We bought a home like this in Southern California. They call it The Next Gen and we absolutely love it. It’s 2 story. The next Gen area has its own entrance way from the outside. It also has sliding glass doors going out the bedroom into the back yard. It came with a stackable washer/dryer, refrigerator, and convection oven/microwave combo. You can enter it through the kitchen also. In the main house there are 2 bedrooms, kitchen open family room area with fireplace and one bathroom. Sliding glass doors into backyard. Upstairs are the master bedroom with large bathroom and 2 other bedrooms and another bathroom. The laundry room is also upstairs. We use the Next Gen area for my husband who is bed bound with medical issues. We love it here and it was the best decision we ever made. Our daughter and son in law also bought one and his mom lives in the Next Gen area since losing her husband. It has been wonderful for them.

Another great use for this 2-in-1 is for people like my parents. They are retired, and they live on the lake in The Angelina National Forest, so everyone wants to go and visit them. It’s just the two of them full time, but whenever myself, my husband, and 12-year-old step-son come to visit for a weekend or a week it would be perfect. My boy has multiple special needs, and is 24-hour care with a feeding tube, a wheelchair, insulin pump (lots of equipment!!!!). BINGO!!! This one is “IT”.
“Guest Suite”: Besides an apartment for parents, that suite could be a rental if it had a separate entrance. It’s hard to tell, but the BR seems excessively large. In the kitchen, I would add cabinets along the wall by the entry with a small apartment size stove/oven or a 2/3 burner camper stove with oven just to make the suite fully self contained.
Kitchen layout is perfect for me. In the dining room, I think the big solid glass windows are just too much glass for that space. Maybe a 3 panel slider instead? Master bath needs a tub.
I don’t care for the brown/gray color combination on the exterior... but that’s an easy fix.

Hello Mr. Chance. I like this house with the in law suite, it's like being in an hotel room. I pray that you and your family are doing well, especially your little star, your son.He is adorable and handsome. You can talk to your self, just don't answer yourself. I'm not being mean, just funding with you sir. I like to hear you talk and show us these wonderful homes. But please, make or take a time out with your beautiful family. Keep those homes coming to us.Thank you, and God Bless you.Oh, show us more site homes too.

This is only my second home tour of yours I've seen. What I like about your tours is that you are very thorough and fast enought not to get bored but slow enough to cover everything. This place is way more square footage than what I need. I could live in the in-laws quarters but I'd have to have that master bathroom shower, as that was fabulous!!! I'm in a 1973 mobile home 14x60 that needs a new roof and ceiling repairs and electrical work. Living in Montana we usually have pitched metal roofing and have to meet a snow baring weight factor. Mine is an old flat roof that's fir sure seen better days. Could never afford a new one like what you're showing, but it's fun to look. Kind of like back when we'd get the Sears and Roebuck catalog. And you do make your tours fun!!!

Hi Chance! I like watching your videos while I’m at work on watch ( waiting for an alarm or the phone to ring ). In response to your question, my favorite thing is a toss up between the master suites and the pantry...in particular the pantry dance always brings a smile to my face even if I’m having a crappy day. I must agree with one of the other commenters, you do a fantastic job at showing these homes. Thanks for keeping us entertained and informed of what’s out there at the same time. Safe travels

@@kristycoggins6510 At about 3:25 , freeze the video. You'll see the outside measurements for the overall floor plan. It also shows measurements for the bedrooms, living room, dining, (not sure about the kitchen), etc. Closets, bathrooms and utility room don't show the dimensions, but you can get a good feel of it by what's shown in the video. Overall, it looks like the entire house is 2,398 sq. ft. (shown in the description). You're not the only one who doesn't always catch the base price. I've done that too. Hope that helps a little. 👍😊

They WILL - if they LIVE there. They are not guests. Guests don't need a suite in your home. They are lucky to get an unencumbered guest room! LOL! I think the idea behind the suite was to have elderly relatives living with you, but have their own space when they can or should no longer live alone. But you know your people and whether or not you can stand them being this close to you or not. Some of them can be a lot to handle.

This is a great house. All I need is the in-law apartment though. That is perfect for me. One thing I saw I didn't care for is the location of the hot water heater. It takes a lot of water to get hot water to the other end of the house. It would be nice if they could centrally locate the hot water heater. Thanks for sharing Chance

You asked what rooms I like most-the deal makers/breakers for me are the kitchen (storage, layout, appliances/ sink type,) baths (storage, bath/shower, ADA accessibility) and laundry (full size side by side vs stacking, room for a freezer, storage/hanging space.)
Thank you! This was a very nice example of a potential winner-needs grab bars in all the baths, though!😉😉
