Karyns 1/12 Scale Honda 1976 CB100 - Aoshima plastic kit

  • Karyn has recreated her motorcycle in 1/12 scale. The original kit is a CB400 by Aoshima. Karyn searched high and low and in between for a Honda CB100. But in Korea, she found a CB400! Close enough!
The yellow model was repainted white with blue and black trim just like the original bike she had back in the 70's.
The kit is super detailed, even the engine has internal parts and details. It's fun to recreate your old cars and bikes, and models take up much less room than buying the real ride! AND, you don't need a helmet!

My brother bought a 350 scrambler Honda.
When he was in the Navy it was sold to a friend of the family and they rode it and then started taking it apart. He found it, rebuilt it and is riding it now and he has even put it in a car show here in Ogden. Thanks again guys for your work

That model turned put great. I tried to learn to ride motorcycle when I was younger but found my hand cordation was not good for riding one. Figured it would be saver for me and others on the road if I stayed off of them. Thanks for sharing the build and the story behind it. Well done Karyn.
    GOD BLESS 🛵💖🛵💖🛵💖🛵💖

Greetings Karen, my name is Jeff I live in Melbourne Australia back in 1972. I bought my first motorbike which was a CB 100 Honda. Mine was red on the fuel tank and we fight pinstriping. I wrote that bike all around Melbourne on youth camps and everywhere And I looked after her so much I used to get a toothbrush to clean the spokes but now here I am 70 and brought back a lot of memories when I was watching that on your CZcams channel this Wednesday morning anyway all the best to you and your husband I don’t know your husbands name, but just tell him he does some beautiful model workyours, Jeff, Melbourne, Australia

My first motorcycle was similar, a Honda CL 350 twin. I can't recall what year it was, but I soon traded up to a Honda 750 Four, then on to a few Triumphs, and finally an old Harley. I don't ride anymore, so this sure brings back some fond memories.

Dale: Model each of your auto's you had growing up. That would create a 'time-line' of your life. That would be a fun 'pictorial' look of your history🙂

It would be fun. Hard to find a 29 Buick and a 28 dodge. But the rest… well a Granada. And a silhouette van… OK might not be able to do it at all!

I had a 350. The speedometer on it didn’t work correctly. It read super low. Id never ridden a bike before except a dirtbike, and when I bought this 350 I’m going down the freeway and I’m looking at the speedometer and it says I’m going 50. And I’m thinking man I’m going to get run over. I got to speed up having no idea what speed felt like on the bike. Got her up to 70 when I started passing cars like they were standing Still. I’m guessing I was actually going somewhere around 110

Hi guys. Well my first motorcycle if you want to call it that was a minibike which had like a lawnmower engine on it then I bought a Bridgestone motorcycle, which they must not have been in business for long as you never see any and then my first brand new Honda motorcycle was the same as yours a CB 100 had the blue top and white bottom on the tank and I have a picture of it around here somewhere if I can find it I’ll email it to You. The motorcycle dealer at the end of the summer couldn’t believe I put on over seven or 8000 miles on that little motorcycle. I went everywhere with it and if I remember gasoline was 20 or $.25 a gallon that would’ve been in 1972.
It was lotta great times on it.

1973 I bought a CB175. Always seemed to be enough power to haul 2 people. Sold it in 74 when I went to work at Washington DC and never bought another.

The gas tank repaint looks great. It looks just like the real thing. Were the metallic parts chromed plastic out of the box? They're very shiny.
