    Out of all the DIY conundrums I've encountered, this one surely tops the complexity chart!

      You can take it to your stereo shop and they can easily do it for you.

    Would also like to see cabin acoustic measurements before and after. I've worked with sound deadening in previous cars and while a product like Dynamat can reduce the "tinny" sound when you tap on surfaces it's applied to, and isolate connecting parts to stop rattles, I've found it's pretty ineffective at blocking/absorbing road noise. You really need to know how the noise is entering the cabin and have an effective barrier/absorber to reduce it. Also, be aware of the weight/efficiency tradeoff for EVs if applying a large amount of this stuff.

    Now to the question everyone is asking; what does the results look like, % improvement?

    Looks easy enough, just time consuming, will there be a video of noise level before and after? I would be interested in seeing that before buying :)

    Technically NOT noise “cancelling”, but noise “reducing”. No inverse wave is created to cancel noise. LOOK IT UP! However, I love the innovation and will probably get get one for my MYP….and Cybertruck.

    For some of the trickier pieces, it might be better to actually cut out the piece with the backer still on it, then peel it off as you stick it in place. That would prevent it from sticking to itself and parts of the car you don't want it on.

    That blue tape is not because someone had that window out. That was from the factory. I have a 2018, and I recently changed out all of the door handles and the mirrors for chrome delete (wish I'd have known about these kits before I started that project). All of my windows, which had never been pulled out before had the blue tape. Tesla must've been using it to hold them on while they were doing initial assembly. Also, they broke on of the clips where you screw the 13MM bolts on my rear window and assembled it anyway. Made it a mess to get apart for me. And the worst part is you can't buy those clips separately. So you have to buy a new window to replace a broken clip (which is removable). 🤦🏼‍♂

    Is it useful to also insulate the hood or won't that make any difference?

    Maybe it doesn’t reduce the noise so there will never be a before and after…😅

    Really sad seeing you put that dynamat on then install the stock paper speakers. Great install though, dynamat is a PITA but really does improve sound deadening.

      This customer simply wanted to improve the road noise, however Dynamat is great to pair with an Audio upgrade as you mentioned!

      Familiarize yourself with the Magnuson Moss Act

    • @TSportline
      @TSportline  Před rokem +5

      NO! Federal Law prohibits such actions
      Federal Warranty Law: The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. 2302(C))
      The Magnuson-Moss Act regulates that vehicle manufacturers may NOT refuse warranty repairs merely because aftermarket parts have been installed on the vehicle. The only circumstance under which the vehicle manufacturer can void the warranties is when they can prove the aftermarket part is directly responsible for (ie causes the warranty) the warranty claim.
