- I was requested to upload a video of the 4M engine running in my 1976 Toyota Crown wagon. This is a cold start after performing a valve lash adjustment. I should probably give the engine bay a clean eh -_-
I've never seen a 4m run that smoothly
Aye, the magnificent Toyota 4M engine in its glory! Music to my ears when it roars back to life~ Many thanks for the upload mate, I really appreciate it. ^^
I have a few questions tho, was the radiator has been painted some time ago? It looks a lil bit new to me. And how did you do the valve lash adjustment? And yeah, I think the engine bay needs some clean up a bit X)c
Hello, the radiator was re-cored back when the head gasket was replaced. The shop painted the radiator to make it look new :) I did record the valve lash adjustment but such video needs actual editing, so will take longer before it is uploaded.
@@thatcommander Ah, I see then. Take your time ye need, slowly n' steadily~ ^^
We have a 4MU engine 2.6 in our 76 sedan.
頑丈なスタイルですね~!
Assuming google translate worked correctly, thank you - it does indeed sound tough even though it's probably only putting out 1/2 the power of a modern Corolla :P
I have a 2m rebuild motor and transmission stored in my heated garage, been in a corner under a quilt blanket for 31 years, you read read right, 31 years, pulled it out of my sisters 1970/71 Crown had both completely rebuilt, but she didn't want the car anymore so I got rid of the car and kept the motor and tranny and it's sitting right where I put it! I'm thinking of getting rid of it now, ( do you think it's time) wonder if there's a market for this old iron?
Hello Perceive, it is a niche market here in Australia, but there are people out there chasing period correct engines, especially "round top" 2M and 4M engines.
エンジン音が超ダイナミック!
but that is a 2m, 4m valve cover is different
Hello Savolaine, early model 4M had round cover like the 2M predecessor.
