You nailed the intro! The fact that the first race was on Father Boo's Swamp made it even better! Got 4th and I'm satisfied. Jeff may have won this tournament, but I know you can make an amazing comeback!

@@justinnewman4207 Yeah and you know what stupid I was actually going to join but lately I’ve been dealing with my personal life also trying not to go insane with Mario Kart that’s why I didn’t end up entering this tournament even though it was the perfect one for me

Quick has to 1v1 you at some point if he roasted you on a few races (such as that Mute City one).
I enjoyed my appearances on this video. Also shoutout to the guy that horned blue on Koopa Cape

    • @justinnewman4207
      @justinnewman4207  Před 9 měsíci +2

I got some serious hate vibes from Quick for real in this one. He may as well be my nemesis at this point.
As for the horn on Koopa Cape... Definitely retaliation after catching what I think was a stray green... And that lack of awareness was a huge benefit to you 😆

You, Alex, and I had an absolutely TRASH tourney. I'm gonna call that some dirty shenanigans were happening, or maybe the game just hated us tonight. Either way, this was detrimental to both of our chances of making it to the December tourney. Ggs tonight, and hopefully we can do better next week!

Item pulls were my main problem. And I also got shocked when I could've dodged a couple of times. I want that plant removed from this game as well as it screwed me over as well.
Jeff winning pretty much ruined the chances for a lot of people, myself included. May as well just be playing for pride at this point. Ggs

Jacob, Justin, I have news that should please both of you.
In light of Alex banning Miis from racing, and thus preventing me from participating in a Wave 5 tournament (and as such, was unable to bring Oddball to the tournament tonight), I revisited an idea I discussed with Stickman on his Petey time trial at Electrodrome. That idea has now been completed and is successful.
It was surprisingly easy to complete, since I was less than 2 seconds behind Alex's time with an outdated version of Huge Island (so outdated, in fact, that the time trial was completed before I even found the GwA community) and swapping out Koopa Troopa (a.k.a. Koopa the Quick when I'm the one controlling the Huge Island combo) for Father Boo was more than enough to get the necessary Speed to beat Alex's time.
If you're interested in the full combo I used, it's Father Boo in the Cat Cruiser with Sponge tires and the Plane Glider. I call it "From Indonesia with Love" because I first saw the combo used by Kureiji Ollie (a VTuber from the Indonesia branch of Hololive). So now Alex now has to live with Father Boo beating his time on his favorite course in the game. 👻😆👑
The moral of this story? Do not mess with Oddball. 😈

