Being a fat guy I've been passed up by a lot of women. I've heard the "You're a great guy and all but..." more times than I'd care to admit. I get it, I really do. I don't blame any of them. So now I'm doing something about it. So far since the end of January (as of this morning) I'm 57 pounds down. Feels good, however, I still have to lose almost another 130 pounds. I'd really like to get my life back on track. It's no fun being really heavy. UPDATE! So you don't have to scroll through the feed. I'm about 103 more pounds down from the time of this comment. I went through a little bit of a relapse last year but eventually was able to pull myself back from it again. Now that's 160 down from January 2018 and it's over 200 pounds down from my 2014 record heaviest. Thank you for the insane amount of likes and comments, it's overwhelming. UPDATE 3/24/2021 So 2020 turned out to be a real disaster (for everyone) and between quarantine, stress eating and other factors I ultimately gained a lot of weight back. Granted I was still lower than the original time of this post, but it still was a significant amount from this time last year bringing me from 248 back up too 335. In January of this year while still recovering from a back injury I once again forced myself to re-motivate yet again. Currently I am back to kicking ass. I have a weigh in coming up on March 28th. So I’ll know then where I stand. But in the meantime I’m getting stronger, and showing significant improvement overall. I’m back to hiking up mountains. Update 04/07/2021 Okay so as of March 28th the weight is back down to 301. So that’s 163 pounds down from my heaviest and around 60 pounds down from the original time of this posting, So after a brutal 2020 it would seem I’m back on track in 2021. I am documenting it all on my channel. Been driving around the country knocking out hikes. Knocked out some in the Great Smoky Mountain National park, Zion and a few other places. Not sure if the weight has gone down, but my endurance is definitely improved. Update 05/21/2021 Monday I hiked Rim to Rim at the Grand Canyon. It was one of those things I really wanted to accomplish. Now that I’ve done it with I’m going to get back into weight loss mode. Did not want to take on a hike like that going through a calorie restriction.
Congrats man! This is the main difference with men and women. Women get called fat and, generally, they will whine about it. Men get called fat and ,generally, they will try to fix their shit and their health.
Thank you for the kind words! One of my main goals when the health is fixed is a hike up to the top of Long's Peak in Rocky Mountain National Park. I wimped out reaching the top when I was 25 and in decent shape. I don't plan on wimping out this time! (When I'm ready) Again, thank you!
Andrew Thank you for the kind words. In all fairness I do know plenty of guys who whine about it and I am friends with some women who are working on it. I think ultimately it just comes down to the individual. Hopefully more people will get bit by the weight loss bug like I have. Taking back control of my life gives it a new meaning again!
I wish you well on your epic weight loss. I've battled my weight, which feels like a never ending battle for 30 years! It's rough, and some days it feels impossible. The thing about never ending battles is you can't give up. :)
Shawn You said it! I know how easy it is to undo all the hard work. The dangers of slipping into a depression and damage that comes with it. This will be something I fight for a long time, probably the rest of my life. You are right, I can't give up. I've seen what happens when I do and it sucks!! Thank you for the encouraging words!
Not just height shaming, dick shaming too. They can laugh at men for these three things and even say they wanna fuck a Jason Momoa or Chris Hemsworth guy without getting called out for that.
Dude when I see a beautifully sculpted man, it doesn't make me offended, it inspires me to go to the gym. How weak of a person do you have to be to be offended at fit looking people. geez
idk about offended but i know that i get pretty jealous and demotivated seeing a nicely sculpted dude, but i recognize that that’s due to my own insecurity and i certainly don’t blame the other guy for it
@@incoblinko just remind yourself they've earned it. Steroids notwithstanding but at least if they're juicing they're at least doing something to get it.
