  • Ordered these two bags to see them both in person. Shipping one back. I noticed there no real reviews of capacity videos for the Cargon so I thought I'd make something up real quick. Both the Osprey Transporter Duffel and the Mammut Cargon Duffel were great bags. I ultimately went with the Mammut.

Well that was really useful in helping me decide that I DO NOT need a 100L or more bag for my trip! It's amazing how many videos there are showing off the bag and its features, but "litres" means nothing until you can actually relate to it. Thanks!

PseudoThief I thought the same thing when I was looking! Hence this video! Thanks for the input!

thanks for the review. the volume is too low. do you use packing cubes for packing stuff in when you travel?

short sweet I don't. I'm not that organized. Just fold stuff like it was going in a suitcase and stuff it in.

Thanks for this review. So in the end, both duffle bags have one gigantic main compartement and thats it? No padded compartement for notebooks? No separate shoe compartement? Only one big hole for clothes?

69indigoblue Correct. Neither have a padded compartment for a notebook specifically. The Mammut has decent sized pockets on the ends and I did put a pair of loafers in there. They both have a handful of small mesh pockets inside for small items and keeping them from getting lost. But yes, both seem to be built for sheer volume with less emphasis on organization. In the end, I kept the Mammut. The Osprey has a rock solid warranty, but the Mammut just felt like it held more gear from my trip. Sorry it took a week to respond....

@@itsarubiconday how is the durability of the mammut bag, do you still use it after 5 yers?

@@SileDevil Hi Sile. I do still use it, but not nearly as often. Maybe once or twice a year. It has held up well. The heavy denier on the bottom has scuff and is scratched, but not frayed. Some really minor stitching is coming undone on one of the handles where it is attached to the bag, but it’s minor and I’ll just have it redone in the future. Certainly has scratches on it and scuffs but it’s held up pretty well IMO. I would compare it to the North Face duffel or Patagonia’s Black Hole bags. It just seems invincible. Not waterproof and it never claimed to be, but I do find the zippers allow water to get in somewhat quickly and easily. So if you’ll be near water at all, maybe look something with better flaps or zippers. Other than that, I’m happy with the purchase still. 👍🏼

Hello. How much cargo in lbs. did you pack in 110L volume? Just an approximate number, please. Good day.

Edward Peña I used it for a cross-state bicycle ride. It held all my gear, including food for a 6 day event, albeit stuffed to the gills. If I had to guess, it was 60-65lbs. Very similar to carrying a 60-70L backpack on your back when fully loaded. It was almost too uncomfortable to carry on my back it was so heavy.
Hope this helps a bit. Sorry I didn't see this sooner.
