Daigo's aggressive Guile was so fun to watch, and Punk's recovery after losing to AngryBird's Zeku who he said he "had no clue what to do against" and also beating Haitani down to the last round last hit for both was spetacular! Season 4 has been absolutely Amazing to watch! My only gripe is that the Poster Boy Ryu has been at the bottom since Post-Season 1 which really makes me super salty that he's not considered strong enough to compete, and other characters like Alex, Ed, Claw etc got more love with their buffs as well.
Outside of that, the only real glaring issue with S4 is that Rashid and Ibuki just make me want to throw up whenever I watch them play. However the Top-8s for all three SFV premieres have been absolutely Spectacular.

I would love to see a Daigo-Punk Kimonomichi. First to 10, and watch as these two geniuses with such creative and brilliant buttons try to figure each other out. Punk has gotten to the point where his mental game and self-doubt are really in control. Daigo remains the Kurosawa of Street Fighter. It's like trying to explain to your friends who simply don't get it why such films are so powerful and visually stunning, and, similarly, why Daigo's buttons are gutsy, beautiful, and interesting to watch. It's why you hear "He did what!" so much in the commentary. His is a style that, win or lose, people still try to replicate with little success. This is what most of the Japanese players get about him that so few of us do. It's why they still revere him, even if his record isn't what it used to be. So awesome to see.

Thats a stupid analysis seeing as thus is a entirely different game thats less defensive orentied, lack of combos, and lack of variety. There isnt a mulitude of ways to play characters in street fighter v . There's one established effective way based and thats that. It all comes down to how well you can hit confirm and execute set play. This is a different game this isnt no where near street fighter 4. Its night and day diffrent. Its not that daigo doesn't have it .Its more to the fact this is a diffrent game with different obstacles.

If you nerf Punk's hit confirm ability just a bit, he would've lost at this match and you gotta give him that. Even Bonchan's Karin hit confirm isn't as good as Punk's but still really great.

Ok. Let me be mr objective.
Guys. This is 2019. I notice people in the FGC have a habit of putting on nostalgia glasses too much instead of embracing the future.
Daigo will always be a legend and it was a tremendous showing from him today, but let’s embrace the current legend that is Punk the alpha.
Don’t come with the excuses of “Karin” and all that cause this man punk has all the fundamentals down pact and doesn’t use yolo tactics.
Despite the lack of a tremendous update, it’s undeniable that the cpt 2019 for SFV has been amazing so far. Let’s just enjoy.