@@billytheripper4 Id say steroids are just as much earning it as any other method. The amount of shit you have to put up with to be on roids would fucking suck. Its just a different method of getting what you want
Men working out to stay in shape: "Healthy lifestyle" "A man need to be strong" Women working out to stay in shape: "Unrealistic ideals enforced by patriarchy" "Conforming to social pressure" "Insecure about one's body image"
the glorified idea of staying in shape for a woman is an anorexic girl .. lets be real -- the issue lies when women are hypocritical and start blaming men when they go ahead and treat each other differently
I don't have statistics to back this up, but I assume that you're going off of personal anecdotes as well, so: I and most girls I know were bullied for our looks and just bullied in general from a very young age. This "women get coddled and aren't used to bad feedback" mentality is baffling to me. That only applies to *pretty* women. Unattractive women get treated basically like men; we don't get anything unless we prove we deserve it. Pretty women are the ones who get things handed to them and only face minimal bullying. I say bullying and not criticism because we're talking about body shaming here, not critiquing somebody's work portfolio. It's not female privilege, it's pretty privilege and it's a significant distinction.
@@SL-ul3yr The bullying takes on a different form for boys and girls though, for boys it's mostly physical for girls it's mostly psychological, which might explain the neurotic tendencies of some women when it comes to critique, whereas boys get beat up which may lead to beating the bully, but also give the impression that violence is a valid solution. We are used to it from childhood that there are way worse things than words. That's not to say that some men can't take criticism, though i've mostly noticed it as a result of pride rather than low selfesteem f.ex. In the end people like to attack stereotypes, because it's easy and everyone knows them, but stereotypes always hold a grain of truth so while it may not be true for everyone, it's definently a trend that women doesn't have to be nearly as good looking (or as accomplished) as men to receive unearned kindness, mostly because i think that's actually a guy thing, to be kind beyond the normal because of looks, but i see a bigger trend for being nasty beyond the normal because of looks for women.
@@SL-ul3yr yes and no it is a matter of scaling. If you compare men and woman on the same measurements for beauty overweight or bland woman are told they are pretty constantly were as men are told they have to lose weight or get haircut and get a real job. I told a female friend once she should lose some weight and everyone called me a dick, but have had many people tell me I should lose weight and call me a child because I like to eat what I want.
Years ago, I had a boss who used to pick on me because I'm short (5'7") but the moment I pointed out that at least I'm athletic, and he was fat AF he became de worst snowflake ever, accused me of fat shaming him ... MY F* BOSS...
@@technologic667 yeah i'm on a diet aswell but i have to say I enjoy it much more to eat after a schedule. Did a small cheat day yesterday but it just wasn't worth it haha. How much do you want to lose more? And do you also lift weights? Might make it easier
@@ichbinrudi haha yes i also had a cheat day yesterday but was on vacation so it was fine i guess. Yes i jog a bit and also lift weight. I used to swim till start of December but it's too cold now so stopped. But will continue working out
season 5 of Orange Is The New Black had TWO comedy scenes of the female inmates raping male guards. COMEDY SCENES. Imagine the outrage if it was the other way around.
yep. the season storyline is that there's been a riot for the prisoners take over, take all the guards hostage and there's a scene were all of the guards are stripped naked, FORCED to strip naked under threats of violence, and then the men are then raped with stuff up there arse. and towards the end of the season, there's a scene were a guard is forced to finger these junkie girls. now, if you make a joke about wanting to have sex with an attractive girl? YOU'RE the sick fuck.
...it was the highest rated active television show during it's first season. I had watched one a half episodes before doing more research about it, which was me googling 'Who the fuck is rating Orange is the New Black?'. It wasn't until then I found out that it's targeted as a comedy. I thought it was a sappy drama. I didn't just not laugh during the first episode, I didn't even recognise the jokes. It was a turning point in my life where I realised I am not like common people and nor do I ever want to be.
1 First of all your wrong about validation. Any normal person wants some sort of validation from the opposite sex its only natural. Secondly, i think its wrong to fat shame but at the end of the day it is what it is. Men are attracted to a women's physical beauty primarily and women are attracted to a man's social status primarily. You dont hear men complaining about status shaming. The same way women flaunt their beauty men also flaunt their status.
