    The first campground looked like it had a nice feel to it. Lot a trees good shade noticed nice harmony with the birds being very vocal allway's natures music!
    Lake side sights looked really nice any western exposure for evening sunsets? That would round out your day real nice with your favorite beverage of choice!
    Thanks for the outing as allway's glad to see your out again enjoy the time well spent with your son.

    Hi, Rick ... thanks for the tour! Looks like a beautiful area with lots of camp sites. I can imagine how crowded it gets as peak season nears with all that wonderful lake shore. Hugs

    Appears to be a good spot. At least there is electric and water at the sites. Plenty of trails for walking. Thanks for sharing. Take care.

      Thanks ! I was a hard edit due to too many cameras and too much footage of campsites.. I finally decided they were all pretty good and I didn't need to do them all !! LOL Thanks for the comment !

      Almost didn't have space to add it to the video. I had to slice out 4 minutes of campground tour. But it was probably a good thing, it was getting a bit repetitive. Thanks for the comment !

    Hey Rick. Sorry about that non level thing, Tennessee really is nothing but hills and valleys. It's a truly beautiful state. I'm a Nashville native and I have camped lakeside at Pooles Knob (we put the s on it) many many times from a kid all the way into my early 20s. If someone says 'the lake' you automatically know its Percy Priest. (I'm 59 now if that gives you a history timeline) No, there isn't a designated kids area, but we never needed it back then. The lake was a pretty convenient place to go boating, fish for the day, or just hang out and swim. (A time or two at 16 my sister and I would tell my granddad we were picking up guy friends on the way to drive the car pulling his boat, but that wasn't exactly true. I drove and backed the boat in and we had a blast. Although, we did confess when we got older :))
    In case you didn't hear about them on your visit, I'll throw a little trivia out there. The lake has what we always called rock bass that can grow to the size of a small child. If you take a boat over to the dam you can sometimes see them swimming around which is pretty cool. Outside of the bass there are also crappie that get that big. Then there are 'the cliffs' that people use to jump into the water. That's pretty crazy to watch. Thank you for covering some of its beauty in your video. I'll have to check out your Nashville videos.

      Well Gosh !! Thanks for stopping by and giving me all that info.I used to work for the Bureau of fisheries in NY. 5 years straight as a seasonal (?). Got sick of never having any permanency rights. But yes, I have seen some BIG fish. And I'm aware there are BIGGER ones down here. All these lakes/reservoirs stay nice a warm in the winter and the fish have much more "grow time". The neatest thing about the lakes are that they have SO much shoreline. Not that deep like some of ours up north, but you don;'t need mush depth to motor or paddle around and have fun ! Thanks again and feel free to stop by anytime. I'll see you get the friends and family discount !

    nice to see greenery - I'm currently in eastern New Mexico where things are dry, brown, windy ----headed to Roswell and White Sands in my travel trailer - then Colorado, Wyoming, Utah before heading back to FL Any tips for handling severe weather? I had some 50-60 mph gusts, thunder, lightning come through about midnight last night and headed for the permanent structures - had a weather radio going - no tornadoes, but felt like the kind of weather where you'd see one. Ever deal with severe weather while camping? Always got to be prepared - especially in tornado country like where I'm at.....

      I have never had any issues with weather, but I have been part of rescues where in 1995 the Adirondacks had a 70mph wind just travel 60 miles through the virgin timber areas and stranded 35 backpackers. They had to be airlifted out of the woods, I think 2 people were Killed when I tree fell on their tent in a state campsite. And the same thing happened in 1997 in Syracuse where a "Derecho" - a straight line wind of >50mph lied out near every tree for 60 miles about 300 ft wide. I measured the wind at my house at 70mph. We lost just 10 shingles off my house. Mother Nature can be Nasty or Nice !!

    Looks like a pretty nice campground. But I noticed the showers did not seem to have any wheelchair access. Could you tell? They look like fairly new buildings. Glad to see you out there again.

      There was one "Shower House" That had a concrete approach fairly level. And the "Handicap" Toilet and Shower were extra long and roomy. But they didn't have any special bars, or seats, or hand showers and I Really doubt they were wide enough for a wheel chair. I think the intention of the this entire campground was for people in self contained RV's

    Did you get a chance to explore the abandoned side of the campground? I'm not sure if it was abandoned during construction or if it was closed off after many years of use. If you're interested, you can find it pretty easily. If you are driving the main loop you can see the abandoned road once you pass site 64 on the right.

      No I didn't. I was really camping here to visit with my son who was in Nashville for business for a week, and to Look for a puppy. I'm a terrible multi-tasker!! lol

    Hi! I know this was made two years ago but just recently (on the 23 of June 2020) I was camping here at Poole Knobs campsite. Me and my boyfriend were fishing at the little open area at the time 18:56 it was around 11:30 at night and we heard screaming across the lake. It sounded like a man being murdered alive and honestly I thought it was someone in the other side of the lake unable to reach the shore. For a short while it was just one scream, but then it became 3 screams at one time. I have been looking around for videos, animal sounds, and many more to uncover what it may have been but have found nothing. If you experienced something like this at all while you were here please let me know.

    • @GoingNoWhereFast
      @GoingNoWhereFast  Před 4 lety +1

      Bobcats (which would be in that area) make a noise that sounds just like someone being murdered, especially when they are fighting (or having Sex). It could be !?! :-)... Nothing when I was there!