No need for a quick scan, as I have once again been assured that there's "no Dumpster Laps". Time to dive into the commentary for tonight's video. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to get to it, but I completed my side project fairly quickly. Details are in a reply to Jacob's comment.
No timestamp needed for the start of the commentary. It is indeed spooky season. 👻😆👑
    0:14
Alex kinda had all the Father Boos coming, considering Father Boo is the closest of the "legal" drivers to "meta"... *and* Alex also banned Miis from tonight's tournament, which I believe led to a lot of negative karma headed his way. That negative karma may or may not include my side project. 👀
    1:15
Now that was just rude. Lexus doesn't play in these very often, and you treat him like I treated Satori at Wind Woods back in early August. 😆
I'd call you what Satori called me, but CZcams won't like if I put one specific word beginning with the letter T in text form. 🤣
    1:44
Eyes on the track, Father Boo, lest you drive into a stray 🍌. And if you were talking about who dropped it, no that wasn't a bot (or COM, as I like using the official term). The 🍌 was dropped by SuperMirez (if memory serves, that's the name Daniel uses).
Could be worse, though. Could have been the start of Alex's race at Big Blue.
    2:07
Welcome back to the course on which you still need to race against Kefka Palazzo. Bowser's Castle was fun with Bakura, and there's no statistical difference on my end by switching between Bakura and Kefka (as both are Medium Miis), but Kefka is the one who was denied in what I think was the last Alex tournament I was able to actually play.
    2:49
That's the best place to grab numbers. **nods in a sage-like manner** -The "sage" may or may not have been George.-
    3:01
F in advance for what's to come.
    3:10
Lexus gets a little payback for the ⭐ incident at Father Boo Lake.
    3:24
    Full of grace.
    3:33
I would ask "phrasing?", but we both know that was 100% intentional. ✊
    4:54
I hope I don't have to once again quote Eric July, but we'll see how Jerry Land goes.
    6:28
Here's one for the fail reel. I would have skipped this timestamp entirely if not for the "blue stuff".
    7:10
    Wind Woods!
    9:18
Great use of horn. Some might call it "dirty", though I see it as a play similar to the Bob-Omb from Lexus at Bowser's Castle, and as such, I don't think of either incident as being dirty.
    9:37
Ah, Big Blue. The race that turned out to be the bane of Alex's tournament (and a gold mine for my timestamps on his livestream -yeah, I can be petty when something I was looking forward to, which in this case was having Oddball in a Halloween tournament, gets taken away at the last minute- ).
    9:54
Still better than how Alex took that turn. 😆
    10:18
Sometimes it's easy to accidentally back a red when backing greens. Especially when rushing to get rid of items.
    10:57
(in Charles Barkley voice) That Blue Shell's *COMIN'!*
Like I said during one of your recent livestreams, this is the gift that keeps on giving.
    11:01
The Spiny Shell never hits me there because I'm always on the other recharge strip (F-Zero terminology). I think it takes the sharp turn every time, but I have no explanation for why it does.
    11:26
I never saw a 🍌, not even at the moment you got hit. If I had to guess, I'd say somebody (probably jeffmkking) sniped you with it. That could be totally wrong, but it's the only explanation that matches what my eyes saw.
    11:39
    Goriya's favorite course.
    GRUMBLE, GRUMBLE... 🍖
    12:02
Still pulling numbers off the top of your head? Or were these pulled from a different part of your anatomy? 😆
    12:37
When a sharp turn backfires. Oof...
    13:58
Probably would have been better to forego the mega cut this time, but hindsight's 20/20.
    14:20
    Have I gone deaf?
Disclaimer for future viewers. This is only a joke about how the upcoming race is at *Mute* City.
    15:37
I get that the Teddy Buggy is heavier than the Biddybuggy (what vehicle bodies *aren't* , aside from Mr. Scooty, Blue Falcon, and Splat Buggy?), but I thought the weight difference between Dry Bones and Dry Bowser was supposed to be enough for Dry Bowser to keep his line. Make Weight Matter Again! #MWMA (Fun fact. Weight was incredibly vital in Double Dash, almost too much so. The "perfect" Mario Kart game will have Weight matter less than it did then but more than it does in 8 Deluxe.)
    16:19
Justin Solo? Han Newman? Which nickname do you like better for what we're about to see here?
    16:40
This might be #2 on the most ludicrously giddy moments I have heard from you. The only one that surpasses it, at least among the moments I remember, is "Go Link!".
    16:58
Shigeru saw how you won that last race and said "playtime is over". 😕
    19:45
Those "Leaf Cup" signs (for lack of better term, at least among those that are coming to mind as I leave this comment) made me think of how Stickman's Petey Time Trials series recently completed the Leaf Cup, and I left a total of 6 fun facts on those 4 videos (one on each video, and an additional 2 on his Yoshi Valley video).
To answer the question "why are we here" asked several seconds later, the answer is "because the Leaf Cup is great, but Nintendo's online servers don't realize that Sherbet Land, Melody Motorway, and Yoshi Valley are all much better options".
    21:38
    Lexus wins. Squishality.
    21:45
Lexus took the doubles, NEON took the single next to the doubles, and you followed too close to NEON for the single to regenerate and weren't in line for the doubles.
    22:23
(in Jaleel White's nasally voice, which also fits nicely with one of my Miis that you've already seen) Got any 🧀?
    23:27
It was the Father Boo in the back, as Father Boo had no invincibility item at play and did not spin out when everyone on the minimap did. Thus, the suspects are rocky, Lexus, and Quick. While it's an uncharacteristically bad shock from any of them, it's not completely unheard of for Lexus (rarely playing in these tournaments) or Quick (a good player, but not on the same level as Lexus or rocky when they're at the top of their respective games). I would only truly be shocked (pun unintentional, but I do recognize that it exists) if we find out that rocky is the one who used it.
    25:00
Ah, Koopa Cape. The best course in the Cherry Cup. -Which is akin to being the tallest pygmy, but that's neither here nor there... and is also being a little unfair to Vancouver Velocity, which is itself a decent course.-
    25:51
When halfpipes fail in a hilarious manner. 😆
    27:38
That race was yours if only the Lightning had been 18 seconds ago instead of 19 seconds ago. It would have been close, but your ⭐ and being normal-sized would have caught up to rocky being small and itemless.
    27:51
The last time I saw a race at Sydney, Ren's Yoshi got Mario Karted in a CZcams Short.
    29:51
    SuperMirez wins. Squishality.
    30:19
Apologies in advance for this timestamp, but I gotta ask. What the *BEEP* happened here? This was potentially worse than what I referenced in the Short 2 timestamps ago, depending on whether or not Ren was able to make a Final Lap comeback. If this trend continues, I may need to put Sydney Sprint on my "watch at your own risk" list, but since it's not Los Angeles 🗑, I'll definitely be watching future Sydney videos. I just need to be aware of how ugly things could get.
Thus, my commentary comes to a conclusion. Hope you enjoy 😄

