Hm. This version is 10k% better than the original release. I watched the original when it came out and then The Snyder version recently before watching the the original with family. That was torture....

in every Snyder DCEU movies, there's a book called steelbook. it's actually explained not just concept art but also lore of the movie and comic it based on. you can only have that book if you bought with Blu-ray version + steelbook.
my nitpicking about this movie is the colors, Snyder best movie that have colors is watchmen and BvS, both are from same cinematographer. another nitpicking is that amazonian hymn, I prefer wonder woman theme.

The great thing about Zach Snyder's DC movies is they say something. They aren't just about action and adventure like Marvel movies (which isn't a bad thing to be, just serving a different purpose). Man of Steel, BVS (Extended) and Zach Snyder's Justice League have plenty of superhero action, but they're really about deeper philosophical conversations. That's why BVS devotes over 40 minutes to various characters discussing what Superman means to the world. What other superhero franchise would devote that much time to such a deep dive? Some people hate that because they want the easier product they get from Marvel, but I love that Snyder took the time to ask his audience to think about some things.

Darkseid is more like a Thanos type villain, but he's MUCH stronger. His Omega Beams are like Superman's heat vision, but he can control where they go. It's super cool.
Unless that's just you comparing movie counterparts without acknowledgement of the comics.... Darkseid is NOTHING like Thanos other than the body build design. Even the capabilities are not comparable. Plus this is just an avatar, true Darkseid exists beyond the plane of DC universe's reality. That's what Darkseid Is.

Silas Stone didn't know Victor would become that powerful when he used the Mother Box on him. He was just in a frantic race to save his son's life. He kept Victor in hiding while he did more secret research on the Box's powers in the meantime. When he had a good enough foundation of it's capabilities, he recorded it and gave it to his son on a tape recorder since Victor didn't want to talk to him. Victor was still in that phase of hating his dad for his mother's death, and for turning him into another of his science projects.

The face of the Justice League has always been the DC Trinity which is Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman. Every single member of the league once they get more members looks up to those 3 and each of 3 balances the other which is why they make good leaders of their team. Speaking of leaders 1 could lead the group in the absence of the other which is what Batman is doing in this movie most of the time. The DC Trinity is important to the compassing story of the DC Universe which is why it was a big deal and why everyone went nuts when we saw all 3 in the same live-action movie "BvS: Dawn of Justice" for the first time in history. Check out the opening credits for the Justice League Unlimited animated series at the final shot it was the Trinity upfront with all the heroes flying above them.

They filmed the Snyder Cut on a budget of $70 million dollars, in order to get the footage that they need by filing in the gaps for what was removed.

@@NewfieMovieReactions it got butchered by WB and Joss Whedon, and none of the actors liked working with Whedon, whom was credited as the director of the film as Zack Snyder's Daughter, Autumn, committed suicide in March 2017, causing him to drop out of the project.
Those 70 mills were used mostly for CGI. They only filmed about 7 minutes of the movie. The post-apo scene and Bruce's talk to the Martian Manhunter. Plus probably Martha turning into MM.
Let's be specifically correct. The budget for the entire original JL was $200m. When zack stepped down, they added addtional $100M to finish it by Joss Whedon. Then when WB decided to allow Zack to finish it, they added addtl $70M.
So technically the Snydercut has a total budget of approx $270M

Fun fact for the Marvel fans: The reason Ares was able to to wound Darkseid isbecause Ares is fueled by war and conflict.
And because that was the biggest war in Earth's history, it literally made him the strongest person on that battlefield.
With all its flaws, I stand this is the best "Comic book film" today. The rhythm, the dialogue, the delivery of explanations (and lack there off), the cliff hanger, all those are point by point, how a real superhero comic book would be.

But know that you bring Marvel, in those movies you donÂŽt expect to explain the origin of each hero in every film, because thay form part of a continous universe. But in the JL, this is the first apearance of many characters (from our perspective), but beaing a "true comic to film project" some elements are made, like if had lost some volumes of some self contained stories before jumping into the big annual event.
Diana Prince (Wonder Woman) is a museum curator and conservator/archaeologist. she does the same work I do, she just looks way better (I love it)!

I watched ZSJL last night and it is by far my favorite superhero movie of all time. Iâve watched numerous times and that slow mo scene of the league rushing into steppinwolfs tower is sooo good

I loved how Snyder spent time to introduce each character in the film. My favorite scene from the first half is Barry saving Iris, when he moves so fast his shoes fall apart and the glass looks like liquid before shattering.
How anyone at Dc and Warner Brothers doesnât see this film as the most amazing thing and want to build off of it, Iâll never know