1 if ya don't care about male validation then why do most of ya females walk around with 5 layers of cake on ya face?? 😂😂😂 get out of here with that mess
It's easier to make a bunch of unhealthy shit so everyone at least has something to sustain them and so those same companies making it can get paid. That's why healthier foods are more expensive, like as if eating those foods is a privilege. I always thought that junk food should be more expensive.
@@benjamingrezik373 really? So a bag of chips is more expensive than a vegetable or fruit? If that was the case, we wouldnt have such an obesity issue in this country.
I have an ex that used to call me "fat" when we dated...I really wasn't "fat" back then but more "out-of-shape" but she would use that word in an insulting way to put me down when she was angry. Now 10 years later I'm fit and muscular and she ended up turning fat herself. She gained 45 pounds during the pandemic lockdown and when she feels bad about herself she ends up messaging me hoping that I will tell her "oh you're not fat.. u still look great" but instead, I tell her she needs to go to the gym because I'm not going to lie to her and tell her what she wants to hear. she blows up, calls me "abusive" for saying it and blocks me on facebook for a few weeks... unblocks me and the cycle repeats and I laugh every time. And at no time have I ever straight out called her the word "fat".
Women tend to use things like pills to try and kill themselves, while men use weapons like guns or they hang themselves. Their methods are different, and men tend to be more successful with suicide.
@Midas @Midas dying from Tylenol overdose for example isn't pretty and I would not call it cowardly in comparison with other methods of suicide. Liver failure is one of the worst ways to die and isn't quick or painless, and you're right very impractical. I don't think I'd ever actually want to try that again. I'm not really afraid of dying, I'm more afraid of what happens if I fail and end up physically or mentally disabled. Maybe this is cowardly, but ending up disabled and having to rely on someone else wouldn't make the situation better. I know a lot of people who just want attention, probably because of the current social climate, but I imagine it isn't particularly great for your mental or physical health. But to be honest, that's not the only reason people feel depressed. There's often this feeling of life being a meaningless slog of going the same cycles of life over and over again, at least for me. Or the constant looming fear that I'll never actually accomplish anything great other than merely working to survive. Of course those are all issues that can be improved or changed.
@Sideways G mhmm tell us again how literally every single female in the west wants a dude over 6ft with a 6 pack and makes as much as a movie star while looking like one. and females are depressed because they cant get said chad. meanwhile most dudes just want a girl that cares for them, and we like all shapes and sizes.. I've seen what people would call a better looking guy in shape with a big ol girl...will never see the reverse. The fact you just assume females are more depressed then guys shows you have no clue. You can get online even here on youtube and find millions of guy comments on our own looks....but thats just made up i guess. Hell 95% of incels, and socially awkward people are men who were raised by only their mothers. Having no one to teach them how to be a man and survive.
When I was overweight I had Co workers who tapped on my belly and said "I can see that you didn't skip the beer this Christmas". I just laughed because I knew it was a joke, if this happened to a woman however then it is somehow wrong to do. You can't joke with women the same way as you do with men, which is why women will never be truly equal to men in that sense, you have to be gentle talking to them.
This is also why the majority of women comediennes aren't funny. It's ironic watching a female tell jokes when she herself can't take one or can handle a heckler properly.
There is a tourette guy in germany who kinda entertains ppl with his sickness, doesnt take himself serious, sees the funny in it.First episode I saw he walked up to his moms, wobbled her gut and screamed "CHUBBY CHUBBY MAMA!"
Attractive male: 6 figure salary, perfect credit, already own a home, sculpted muscles, funny, smart, strong, alpha traits, has no female friends. Attractive female: just don't over eat.
as a girl I never looked at my barbies and thought that's what I need to look like I think that's an adult idea that kids don't ever think about. as a little girl I'm not thinking about what my body needs to look like... I'm playing with dolls. if dolls were really changing the way that kids think about their bodies we wouldn't have so many obese children
Yeah right? The first time in my life where I though "shit, I'm patheric compared to other people" was in my late teens / early twenties - where I think it is very constive. In fact, I regret my parents value of accepting myself the way I am a bit.
