergara b14 wilderness hmr 6.5 creedmoor a good bit better than the waypoint that I shot. The bolt was hanging up with me and the groups at 100yards were not as good as my bergara. But it was definitely a nice gun, just not as nice as the hmr.
