Good video sir ... straight to the point and no bullshit ...
The backwards oil filter 💀😂 Nice rebuild!
You do great work! Awesome build
Thank you sir!
this is a great video keep up with the “dirt scooters”
That was good. Lots of good info 👍
Thanks for watching!
Was that a brand new oem crank or a ebay special? Doing a crank on a 19 kx450 right now.
This was an OEM crank but I've used lots of eBay specials throughout the years (Hotrods) and have never had a premature failure. Just stay away from Wiseco cranks. Thanks for watching!
really liked the video, building a bike with one hand is not easy... we need to get you a tripod!! but awesome job
Thanks for watching! And yes It was all just filmed with my cellphone. 😂
Awesome job man.. I have the same bike and I’m getting an occasional bog / hesitation at full throttle , what do you think it could be? Normally I’d try cleaning carb but it’s fuel inject
The Injector can get clogged just as easily as a pilot jet in a carb if you're running pump gas with ethanol. Pull your Injector from your throttle body and clean it. Look up the procedure for cleaning it. You'll need a 9v battery, a way to connect it to the injector, and some carb cleaner. Beyond that you may have a dirty fuel pump filter.
@@MotoBuilds ok thanks man! Keep up the good work 👍
I have a problem with my crf250r, the oil drain bolt fell out when riding and I went for 3 hours before jt locked on me. I put a new bolt and oil back in and it started right up. But it burning the oil and smoking a lot. Any clue on what to do? I’m not very good with motors. Thanks
I'm honestly surprised it started back up at all..if it didn't kill your crank you likely smoked your rings. Need to pull the head and cylinder and see how your cylinder looks.
I need help with a fuel leak on my 14 kx250f its around the boot from the airbox i replaced the rear injector and oring thinking that was my issue by it hanging shooting too much fuel, but it done the same thing with the new one!!! I seen you mention you’ve built plenty of these bikes any idea or suggestions would help alot!!!
If it's isolated to that one spot you likely just have a bad o ring where the injector mates to the fuel line.
The black plastic fitting??? The actually oring in the fuel line maybe.. is this what you’re speaking of??
@@justincase5400 there should be an o ring on the injector sealing off where it fits into the plastic fitting for the fuel line. It may be bad or the plastic has a hairline crack..I'd pull it and inspect it closely
Yeah because i just bought a new injector, insulator, and oring still same issue!!! I did notice i have a tear/crack in the airboot lip small but would it maybe cause the issue
And thank so much for replying to me as well its very helpful
Damn, what a steal
The dopamine rush is real when you see a deal like that pop up. Haha
@@MotoBuilds so jealous. I recently rebuilt my old KX60 and now have been looking for a 4-stroke to rebuild to learn more about them.
@@MrJeffharper47 browse FB marketplace like it's your religion like I do and it's bound to pop up. 😂😂
I thought you weren’t aloud to hone plated cylinders
If the cylinder is at all glazed and has minimal crosshatch you're going to have poor lubrication and blowby. Regardless if sleeved or plated it needs to have a good crosshatch. I have built many hundreds of engines and if it needs it, I hone it. Never had an issue. Now if youre already at a size D cylinder and the nikasil is getting thin, it's better to replace or replate because the hone can flake the plating...but A-C cylinder bore. Send it. Just don't over-do it.
Where u base @? I wonder if you can buy and rebuild KX450 X 2021, then il purchase it from you if the price is right
East Texas
Inspection is due on truck.
Haha good eye. I always go over..sometimes I skip a year. However it's now up to date..as well as all the lights on the dash. Ol Tacoma needed a fuel pump at 350k miles.
How does one gain this much knowledge on dirt bikes, serious question. I need to know
I've been building them for 12 years
@@MotoBuilds how old are you?

@@MotoBuilds 👍
2010 is the first year for fuel injected, not 2009
Sorry, but this is incorrect. 2010 is the first year of fuel injection for the kx250f, 2009 is the first year of EFI for the kx450f. I have built several dozens of each over the years.
I have a 2009 kx450f fuel injected. This was the 1st year.
That bike will have many problems to many aftermarket parts
Its mostly stock, All OEM engine components aside from the Rekluse Clutch (which are great) New owner has been ripping it hard for months now. I don't let them leave my shop with problems, if they have an issue they can come back and I will take care of them for free of charge!
@@MotoBuilds I appreciate response. I have a kx450 300 hours all stock everything still running perfect. I do a lot of preventative maintenance though. Take it to shop for visual inspections
@@ItsCheechFool 300 hours is impressive! What year do you have
@@MotoBuilds 2013
@@ItsCheechFoolI got 200 hours on my kx450 it’s a 2016 and still got brand new compression