Yeah! I think they weren't giving kids enough credit there. Like as a little boy I'd play with my cousins barbies sometimes, and I never thought it was an adult woman. I thought. "It's a girl" I didn't think it was what a real girl was supposed to look like, or expect anyone to ever look like that. I took what knowledge of what traits I had seen on really women and *recognized* them on the doll. I was recognizing it as a girl, not formulating my idea of a girl from it.
The more I watch Joe Rogan....the more I’m amazed. He seems to articulate everything I agree with. I’ve never agreed 100% with a public figure before. I’m a progressive/liberal, yet I hate these non binary SJWs whining about gender pronouns. Crazy....
Joe Rogan is essentially a modern day philosopher, his values are objectively good. He’s so reasonable. JR for president! (Although he wouldn’t want it)
@@Ruder6163 my guy!! See you don’t buy into all the bullshit people spread about the man, he admits when he’s wrong and apologises for his mistakes. (Even though he shouldn’t have to say sorry because by his actions we have seen him make up for it)
The heaviest i got was 220 lbs. im 5’11 so thats pretty fat in my eyes. I remember i said to my friend “man i lost some of my shape” and he said “you lost all of it”. It did hurt to hear that but i didn’t cry about it. Instead it was a wake up call because i didnt realize how out of shape ive gotten. Fast forward 2 years and now im 180 with a decent amount of muscle. If you don’t like something about yourself, change it.
That’s me rn lol. I’m 220 and 5’10. Not 5’9.5” but legit 5’10 with a slim build. So all my weight is in my thighs tummy and boobies. And my face.. maybe I’ll do something about it or maybe I’ll die of a heart attack 🤷♂️
Ppl also forget to mention height shaming. I'm a pretty good height for my age but I always see shorter ppl being shamed for their height on Social Media constantly, with little to no backlash towards the people that are shaming them. At least people can make the argument that overweight people "can eat healthier, exercise, etc." (not in all cases which I understand 100%) but a shorter person isn't able to just GROW. This isn't only for males by the way, this includes shaming females for being taller.
F1rsttime_online Same. Props to you for being the one person to actually make me feel bad about having a cool name....man I REALLY do not live up to that shit 😂
I was a big kid and cruel words made me lose loads of weight in my late teens, girls became interested in me and my self confidence sky rocketed. Fat shaming on the whole improved my life
and then "the view" they were making fun of short guys. actually showing pics of them and laughing. the one was saying how she can't take them serious, would never date one, and just doesn't like them in general. they were making fun of guys who wear lifts because they are insecure about being short. and they were laughing at them. and they wonder why people hate them with aa passion. then, there's these shows that critique how everyone was dressed on the red carpets. they will pick the worst dressed and shit. and this is them pointing this out and putting it on national broadcasts seen by millions and millions of people. that's a hell of a lot bigger scale than that single kid at school bullying the other. gee, I wonder where the bully might be learning it. and why his parents probably don't give a F about it either.
Why is this upvoted with no reference or proof this was done? Searching with what you described brings up nothing at all. I highly doubt that happened. If you care about height issues, you wouldn’t broadly state things like you did with no reference. It just makes the argument look worse. Hopefully I’m wrong though and they did in fact do that.
Heres the difference, dad-bod is almost a badge of honor even if it was meant as an insult, mom-bod is boarderline insulting haha even if its a compliment. 😂
Fat shaming is one of the best thing that happened to me. The pain and humiliation were fuel for me to get in the best shape. Now when I show to somebody a old photo of me, they were like: yo, you didn't tell us you have a brother.
Shame shaming. We need to shame those who shame others but then we would be shamers too so we would have to shame ourselves. The circle of shame never ends. LIFE IS SHAME!!!! SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME Has the word lost all meaning yet?
As humans we are meant to judge, it keeps us safe and prosperous. The only things we shouldnt "judge" are things people cannot help, like a disability. And screw the people who act as if being diagnosed with obesity is like being born with a disability.
