Beautiful indeed an wonderful free flow sounding Busso!!! I owned my first GTV6 at age 19 and I am now 52. I have owned 5, 1984, 1985, 1983, 1984 (3.0 conversion) and now 1984 Maratona project.
I`ve just subscribed. Great to get an American perspective. The GTV6 is probably my favourite car that I have owned and i currently still own seven Alfas, a 101 Spider, an assortment of 105`s and two 156`s but i still regret selling my GTV6. I am a fan of that 116 model anyway having owned a few 2 litre versions (in Euro form like ours still a great drive) but it is the balance, and that Busso noise that gets you with the GTV6 In a very balanced chassis with no vices and as quick as a 3 litre 911 they offer in real road conditions more rear end traction and grip than a 105. You mention the sunroof , another favourite feature but didn`t mention that the aerodynamics are so good over the top of the car that it is usable at well over 160km/100mph without buffeting or wind noise, as is the driver`s window which can be down at speed - all the better to hear that engine, A great underrated Alfa, not only by Alfisti but the classic car group in general.
I'm hooked on Alfa's. I have an 86 spider Veloce that is amazing, for 7yrs now. My small window to buy a GTV6 has come and gone, I fear- they have gone up in price so much now. Yours is exactly like the first GTV6 I saw in the late '80's. I never got over it; they guy that owned it told me that I would never be able to afford one LOL. Great first person account of the car, keep it up. Love that Busso sound, but I swear that it's so similar to the 4cyl of the day. Maybe I'll make a video too :)

Nice car in very original condition (except exhaust). I owned an '82 that I bought brand new. I had an electric sunroof in my '76 Alfetta sedan that I bought in '78. I think that sunroof might have been dealer installed.
Great video and review of one of my favorite cars of all time. I inherited my 85 GTV6 from my dad who bought it new in Miami. I have owned many sports cars but "Luigi" is the most fun to drive! Look forward to more vids. Thank you
You explain the joy of this car very well. People often focus too much criticism on the 1980s interior. It is easy to overlook the simplicity of things in these critiques. The simple vent flappers work so well, and that knob to move rear windows up and down, Glad you mention the sunroof handle. At first it feels cheap and underbuilt. After using it for a few months you understand it is precisely what is needed and no more. I gasped when I saw your odometer. This car needs another 100k on it. Get drivin'!

Wow ,she is a beauty ,and that busso sound 🍀 The only thing i would change is i would buy the original steering wheel . My dream is to buy a 2.5 GTV and a spider veloce , hopefully I can afford tham one day ,they are incredible . GTV has such a strange beauty to it.

Beautiful car. Actually it's my favorite Alfa? What year is it? I see it has the Recaro seats. My father had an '83 gtv6, it had the original 15 Campagnolo wheels front and rear. My father's only critic about the car was the crunchy 2nd gear, besides that, he says it was the best car he ever had. Cheers from El Salvador!

@@alfaromeo-thepeople4938 - What is sad to me is how so many people knock the GTV6 while forgiving the sins of its competitors. There isn’t a Ferrari or Porsche that doesn’t possess all the same so-called “flaws” of the GTV6 yet they are given a pass. Ridiculously unfair judgement in my view.

Your father was right for sure, this one is 1984 and made for the North American market but to Canada 🇨🇦
