3:18 Fred Ward's reaction to Kevin Bacon trying to hammer in a staple was done in one take, no rehearsals. His reaction is authentic. Hilarious.
yes that's true Bacon missed it that many times to see what Wards reaction would be.
Got it? okay...
1990 a legendary series was born.
What you said. 👍👍

Lahir aku ini film
We had that same kind of fsj. In Qouy at garage
3:19 I always liked how Kevin tries to hit that like 8 times
As though it Needed THAT many hits?
@@csmith563 he missed all but the last one - which is all he needed. I don't think it was intentional either which makes it more funny
11 times and he missed 10. Handy Men, we are Handy Men....not carpenters.
@@drummond06 Yup, it's such a great scene, and it wasn't intentional, as the blooper reel SS Wilson put together shows. Such a great subtle comedic moment.
Actually, it was totally intentional; they discuss it in the director's commentary. Evidently, kevin Bacon used to hit nails for a living and has basically perfect aim so he can hit it whenever he wants.
Everyone, Fred Ward, the great actor in this movie, just SADLY PASSED WAY today at the age of 79! He was a great actor! MAY HE RIP!
I just heard. He will always be a great actor. I came to this video to pay my respects. RIP Earl 😞
Just saw that had no idea he was a fellow Airman :( gonna miss him and his work.
Liked him in The Right Stuff, Escape from Alcatraz and Road Trip
I’ve watched his movies since I was a kid I remember remo Williams and tremors the most
Peace and love
Kevin’s chemistry with Fred had no business being this good. It would have been entertaining just to see these two driving around and bantering even without having to fight against subterranean monsters.
What? No breakfast?
@@HumungusO_o "Baloney and beans!"
@@davidlafleche1142nah, it was eggs. I did eggs. Over easy.
Things were much simpler back then.
And your grand-kids are going to look back and say "Things were simpler in the [2000] "twenties". It's all relative. Our smart phones are going to look "cute".
Fun fact - Val wakes up Earl by jumping on the truck yelling stampede stampede and Earl in his sleeping bag looks like a graboid falling off the truck, and in the ending thats the cliff that the last graboid falls out of and Val says "it suddenly hit me, stampede".
Not only that, but where they are in the beginning will also be where Stumpy will make that "leap of faith".
“It suddenly hit me Y,know, Stampede.”
Kevin Bacon’s planned series would have brought Earl back..
A reunion of this legendary bromance needs to happen.
What planned series? What do you mean Bacon planned it?
@@Will_JC Bacon was producing a new Tremors tv series. The show didn’t get picked up, but there’s a leaked trailer. Just search it.
@@AmityFeatures picked up... seriously in the streaming age who needs some TV exes to decide what programming we get to see.
@@emp0rizzle Streaming executives.
@@AmityFeatures don't think he was going for a streaming platform. They would have to retcon Tremors 2- uh what number are we on now?
8:25 - "We plan ahead, that way we don't do anything right now." I've actually used this philosophy through life.
Works for me
Maybe I'm just a product of a past generation, but I always loved the reluctant hero story. This movie and Die Hard showcased some of my favorite portrayals of reluctant heros.
You are not alone in that, the Reluctant Hero is still a great arc to explore, which is also why I prefer movies like _Die Hard_ (which is my favorite action film) and _Tremors_ so much. And I say this as a Millennial born in 1993. 😉
The best and bravest heroes are the ones that were never looking for trouble or action in the first place. You're absolutely right.
Jaws, which is my absolute favorite film of all time, I think really popularized the reluctant hero trope with police chief Martin Brody.
He's not a muscly hunk of a badass who served in the military and saw crazy stuff. He's just an average family man from the big city who's trying to protect his beach community from a killer shark and will even confront his fear of water head on to do so!
And don't forget, Mad Max, Road Warrior and Mad Max, Beyond Thunder dome..... anti hero, sacrificed himself so the plane could take off......
They are great coz they are believable and relatable. It makes them more human. Now it's all about representation and tick boxes like race and gender are checked.
I don't know why, but this movie is impossible to stop watching. Even 149's times.
Tremors is the most perfect comedy horror film ever made!
The mixed musical score of country-Western and symphonic terror balances excitement and chills beautifully. Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward have perfect chemistry and their constant bickering makes us laugh, even during the intense scenes. Last but not least, the special effects for the graboids are mind-blowing and hold up very well!
Don't be a bummer. Vote for Gummer.
Fred ward and Kevin bacon had such great screen chemistry together in this film....their performance together truly made it the great classic that it is.....rip Fred ward and thank your years of entertainment you gave me and my family thru the characters you played and your hard work portraying them....and same goes to Kevin bacon.....I hope you remain with us for a long time to come Mr bacon.
They say that you know if you are going to like a movie in the first fifteen minutes. Just a ten minute opening and I am ready to watch it YET AGAIN!
This movie has so many little blink-and-you-miss-it moments that make all the characters seem so much more real.
1:56 Earl searching for the lighter before realizing it's in his mouth.
2:03 Val messing with Earl by not giving him the cigarette, and then they share a laugh.
7:46 Walter cracking a beer for them as soon as they walk in.
They don't make 'em like this anymore.
Pretty sure Earl is searching for his cigarettes after he put the lighter in his mouth then seeing the ones of Val and the other way round.
Uhh yeah they do make movies like this. Wtf?
Kevin bacon fail at hitting a nail on a post 🤣
youre right with the blink and you miss but the joke about the cigarette and lighter is that earl has a lighter but no cigarette while val has cigarettes but no lighter
then the one where they giggle is it was an off script moment that val pulled away too quick that earl slipped and wasnt able to grab a cigarette
3:19 val missing the nail 7 times before hitting it.
That was actually improvised by the kevin bacon
You know for some movie franchises, there's just no beating the one that started it all. And Tremors is no exception.
2 is also very good 👍
One of the first great movies of the great 1990s
07:02 "City of 'Perfection'" - and a whole lot of bullet holes 😂
Fred Ward will not be forgotten, RIP
You can tell by the way Kevin uses that hammer, he's an actor.
This was a great flick, I absolutely love this movie, especially the go between with Val and Earl. A very underrated film.
One of my favorite movies from the good days of being a kid…
What a craftsman Kevin Bacon is.........trying to hammer in a nail..........gets it on the 10th hit at 03:19.......hilarious !!!!
Val: What's Nestor paying us?
Earl: 50 bucks. And that's 47 bucks more than we got.
Is Earl saying they only have $3?
I don't know, did you pass 2nd grade?
@@TheBfutgreg Did you?
One of the best films ever made...hands down.
"one of" "hands down"
what a brave bold statement...
He hits nails like a city boy...
:)
This classic is one of the best comedy horror movies ever made. A great cast. I always wished that Bacon had returned for the second film. The iconic trio of Val, Earl, and Bert. I was sad when Fred passed away.
Kevin bacon taking 10 whacks at the fence post is always funny
I love how Fred Ward says Monday, like mondee.
Mundee Tuesdee Wednesdee Thrusdee Fridee Saturdee Sundee
That good ol' southern drawl.
RIP Fred Ward.
One of my favorite moves as a kid, and still remains one of my favorite movies.