I’ve seen plenty of woman say that they wouldn’t date a guy, just based off a guy’s height alone, but if a guy were to say he doesn’t want to date a girl cause she’s overweight, it’d be mass hysteria People can be ridiculously unaware
Honestly for the last 10 years maybe longer, when ever I get a little heavy my mother will point it out and then I get back to doing over 3 hours of cardio a day. About over a year ago I got up to 220, my mother said look what you're becoming, over a year later I'm back down to 180. It's for the best. Plus cardio is amazing for my mental health. when I fall asleep at night it feels like I took 2 Xanax.
adampincente209 I don't know your height or build, but Mike Tyson was 210 pounds at 5 foot 10 in his prime. Unless you're training for something like a marathon, more than an hour of cardio a day is just extreme. Some pro bodybuilders will do 45 minutes 6 times a week or less ON A CUT, let alone the rest of the time. Hey, do what makes you happy. But it sounds like your mother is pretty unkind to you.
Lift weights and do anaerobic exercise (like sprinting) instead, cardio (as in constant aerobic running on a treadmill) is not as good as those. High Intensity Interval Training or HIIT is also great for stamina & strength.
When my clothes doesn't fit or have an uncomfortable fit... It's time! Mirrors don't lie. Neither do clothes. Healthy diet, lots of water and proper workouts for me!
LG Fone What the fuck? Their relationship is not like that, they r just very good buddies, nothing else. They even have sleepovers sometimes, like lil kids lol
I’ve been fat since I was in 1st grade and I’ve been bullied every single day. Its very hard on the psyche, and causes a lot of psychological trauma. Male fat shaming exists. And its terribly sad.
Honestly fat shaming can be really good. After being called fat by my friends I decided to turn my life around and lost over 50 lbs. I still have a ways to go but I’m already feeling much healthier and more confident in myself.
Body shaming has the power to devastate anyone both mentally and emotionally. Including myself, I know a few guys that have body image problems. It *definitely* exists in men too. Equally in women however. Body Image = A human/societal ailment of the mind
Who told them to listen to them? Tell them to do something about their weight instead of sitting around complaining about it. That's what MEN did, BEFORE they listened to women.
His description of what a fat guy would do if called out is spot on! In junior year of high school, I weighed about 185 (which isn’t a ton, but definitely didn’t look athletic on me). Long story short, my friend called me a fatass one day, and I realized he was kinda right so I just lost the weight. Wasn’t very hard at all.
Men handle it differently. Fat shaming men happens but it's more like a shit test. We might get pressured to man up and change ourselves if we can. Most men, however, are more about practicality, if you can do what you want to be able to do you are generally happy with yourself. Men don't get fat shamed, more like we get shamed for weakness.
I was accused of fat shaming because a very large, unhealthy (already having a lot of health issues and surgeries and Sleep apnea) wanted to date me because he thought I was hot (I used to work out everyday and watch my diet). He tried to make me feel bad when I told him his weight bothered me (he wouldn’t just accept no, he made me explain). It made me mad so I asked him why he wanted to go out with me and he said my personality. I pointed out that he couldn’t know my personality from across the bar so he admitted it was because he thought I was hot. SO I just looked at him and said, “Why am I a bad person for wanting the same? Don’t I deserve the same?” He just walked away. I saw him months later and he appeared to be even bigger.
I'm sorry that guy was like that to you. I agree with you that it's not bad to want the same in a person. If you're staying fit, trying to take care of your body the best you can, then you deserve someone who does the same for their body. I know a guy in his early 60's, he's been overweight his whole life. Over the last 15 years he has become more obese. He's like 5'7'' i'll say at least 275, maybe 300 lbs. He thinks he's God's gift to women. He is not good looking, at all. He always lies and tells people that when he was younger he had a muscular in shape physique another lie. At a party or at someones house he tells them. Oh I usually don't eat the fattening foods they are serving, but he eats the food anyway, another lie. He is very mean, insecure, jealous, selfish, has a low self esteem, always has to talk negative about everybody. Just so he can make himself feel better.I'm trying to avoid him as much as I can, he treats me like crap. I so often feel like telling him how he is, and that he needs to lose weight, and lower his standards of what type of women he deserves. There is a woman his age, that wants to be in a romantic relationship with him, she is pretty, smart, makes good money, owns a house, she is very giving. But she has gained some weight but she's not nearly as fat, and gross looking as he is. But she's not good enough for him, because a woman can't have some extra weight, a belly, or some extra padding, yet he can. He used to be a very heavy drinker, got stinking drunk hit on women, they would be so turned off.Women and men both told me he's a asshole when he is drunk. Women even told me they don't find him attractive at all. I don't feel one bit sorry for him, he reaps what he sows. He is just a mean, loser, evil person who only cares about himself. He never takes accountability for his actions or harsh words towards me, and others.Lies about me, and other people to try to get them to turn against us, and he tells him he's the saint.
