The fact that this show has multiple instances of Blair dating a royal who pretends to be a commoner to see if she likes him for the real him and she fails the test then tries to win him back when she learns the truth is so funny to me.

I know Mike is not the one who started this long-form recap trend and even though more and more people are doing these kinds of videos recently, Mike's impeccable blend of season/episode analyses, memes, trivia, pop culture references, music playlist, creative twists (GG magazine covers) and his own brand of humor (The loft?! The Brooklyn poverty loft?!!) makes me come back to his videos over and over again. The replayability is insane. It's not just watching a random youtube vid; it's an entire (Mike'sMic) experience.
As a 30+ year old man who never watched any of these shows when I was younger, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Top-tier entertainment. Keep on doing what you're doing. We live for these. You're very underrated (less than 1M subs?? How?).
Side-note: I know the girlies will go absolutely feral if Mic made a patreon and post behind the scenes and early access vids there.

Never watched the show so maybe I don’t have all the context, but the idea that Blaire got expelled for exposing a possible student-teacher relationship is so ridiculous to me.
It was because at the time of the expulsion it was a straight up lie, so she was expelled for a false accusation. The incriminating hair tuck photo came after the tip to GG, so when she was expelled there was no crime AND no evidence.

Ironically though, the teacher ended up actually sleeping with Dan after the accusations and I think she left but by then it was too late cos Blair’s chances to get into Yale was put on pretty thin ice

Non of us would've been surprised but with then albeit, I suspected it, I realised after rewatching Dan was the best choice. He was always 2 faced, manipulative, calculative and GG barley wrote about him. Writing wise it could've been better from the start to the end but character wise a good reveal.
@@HorrorDiva01 Funnily enough in the reboot Jonathan even joked how Dan outed Eric then became his brother in law. It wouldn't have made sense for them to purposely put Eric at risk.
No joke I just love how much love and effort Mike puts into these series. Like it validates me that I shouldn't feel bad about liking or watching "dumb or silly" tv series or movies like that. Like things that bring you joy or laughter aren't dumb and it just helps my anxiety listening to him explain and recap these series in the best and funniest ways!

(Looking back now I find them toxic and wouldn't want Blair with any of the guys from the show, but this quote somehow still gets to me haha)
@@carlableiker3752 They had many iconic scenes with the most fitting songs it's hard to pick: the limo, prom, paris, confession scene. Yeah non of them were good ppl, all relationships were toxic but years later, I found Chuck and Blair matched the best. Given their status Blair wouldn't have married someone below. They really carried the show and made it the it drama it was. Wouldn't have continued watching without them. Their growth together was good and he never tried changing her unlike the other guys she was with. I don't think a tv couple needs to be healthy but that's just my opinion. I didn't tune in for good ppl or healthy relationships but for the entertainment and drama, betrayal, hurt, passion, chemistry which is why shows these days ain't doing it for me.

I forgot just how wild the relationship roulette was in this show. Can't wait for the rest cuz I stopped watching after S2 when I too went off to college. I remember learning about the final reveal of GG, and thinking, "That makes no sense."

I know you probably feel like you’re running out of steam but be gentle with yourself and keep going, exams aren’t forever. You just have to knuckle down for a little longer.