This is maybe the best silly horror movie of all time. It's ridiculous, but I just don't care. I still love it.
RIP Fred Ward
I'd have loved a sitcom starring Earl and Val
I love that 67 kaiser keep....I had one once.....it's was a mountain climbing beast....nothing could hold it back....not even four half bald tires.
My family and i saw this movie right before we drove through Death Valley the next morning. Unfortunately, the car broke down. We had to wait for hours for the tow truck to arrive but the real tragedy was the wife and kids would not get out of car to pee. 😂
This is great movie ever I hope the tremor series
This is one of the best movies of all time. Gob bless Fred. Ty dude
RIP Fred Ward
One of those movies that needs to be watched on a big cinema screen.
Even at the local cineplex they don't have 'big movie screens' anymore.
7:23 One of the best quote of the film
Honestly the music in this movie made it WAYYYYY more entertaining and kept my interest threw out the whole movie
Love this film. It's perfect. Opening shot reminds me of Arizona or New Mexico.
This movie has beautiful vibes love this movie
It's a shame the Tremors series with Kevin Bacon got axed before it came to fruition.
You may now rest in peace Mr Ward aka Earl Bassett.
Fred Ward had great chemistry with Kevin Bacon in this movie, he had really good comedic timing. Rest in Peace :'(

This is the best movie ever to see it again I give you five stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ love this movie Bad to the 🍗
I watched this movie with my Dad as a kid. Brilliant :)
This was a great movie.
1:18 that made me laugh so much
It was when I was out camping one time and was sleeping in a back of a track and a friend of mine did the same thing.
They made Earl look like a Grabloid in that sleeping bag. I love the full circle of it at the end.
This awesome film is definitely in my top 10........top 3. Perfect flick.
My second favorite film of all time