My misses loves me for the way I am she's seen me with a good body n the body I currently have....I miss my old body because I looked pretty good but felt uncomfortable....I wish could be in better shape and could do it again but I'm content in how I look now....only a lil bit though...but Caroline loves me for me so I'll take that all day
Men work to survive, women do not. Women have it so easy, they find things to complain about. Men are treated badly and no one cares....politicians, government, corporations....MSM. Yet they all care about the womins!
I don't know if I'd quite generalise to that degree dude. Many, many women have a fucking shitty time. Especially given that one of the things we often complain about is absentee fathers; well it's women who deal with that mess and aftermath. Welfare whores or not, they're still left raising these kids. Plus, if men are, as I believe, good survivors... then all this 3rd wave feminism bollocks shouldn't even bother us. I'm worried that all this Men's rights stuff and the 'threat to masculinity' theory is actually turning us into whining pussies. Shouldn't we just ignore it all and get on with it. Like men? My original point was, that we shouldn't be whining at all. We're men after all.... If I was fat I'd just try and own it - Joey Diaz style!
Yeah, but (and I take your point that everyone was treated like shit under the Squire-archy system), the men were at least allowed to drink in the (usually men only) pubs and taverns... Women were expected to stay at home and darn-socks; often later dealing with the lack of funds due to money spent on drink. I worked in a 'Living museum' in the Midlands (UK) and had to research this behaviour. Women were second class citizens (at best). Men had choices.
I'm on the other side of the spectrum, I got bullied all throughout my childhood for being the skinny guy. I was 5'10 130 soaking wet and was miserable all throughout highschool. People don't talk about that though.
Ya know, funny thing is, I was a fat guy until this year, like throughout my teens and adult life. Barely experienced fat shaming at all, maybe 1 time. Lost a ton of weight, like as much as 100 pounds off my worst and I've been a normal weight since March... I've probably seen more thin shaming this year than like a decade plus of fat shaming lol
@Gloria Smalls Nothing fancy, ate only maybe 1,200 calories a day (better to start at 1,500 so you get used to eating less). Trick there is following serving sizes to a T and measuring everything you eat. And I walked a lot, started at between 2-4 miles a day and worked that up to between 4-6 miles a day. Typically lost at least 3 pounds a week. Starting is hard but after a week or two when you get into habits it's like clockwork.
Its hilarious to me that whenever we identify a problem for women, people point out that a similar problem to men, and you lot think the sloution is to not tackle the problem for either?? "look men dont get affected by this so why should women?" maybe men do get affected by it but dont want to seem weak. Maybe we should start helping people and not try to roll back progress because men can "handle it", maybe thinking men can handle everything is the problem!
Like most bad things in society....Men made being fat funny to take the edge off of a bad situation....That's why men don't care about the issue like women....That's why we have "dad bod" jokes
1:30 it's weird because this actually proves that it's not men or society that makes women ideally beautiful. The fact that the women get offended by fat shaming women and/or that the men don’t get upset about it proves that actually women DO want to be beautiful and the idealistic nature of beauty is innate in our being.
blkmrktgamer11 worked for me , I was a tubby little kid until I was about 12 and got sick and tired of being made fun of so I did something about it. It truly isn’t that hard to not put shit in your mouth 24/7
I believe that men don’t believe in fat shaming or get offended by it due to knowing it’s our fault that we are fat. I personally accepted the responsibility of my body. Someone told me I got fat and i worked a lot on getting it down.
every time someone has called me fat. coincidentally i;ve lost weight. some time after. i see it as challenge. to prove them wrong and cuz their right, just needed someone to be real with me.
