the lyrics:
I am the world that hides
The universal secret of all time
Destruction of the empty spaces
Is my one and only crime
I've lived a thousand times
I found out what it means to be believed
The thoughts and images
The unborn child that never was conceived
When little worlds collide
I'm trapped inside my embryonic cell
And flashing memories
Are cast into the never ending well
The name that scorns the face
The child that never sees the cause of man
The deathly darkness that
Belies the fate of those who never ran
You got to believe me
I'm talking to you
Well I know it's hard for you
To know the reason why
And I know you'll understand
More when it's time to die
Don't believe the life you have
Will be the only one
You have to let your body sleep
To let your soul live on
I want you to listen
I'm trying to get through
Love has given life to you
And now it's your concern
Unseen eyes of inner life
Will make your soul return
Still I look but not to touch
The seeds of life are sown
Curtain of the future falls
The secret stays unknown
Just remember love is life
And hate is living death
Treat your life for what it's worth
And live for every breath
Looking back I've lived and learned
But now I'm wondering
Here I wait and only guess
What this next life will bring - Hudba

Wish you write all the songs of black sabbath .
Natalia Carolina Pérez Motta I listened to this as a teen and never knew all the lyrics, I thought from what I could decipher that it was about reincarnation. It is a great day to see all the lyrics.
Geezer Butler wrote the most lyrics, a lot think the Oz did(he did some.)
Where did you learn the lyrics? or have you got very good ears?
Thanks.
Geezer Butler did most of the lyrics in most of sabbaths songs.. He would close his eyes and the words would just come to him as he would sway front to back in a rythmic motion. Ozzy usually came up with the melodies and Iommi of course would come up with the riffs.. Bill Ward would play drums "around iommi or ozzys singing".. Black Sabbath was one of those bands whos members all just clicked and the results were magic.
Well put.
Love is Life and Hate is living dead. Beautiful.
The riff, the lyrics. This song takes you to places.
There is no such place
cant even describe how beautiful this song is
Totally agree....how the hours drag on but the years fly by.....
Its both beautiful and so emotional.
As James Rolfe himself said in the Earthbound video. He believes that Giygas is the same protagonist of National Acrobat.
As a theory states that Ness and Giygas is basically the same person. But Giygas is ness evil and own sentient side.
It sure does
This was my Brother's favorite song . Unfortunately he passed away on November 15th last year . Today is his Birthday, he would have been 52. He was also a great Musician too. He could play the hell out of a guitar.
My condolences :(
Man that moment when you are a little older, and you realize that the messages in Sabbath were always positive and urging you on to live your life with love, a down to earth attitude but a with a spiritual touch
Geezer writes all the spiritual stuff..master of reality album lyrics are deep
True
Old man here. Our old bands are awesome. Yours suck!
Geezer wrote everything
Ahead of their time for sure
"Just remember love is life
And hate is living death" is such a beautiful lyric from a band that people portray to be as "praising the devil." They clearly haven't listened to any Sabbath!

Brought this album to 9th grade art class in 1973. The art teacher was cool. Every friday was record day. We could bring in an album and play it while we drew, made clay stuff. The good ole days.

Geezer was a badass for coming up with these lyrics, way beyond time.

i got to shake his hand at a barnes and noble when he was doing a signing of his book “ask dr ozzy”. war pigs was playing on the store sound system. i told him it was an honor to meet him. he looked me in the eye and said “the honor is all mine”. a total gentleman who has read all of Tennyson etc.
It's amazing how clean and clear Ozzy's vocals are. He's a great singer. I'm always astonished when people say that Ozzy can't sing well. WTF?

Sabbath is the type of band when you sit and fully listen you realize how gd great they are and for the time period when you had Zeppelin, The Beatles were ending and Deep Purple was making their best records. There was Sabbath who took rock to a revolutionary level and is truly underrated and very important band.

A word masterpiece
I don’t even know what the fuck they’re trying to say. But somehow, I understand perfectly. I love Black Sabbath.
that riff, is way...way too underrated. like wow, people always think Paranoid or War Pigs when you mention Sabbath, and while those are good songs, people so often miss out on gems like this
Paranoid / War Pigs / Iron Man are way too overplayed...
gotta agree with you there
I mean War Pigs is always going to be one of their very best for me, no matter how many times I hear it. Not just one of the best riffs ever, that track has like three or four of the best riffs ever on it. And Geezer kills that song from start to finish.
that's true too, I think it's try to say that they were basically always pumping out the best metal riffs
For me Classic Sabbath songs are In to the void, Children of the grave, Killing yourself to live, National acrobat, Under the sun. These are songs whose geniouses are un matched & un parellel. Paranoid has sort of become most talked about heavy metal album. Black Sabbath is much more than that. I am sure most of you agree here!
One of the greatest songs ever

They were broken up when I was a kid then in 2000 they reunited at ozzfest...was not announced. I was there at 10 am listening to ok bands but then ozzy played at 10pm and then original sabbath at 12 I was blown away...everyone had left thinking it was all over and I was 2 feet from ozzy headbanging to children of the grave and snowblind.
No one cares how old u are bitch just shut up and listen
@@obschevy2965 Yeah, folks actually do care considering most his age listen to straight up garbage these days.
When I was in the 10th grade, I saw them on the "Master Of Reality" tour...right down front. Back then, a lot of concerts were what they called "festival seating", no chairs, pull up a spot on the floor and sit, or stand. I was that kid who had to be as close as possible. Ozzy was about 8 inches past the reach of my hand. Two opening bands, Sweathog and Wild Turkey (featuring former Jethro Tull bassist Glenn Cornick), and Sabbath for $5. Those were the days.
These are some of my favorite Ozzy vocals. The vocal melody, along with his delivery, add a lot to the song. "Solitude" and "Wheels of Confusion" are standouts too.
4:52 for me the most epic Black Sabbath moment. It just feels so goddamn good, I always smile when this comes in. Sadly it is that short :cc

The arrangement is very classical, avoiding the verse/verse/chorus/verse structure of most popular music, this song has 3 distinct movements. The 1st based around a slow harmonised dual riff in a natural minor key, the 2nd a funky pentatonic bluesy, part palm muted, riff and the third a marked increase in tempo in a major key with a pentatonic bluesy outro and classical music inspired ending ( 6:02 ) with a twist right at the very end of the song..a rapidly ascending chromatic riff ( 6:09 ).
The 'first' movement possibly inspired the Metallica song 'Fade to black'.

Yes, great song, and a great group, I grew up hearing Ozzy sing.
Black Sabbath is unique!!!! Great track!!!
This is by far one of Sabbath's best
Those guitar riffs...Damn.. Even the devil himself would get hypnotized by them 😍
