    made rough time stamps: i seriously THANK YOU animator., wish i had your mad awesome skills..
    0:05 : bacterium enters the intestines; notice the flagella which enhances the motility of the bacterium. (Peritrichous)
    0:30 Once it reaches the mucosa, it uses its specialized type III secretion system for direct delivery of Salmonella proteins into the cytoplasm of the epithelial cells
    1:23 These proteins then mediate alterations in the actin cytoskeleton that are required for Salmonella uptake
    1:46 This alteration triggers formation of membrane ruffles to reach out and enclose the adherent bacteria within large vesicles by bacterium-mediated endocytosis
    1:48 Once it crosses the epithelial layer of the intestine, it is phagocytosed by *macrophages* where it resides and survive antimicrobial environment by sending "distractions" to resist potential altered host cell signalling
    2:06 In addition, a second type III secretion system directly delivers bacterial proteins across phagosome to remodel Salmonella-containing vacuole, promoting bacterial survival and replication..

    so what I think is happening here:
    The cell searches for a suitable area to inject proteins or whatever those are
    They inject them into the sides of the intestine
    the proteins form long chains that push the side of the intestine up so it can swallow the salmonella
    once inside, the salmonella makes copies of itself, which mature into adults
    hope this helped

    What exactly is Salmonella injecting in the epithelial cell? And where is the epidermal-growth-factor-receptor? In literature it says, that it needs the receptor to enter the cell.

      Idk either,
      Salmonella isn't a virus, but a bacteria so it doesn't act like a virus, unlike this video and bacteria reproduce on their own, plus a cell can hole many bacteria or viruses
      This video is the opposite of reality

    • @marvinm.7634
      @marvinm.7634 Před 6 lety +9

      this video is farly accurate. the salmonella binds to the endothelial cells via membrane binding proteins. then it uses a type III secretion system to inject effector proteins that promote the formation of filaments. my guess is that its actin filaments. these then bind to the binding site of salmonella and lead to endocytosis of the bacterium into the endothelial cell. now that the salmonella is in a vesicle in the endothelial cell, it can proliferate. also salmonella can exit the endothelial cell on the other side (basolateral side) and enter into neighboring endothelial cells and macrophages.
