Yes nasal is in for the purpose. Nasal tone is considered warm loving tone like how you talk to a child in this culture. So you will hear a lot of nasal because lot of songs are about love. Warm is nasal here not open. Open is more to designate strength and individuality.

yea the hindi version is chupke se! i realized that like two seconds into the video that ive heard this melody before and the hindi lyrics just came naturally to me! i never knew there was a south indian version as well (it's probably the original version i believe) i dont understand this language but it sounds as equally as beautiful as the hindi one, music really does transcend language! i literally have the same reaction as justin in all of his indian reaction videos, even though i understand some of the langauges lol indian music is uniquely beautiful

I am a regular viewer of his videos and as far as I watched, he is a vocal coach who loves to explore different music. If you check his channel you can find different music from different parts of the world. This will also help people from outside our land to recognize our music. So it is always a win win. So better let's stop finding fault in every small things and appreciate their efforts. Also, malayaalikalude oru thani swabaavam ingane ulla ellaa videosilum kaanam. Swayam pokkal.