People keep saying I nailed the intro. I guess I would make a fine villain if I was a VA. lol
0:14 I think Alex threw up a little when he saw all the Father Boos lol
1:15 But Lexus was just there and in my way. lol
1:44 Whoever dropped it, that's my fault for not paying attention. It probably would've been a respectable race if I saw the banana in time.
2:07 Kefka needs to see me on Bowser's Castle soon! I remember that he DC'd there last time.
2:49 Probably something Miitopia's Great Sage George would say indeed lol
3:01 & 3:10 Such a good bomb spot and unfortunately I was the one who felt it!
3:24 I think I hit someone with it too. Otherwise, why was Father Boo celebrating?
3:33 I'm gonna blame you for that one. You brought up "Fisting" in a prior video when Jacob straight up disappeared after Bowser apparently nailed him. lol
      4:54 JERRY WORLD
6:28 I found the Blue Stuff. And a severe case of hypothermia... If Dry Bowser wasn't just a pile of bones, that is.
7:10 We journey to Wind Woods for a hopefully epic race.
9:18 This is not a dirty play, its smart. The cut is super predictable and with the right timing you'll smack someone who would've otherwise overtaken you with the cut. I had a feeling I would hit someone with this stunt, and I did.
9:37 Not my best race either... lol
9:54 Oh come on, Alex! Taking that turn on Big Blue is like the basic of basics! Don't fall off like that!
10:18 Pretty frustrating that I did that. Easy mistake to make, too. I've gotten trigger happy with my items more times than I care to remember.
10:57 Blue Shell is coming and 11:01 flat out runs me over. Why go wide unless 1st also went wide!?
11:26 It is very difficult to see in the video but yes, it was a stray banana someone put down. I saw it clearly while playing the race and of course I run straight into it.
11:39 The rare Grumble Volcano race...
12:02 I only recall seeing Grumble Volcano in these videos once prior to this one. But that's still off the top of my head. lol
12:37 If I had hopped there, I would've made it across. I thought I had enough speed but apparently not.
13:58 That trailed Green caused me to burn that mushroom earlier than I wanted to, and my positioning was also off. I almost made it though, and would have if I used that mushroom just a tad bit later.
14:20 "Have I gone Deaf?" What? "Or was I MUTE?" What? "SERIOUSLY I CAN'T HEAR ANYTHING!!" What? LOL
15:37 I'm still a TANK compared to Dry Bones Teddy Buggy. Stuff like this just shouldn't happen.
16:19 Neither really sound good... It really is hard to make a nickname out of my name.
16:40 How could I not? I just won that race in spectacular fashion. I don't think I'll become as unhinged as I did when I won with Link though. lol
16:58 Shigeru just wants me to lose. Why else have I had such a miserable run in some of these tournaments? lol
19:45 MELODY MOTORWAY WAS ON THE BOARD AND WAS MY CHOICE FOR THIS RACE.
21:38 Ah, Lexus. We always get in each other's way. One thing to note when he and I are involved in races - they're never boring. lol
21:45 Rotten timing, as per usual.
      22:23 CHEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSE
23:27 You can't hold a shock forever. That's probably what the case was.
25:00 Wasn't feeling too bad about this one actually.
      25:51 TOO FAST! TOO FAST!
27:38 Maybe. But that was the second, VERY conveniently timed shock. I should've went against my better judgement and used the Star and was about to, BUT...
      27:51 Predicting the future, perhaps?
29:51 What, do I need a "Squishality counter" now? LOL
30:19 Mario Karted. Period. End of Story. Race at Sydney at your own risk.
Entertaining commentary as usual. These are always good for a laugh.