Honestly, DC gets such a lot of shit for the way they ordered their movies and Zack Snyder gets even more shit for his films, but THIS is what I want to see more of. Sure Marvel found success in having solo movies, then an Avengers movie, and repeat again and again and again. But the reality of the MCU is much of it is just filler. There are many MCU films we could have skipped and Endgame would still have made sense and not been effected at all. And a lack of a Black Widow or Hawkeye movie did not stop audiences from loving these characters in the first Avengers film. And this brings me to another point. X-Men. The first superhero movies I ever watched. I had never read a comic and at the time had never even heard of any of the characters in those films. And yet, I watch X-Men and loved it and I didn't give a damn we hadn't got a Wolverine, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm or Professor X film first. The film was made well and it gave us all the information we needed. Same goes for the Guardians of the Galaxy films. Didn't need a Star Lord film or a Rocket Racoon film to get it. And also the animated DC movies are great. Justice League War is a great animated Justice League Origin film which needed no films before it to explain who these characters were, and they had more characters than in this film. The truth is, a good film does not need to rely on prequels to explain the characters. You can get to know the characters just from watching their actions and getting a feel for who they are by what they do. Almost said a Batman line there. Not who you are, but what you do. And what this franchise does is what wins it for me, what makes it better than the MCU in my opinion. The Snyderverse focuses on a story, rather than characters. Justice League comes directly after BvS which comes directly after MoS. These films are separate and yet together. A solo Superman film, a hero vs hero film and a huge team up film, make a better trilogy than any of the MCU trilogies we have so far. They have more connecting them into a single story than the 3 Iron Man films do or the 3 Thor films. And when you add Wonder Woman, it's the most disconnected, and yet, the Photo from BvS, the introduction of the Amazons before Steppenwolf attacks, the introduction to Zeus and Ares so it can be brought back for Darkseid flashbacks. They also connect brilliantly where other franchises fail. And Suicide Squad supposedly would have had greater ties, had they allowed the original cut to be released. The only film I think needed to be put before Justice League was Aquaman. In the same sense Wonder Woman helped introduce the role of the Amazons in defending the mother box and fighting Darkseid, the same treatment from Aquaman could have been useful. But we get to know all we need to know about Flash and Cyborg. Their short scenes explaining their backgrounds is enough. I cannot believe how well connected, how well made these films are. And I feel like the criticism they get is from people who just wanted DC to be a MCU clone. And this film leaves such a lot of set up for a Justice League Sequel and yet that potential is being squandered. Zack Snyder seems to be the only person with a plan for DC and yet he is the one person WB is trying their hardest to keep away. I have said a lot already and I could honestly talk about this for hours. These films are brilliant. And yet the studios and the fans seem to get stuck up over small things such as, why didn't we get a Flash film first.

Superman is the face wonder woman is a warrior, Batman is the strategic mind, cyborg is the mega mind, flash also a warrior, green lantern is the intergalactic representative, Martian manhanhunter is a mix of almost all characteristics. Aquaman is a warrior and representation of the Atlantians they all have their roles to play
Martian Manhunter is the heart and soul.
Also cyborg is a very traumatized character. I remember watching the original teen titans and he would always have an inner struggle between machine and man

Not sure if anyone has pointed this out, but in WW's first scene, when the terrorist flips that switch on his weapon, he wasn't switching to a different type of round. He was switching the rifle to full automatic fire. I think the other two modes there are single fire and safety.
(I'm not very knowledgeable about firearms, but I'm pretty good at interpreting icons.)
Not only was this an epic movie but also having the cameo of Marc Mcclure-jimmy Olsen from the 1978 Superman as "gerry" the police office, was class.

Darkseid is more like a cosmic god-like multiversal being. He lives on the Planet Apokolips, which exists outside the multiverse. In the history flashback he was still called Uxas and he wasn't as strong as he is now that he has the Omega Effect, which is like cosmic energy he can shoot from his eyes. Thanos is a child compared to Darkseid.

When the writers pitched Thanos to the Marvel execs, their response was something like "if you're going to rip off the New Gods, might as well make him look cool like Daekseid"

The 4 hour run time was made my HBO Max who was going to stream the movie. So Zack packed it with everything he could do that every actor associated with the movie could get full payment for their work. According to Zack Snyder actors like Cyborgs mother, the Icelandic women who sang to Aquaman, the actress who played The Flashes future wife Iris West, the principal from Cyborgs school, the lady who Cyborg was watching and wound up getting evicted from her apartment, and many other actors replaced by the Russian family, they only received minor compensation for their work and in order to get paid in full they needed to appear in the movie, so Zack put them all in the 4 hour cut and replaced the Russian family
One thing that isnât explained in the movie but the director (and comic nerds) confirmed is that Darkseid was actually known by the name Uxas before he became the ruler of his planet Apokolips. He also wasnât as powerful yet because he lacked the Omega Effect which gives him his overpowered abilities and made him a New God. So the Darkseid of the present is a completely different beast from the young Darkseid that was defeated by the old gods. He is the top dog of DC villains.

in the beginning it's uxas (teenage darkseid with just very high level physical abilities) not darkseid, he still does not have his omega powers but still it took 4 old gods to knock him out and soloed a lantern easily. darkseid with omega effect is much much more power, which is the version in current movie storyline, this version would basically massacre any high universal or low multiversal being (comics)

In the flashback darkseid hasn't become a god yet he is about as strong as steppanwolf later on he gains the omega effect which makes him hella lot stronger unfortunately we will never see him in action

You know the Battle of the Five Armies? They armies of man, elves, Amazons and Gods and Atlanteans defeated Steppenwolf the first time, to save Middle Earth.

In case if you're wondering, Steppenwolf and Darkseid are indeed related to each other. Steppenwolf is Darkseid's uncle, general and herald. In the comics, Darkseid was not the only child. He had an older brother but Darkseid took the throne for himself. Darkseid also has at least two children. He was not dad of the year to say the least. Treats his first born like shit.
This version of Steppenwolf was one of the characters that got a much needed redemption. Dude was a badass and felt like an actual threat. His armor was awesome. I loved that it was basically alive and it reacts to whatever mood Steppenwolf is in. I also liked that this time, he felt more like a character. We now have a better understanding of his motivations. Dude really regretted his choices in trying to fuck over Darkseid and we feel bad for him. All he was trying to do was go back home and get his honor back. Half of the time, he feels like he was going to cry at any given moment!
DCs best movie with the same impact as the original Avengers. Look forward to part 2.

When the mother box wakes, it calls their master and then the mother box opens a boom tube. At the end desad said to darkseid that mother box destroyed Because superman forcefully separated them so now they can't open boomtube. They have to travel the old way.
