- A motorist somehow walked away with just a few scratches after being struck head-on by a driver being pursued by police on the 405 Freeway in Los Angeles Friday.

The money we are spending for weapon systems in Ukraine is going into American workers' pockets and aiding the nation's economy. We are defending Ukraine NOW, so we won't have to be fighting all across Europe TOMORROW. If we had stopped Hitler when we COULD have done so, many millions of innocent people - including Americans - would not have suffered and died.

It's a miracle that the victim is ok but now this man has no car and insurance will probably give him pennies on the dollar for a replacement. I doubt any compensation will come from the suspect or city of LA in regards to this incident.
The car is a late-90s Saturn Ion sedan, worth less than $5000 in the current market. California law states that the victim in this case should receive full market value for their loss from their insurance. You cannot register a vehicle without carrying insurance coverage.
Whether this particular driver will be compensated is unknown at this point, but he _probably_ will be made whole by his insurer. He is not entitled to any payment from the city.
This is a result of allowing politicians to run a state based on emotions rather than proven tactics. Politicians and "human rights advocates" have pretty much handicapped law enforcement by not allowing them to perform pit maneuvers or using lethal force when necessary.

Wrong. This is the result of a crazy, delusional woman driving her van stupidly around the west side. This has literally nothing to do with politicians. Law enforcement was not "handicapped" in this situation, and in fact did everything they could to prevent injury to the public. They utilized the "pit maneuver" several times during the chase. There was never at any point any need to apply "lethal force".
You seem to have been watching some other event, and not what actually occurred.

This offers more proof, if it was needed, that the Saturn was a very safe car. I miss my 2007 Ion - it was actually a fine daily driver. Never gave me any real problems - really great on tight cornering. Had early-adoption features like a disc player that could handle MP3 files. Nice car.

This lady was in a neighborhood for several days yelling in the middle if the street in the middle of the night and police were called several times but they didn't treat this as someone who was a danger to herself or others. Someone had her on video and it was very sad to see her having mental breakdown.

The police in pursuit putting the public at risk. Two officers injured. Suspects on the freeway driving recklessly, the going to wrong way. When slowed to almost a stop a failure by police to stop the vehicle after she was going the wrong direction.
If the driver had been a man, especially a black man, they would have mag dumped to prevent injury to the public.
Police stop traffic on the freeway, leaving everyone sitting ducks. The police car that stopped traffic accelerated out of the way to safety leaving all lane of traffic jammed up to be hit.
Was the CA Highway Patrol, LASO, and or LAPD, or Uvalde Police Department? Just leave citizens in harms way.
There were high speed chases involving Black suspects, and the cops let the chase drag on. There are CZcams videos on this. It has nothing to do with race, but everything to do with why cops aren't executing the PIT Maneuver early.
