Since I started watching this type video, I find myself being a lot more alert on the road both of someone else and for my own driving. And I never realize how easy it is to roll a car over.
Yea these videos really do teach you something. People think it’s weird I watch these but they actually help me watch for signs. !
As long as you don’t have a huge SUV or live in a hillside mansion then cars should really roll over there

Yes. It’s because the center of gravity is very high on an suv and not down to the road keeping the vehicle planted. It’s interesting because one would assume that the vehicles weight would prevent rollover but it actually does the opposite. That’s why I like to drive wagons because the rollover risk is reduced dramatically

@@bendoverson2397 Other cars didn’t have the green if the light was still yellow😂 In fact there’s a second or two gap between one set of lights turning red and the opposite turning green. Do you even drive at all? I also said nothing about speeding up lmfao I said the car turning is at fault which is true. They’re supposed to yield to oncoming traffic and since the light was still yellow, it’s the person turnings fault.
It’s really eye-opening to see just how many of these racks are caused by just fucking idiots, and are completely avoidable. It’s scary. It could happen to any of us at any time.
New drivers should be made to watch some of these types of videos. Telling someone doesn't always work but showing them would hopefully have more of an effect.

It almost looks like they went off before the car was hit. I know that’s not the case but that’s what it looked like.
In 0.25x speed, the airbags deployed the moment the two cars touched. Kinda cool to think about how fast they deploy

When my light turns green I always hesitate for a moment just in case of a red light runner. I don't get honked at so it's only for a split second.....

I look at every car coming toward the intersection and the driver to see where his attention is at. If anybody looks inattentive I wait, and sound off my horn.

Also I should add, I do watch for red light runners cause I don't want to be hit and have had to stop when cars did run the light. I also watch the cross traffic vehicles even after I'm in the intersection incase they take off again for some reason. I guess by watching them, I don't have to delay at all in case there might be a red light runner cause I already know if there is or isn't one and feel confident entering the intersection immediately. Also time between the cross traffic light turning red and mine turning green could be longer for my area compared to others. That might also explain why I've been honked at cause the honker is from somewhere where the light turns faster after cross traffic has stopped. Guess I should look into that before I start flipping people off, lol.
These dash cam videos psychologically mess me up. Now when I drive I feel like an accident will happen at any time.
I used to drive up to 15 mph over the speed limit until I started watching these type of videos. Terrified straight keep me driving safe. I change lanes to get away from people when I see someone texting and driving.

I've been watching these videos with my teenage boys and quizzing them on what the driver error was. Seems like the vast majority are: failure to yield on a left hand turn, red light running, rear end collision.

No. She has her phone connected to her car. The call was going from the phone, to the car, then to the recipient. Once that call was either canceled or un-answered, the car went back to running it’s previous function, which was playing music. So she was already listening to music, the car just paused it during the call.

Staying parked in that middle turn lane doesn't make any sense but making a left turn and then stopping after the accident makes sense so I'm assuming he did stop to help. There's a lot of traffic going on here and it's dark I would not risk getting run over while running across a busy intersection
One thing these videos have taught me is to always watch the green lights. Even if I get a green I always look both ways now. Even if I get honked at. It saved me from getting hit once when I was driving with my then 3 month old.

If you can pull onto a parking space and help that's fine. But parking in the road to help could actually cause more road blockage which can lead to another accident. People actually get killed trying to help accident victims becaues their car blocks the view of the road and lessens the amount of available lanes for traffic to go around. Even cops and tow truck drivers get killed doing the same thing and their vehicles are lit up like a christmas tree.

14:10 Number 35 on the list... the cammer is just as much at fault as the other guy. The cammer car made no attempt what so ever to avoid the other car even though he could clearly see he wasn't stopping and was going in his lane, the cammer did not slam on his brakes nor swerve out of the way or even pay attention to the other car and what the other car was doing.. could have been totally avoided if the cammer car was paying attention to the road also. The other car was clearly at fault, but the cammer car could have avoided the accident too.
Its hard to tell but I think the cammer actually had a Left Turn Yield on Green sign at his light, and the other car had a green light, so the cammer was just fully at fault.
I think it was a left turn yield (you can see a sign next to the light, so im assuming thats what it is) and the car going straight had a green, so the guy with the dash cam is at fault here i believe.

Question for people with dash cams, when you capture an accident like these people did do you stick around the scene to see if anyone will need it? Even if your car wasn’t involved?
I got T boned by some one making an unprotected left and I hold my breath every time I see someone think about going left when I’m coming. Videos like these help me feel less sensitive to what happened and more aware of the giveaways of a dangerous driver so hopefully it never happens to me again.

0:38 I live near this area. It’s in Minneapolis. Funny thing is one time someone honked out me furiously because the light was green to turn. A big light was flashing though that the train was coming and the train was getting very close. If I would’ve turned, same thing would’ve probably happened to me as that car.

It's dark and the driver made the left turn and parked on the right hand side. They cut that out. I don't think I'd run across a dark busy intersection in the middle of the night either. I would park in a safe spot

They’re not obligated to stop. It’s better if it’s a minor accident to keep flowing with traffic, because you dumbass humans will stop in the middle of the road causing more pile ups. Then again NO ONE is obligated nor forced to stop to help you.
How do you know they didn't stop? They cut that part out. I would not stop in the middle of a busy road or risk my own life, I would find a safe place to park and then walk back. Imagine how long these videos would be if they included all the parking and walking back?
