Awesome to watch you learning to make things for yourself Taylah. Just a quick idea, it might help, but I like to pre-wash and iron all of my fabrics as well, even my fat quarters for quilting. I wash in laundry bags for the smaller stuff. Then I tumble dry everything and iron. I made an ironing station for myself by covering a piece of ply wood with old towels and then made like a giant pillow case to go over it, so that it can be pulled off to be washed. I now use that on my cutting table for ironing pieces of fabric, best thing ever because I can iron heaps of fabric in one go 😉

that dress looks beautiful! I love the way you've pieced the colours together, they're bright but it doesn't clash at all because there's themes going down 🥰

Looks great. Just a bit of advice, when you sew over the shoulder straps go back & forth over them at least 2-3 times as it will reinforce the straps & make that point stronger.

Both dresses are beautiful but you sparkle in the last one!

When sewing the bodice front to the bodice back, try opening up the pieces that you sewed together so that right sides are touching and then sew the front to the back. This will incase your seams inside of the layers.
It is not easy to describe in writing what exactly I mean.
Otherwise, I love the dresses. The more ruffles the better, I think. 😁

Try a command hook on the side of your machine and you can hang a small pair of scissors there for cutting threads that doesn't get lost

Looks great just an idea you could run a little elastic right under your arm might keep it from puckering. Very impressive

    Beautiful Dresses well done x
When I wash fabric I put it in a net zip bag . It stops the material freying. And you can gather your fabric on your overlocker, just change the foot and dial . And to alter it under the arms ,you could put dress on inside out and pin . Then you will have exact size you want ❤ xx

Dress looks great. If you wanted to fix the gapping around the underarm, you could run a piece of elastic across the back.

The patchwork is definitely the better of the 2 though both are beautiful the 2nd just has more shape with the bigger gathers

If you had bust darts it may sit better. Colours are good.

You need a proper ironing board. Makes the job much easier and enjoyable.

I will say that this particular overlocker is notorious for coming off the looper. I have the same model and you get so far and you need to re thread the upper looper. It's so annoying.

I'd also add breasts darts on the sides, it will fit much better.
