Does that mean, umar bin al khattab(RadiAllahu Anhu) conquered palestine illegally?
Listening to this video makes me realise why it is important to listen to the scholars, instead of listening to these "self-made scholars" who doesn't understand the religion of Allah as it is. They always sugar coat and water down this deen so they can be politically correct.
Treaty of Jerusalem: Umar and the Christian leaders of Jerusalem negotiated the terms of surrender. The key terms of the treaty included:
The Christian inhabitants of Jerusalem were guaranteed the protection of their lives, property, and religious freedom.
The Christian holy sites, including the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, were to be preserved and not harmed.

There is no historical record or evidence to suggest that Caliph Umar ibn al-Khattab claimed that Jerusalem was only owned by Muslims during or after its conquest. Instead, the historical accounts of the time and the treaty that Umar signed with the Christian leaders of the city clearly indicate that he respected the rights and religious freedom of the Christian inhabitants.
Umar's actions in Jerusalem were characterized by a commitment to justice and fairness. He did not engage in indiscriminate killing of innocent lives to achieve the conquest of Jerusalem. In fact, the treaty that he negotiated ensured the protection of the lives and property of the city's Christian inhabitants.
It's important to note that during the early Islamic conquests, while there were certainly military conflicts and battles, the treatment of non-Muslim populations varied depending on the circumstances and the leaders involved. Umar is often regarded as a just and fair leader who sought to protect the rights of religious minorities in the territories that came under Muslim control.
Historical records show that Umar's approach in Jerusalem was one of tolerance and respect for religious diversity, and the treaty he signed with the Christian leaders of the city reflected these principles. Maulana is wrong. It is mentioned in THE BOOK that Palestine was promised to them but then they committed excesses and we're dispossessed. This is also in THE BOOK that they will be subjected to being kicked around TILL THE DAY OF RESURRECTION unless they repent and walk aright.
This walk aright entails recognition of Prophet Mohammed & believing in Him and take THE BOOK as guide.
So where Maulana has told the first part, he didn't narrate the second important part.

God has assigned this land to jews because they were muslims at that time and were following their prophet. God has assigned this land to those who will worship Him in this land. He didn't give it to them simply because they were progenies of prophet ishaq. Which is why we muslims are the rightful heir of this land.