      VA career beginning when? 🤔
      0:14
He brought it on himself. Most players would have used the Medium Mii for the stats closer to meta if they were allowed, and wind and I would have used them because he loves his Miis and I was looking forward to Oddball playing last night.
Hopefully the GwA community taught him a lesson without traumatizing him *too* greatly. 😈
      1:15
Maybe your ⭐ on Lexus was a little less avoidable than mine on Satori was, since I was in the middle of the path before swerving to the inside lane. 😆
But at least neither of us swerved to the outside like somebody did to me and Alex at SNES Rainbow Road during one of my earliest tournaments in this community. Whoever did that was definitely guilty of dirty play, and I have long since forgotten who the guilty party was.
      2:07
We'll get Kefka back in there. Hopefully as early as Alex's next tournament, since tournaments are Thursdays and Halloween is Tuesday, which means Bakura and Oddball won't get in Kefka's way after Tuesday ends.
      2:49
Great Sage George is filled with wisdom that only makes sense with a certain mindset. 😆
      3:01 and 3:10
Both were great bomb spots. The first timestamp was only talking about the Bob-Omb from a second or two later, as when I provided that commentary, I had no idea Lexus was going to drop a Bob-Omb less than 10 seconds later.
      3:24
Awww... You broke the chain. 😆
It's probably just as well, though. If you didn't break the chain here, I would have been forced to with this response, as the rest of the chain doesn't make sense without a woman present. 🤣
As for the 🍌 toss itself, I hope you hit somebody, but the "celebration" could have just been from the trick jump.
      3:33
Then I shall blame Terroriser, as I always remember him saying "fist me, daddy Bowser" whenever I see the giant lava Bowser. ✊😆
      6:28
You also made *Dry* Bowser's name a lie. 😎
      9:18
Yep. Definitely a smart play, and it secured second place for you, as you almost certainly would have dropped to third without that use of horn.
      11:01
For that turn, "going wide" would have been the recharge strip I always find myself using. Which is probably why that's the strip I'm always using.
      11:26
At least it wasn't my eyes having a skill issue. That would have been embarrassing for me.
      12:02
I was poking fun at how you mixed up the number of times including last night with the number of times before last night. 😆
      14:20
(in "Stone Cold" Steve Austin voice) *WHAT?*
      16:19
That's fair. Combining your name with Han Solo because of the smuggler connection at this timestamp just didn't work out.
      16:40
Getting as "unhinged" as you were during the "Go Link" moment could happen again. It'll just take something epic to make it happen. 😎
      19:45
We may never know the glory of what would have happened if Nintendo had chosen Melody Motorway for you, but I'd like to believe there's an alternate universe *somewhere* that got to enjoy that experience.
      21:38
Sometimes "not boring" is a double-edged sword. I'm getting "A Tale of Two Santas" flashbacks when Bender was being executed between 2 magnets. I forget the line leading to Professor Farnsworth's response, but I clearly remember the professor saying "but it's not boring".
      23:27
There was still a little more time before the shock needed to be used, but whichever player used it thought it was better to use it a little too early than a little too late, especially since I didn't notice any dodges here.
I'd have probably waited until first place was approaching a glider section, but waiting would run the risk of giving other players a dodge that they weren't given by the shock being used here.
      25:51
I have no words. Just two emotes. 😆🤣
      27:51
I may have pre-emptively replied to this one during my commentary 2 timestamps later. 😛
      29:51
      It couldn't hurt. 🤣
I'm glad you enjoyed the commentary again. 😄
