I hate 5ME engines they where not one of Toyota's best efforts. They have head heating problems as was pointed out by one of there own who I wont name. Not sure why you had to go to Hastings for a coil kit the local All Tools has them near me I just re did some exhaust studs on a 3SGTE. Re the 5ME I had one and I am glad its gone. :-)
I've got a 2ZZ-GE which works exceptionally well but I am not sure I will like it when I have to reco it. Ceramic cylinders sound great but I might need to talk to NASA if it needs a rebuild.
Systemrat2008 Metal-matrix composite cylinder liners, where ceramic fibers are intermixed with the metal used to cast the liners to improve their strength and wear resistance. This was probably the first use of MMC cylinder liners in a production vehicle.

5m-e is one of the most reliable engines I’ve ever had, you’re talking about the 7m that is trash lmao
@@micho3444 nah he is definitely talking about the 5m-e. Very common head problems. Every 5m-e Crown i've ever touched blows a head gasket.