When u say you needed someone to be real with you, I hope u mean like someone sat u down and said "look bro, your weight is becoming a huge problem. Its affecting ur health and ur daily life. U really should think about some serious changes to ur lifestyle" and not "lol look at that fat peice of garbage". Being real and being an asshole are two different things
Adam Ant Both, I say. Men are admittedly visual. They search for porn. Even gay men only search for big penis porn. We are under pressure to look attractive. Women get off on books, right, things like trust and understanding turn women on.
1 Males get a pass? Did you bump your head and sleep through all of high school? Males are body shamed constantly but nobody ever speaks up about it because we live in a society that says we are not men if we complain. Society is extremely female dominated and it's full of open hostility towards men and plain misandry throughout the mainstream media. Open your eyes and cut the shit, the patriarchy doesn't exist.
Because unlike men, what more do you have to offer than your looks to a man? Nothing we can't get ourselves. You objectify yourselves and then get mad at us for objectifying you lol.
Broly tha Dawg likewise men to women. No human being needs another to complete them BUT it can be mutually beneficial. Just from my experience Men and women can give each other support, love, cuddles, motivation, provide a loving, comfortable home together, be a team to raise their children together and live together happily into old age :)
As a guy who was fat then became somewhat fit, you can never really win with yourself for the longest time all I wanted was a six pack, I wanted to be able to go swimming without a shirt lmfao, but when I finally reached my goal and am comfortable with my skin I get told that I'm trying to show of like wtf 😂
Men control this society. If we want to be loved then we need to be with men showing compassion. We have to be OK with men not being a cookie cutter guy.
I was always pretty fit and muscular through highschool. After graduating I was overeating and got pretty fat. I recognized the problem and I am spending this summer fixing my problem
Its OK to fat shame men cos we dont have feelings, which is "toxic masculinity" thats a bad thing, but we cant get upset about it cos we are men and dont have the right to be offended about fat shaming unless some one is shaming a woman, but sticking up for women is misogynistic because women are strong and can protect them selves without our help.
I used to be 159 pounds and at that time it felt like I could never loose weight but I am 125lbs now and it wasn't as tough as you would think. You need to have a healthy lifestyle things will come into place on their own doing fad diets for 3 weeks and complaining how bad your metabolism is will get you no where.
I was at this marriage and I was talking to one of the best men (who is like a little overweight, I wouldn't go as far as to call him fat) and his lady. She compared him to me (I'm quite slim). Full on 'fat shaming' but obviously it is fine for her to talk to him about his physique but he can never say anything like that or its verbal abuse...
Men shame women for their weight but also women shame men for something biologically unchangeable Height Shaming. "oh he is so short hihihi" "he is so short like me, omg," "i do not believe you like this short guy" ,"this guy there looking at us...Stop looking at him he is short." Do you want other examples ? These are words i heard from my experiences when i am near or inside girl's social circle, however, they do not reach males ears because women keep their secrets from fear which they call it "politeness". Shaming exists for one reason: to lower the self esteem of the other person and their reproductive value, because of jealousy, insecurity, to feel superior, unsuccessful personal actions. Everyone does it from time to time but we have to evaluate the shaming, why we do it, how this distorts and distracts us from our better expectations/achievements.
Fat shaming is good for guys. We do get shamed our whole lives. Some react poorly to it, others use it to keep ourselves in check. I haven't been emotional about it since I was a young child and was still brutally made fun of for it. It was worse then, because I wasn't an adult and I didn't know how to deal with those situations. Now I do. I don't know what the difference for women is. I'm not as fat as I used to be, but that's more about wanting to live longer and making simple changes in my life. Not any sense of guilt or shame. I guess if you were handsome or had the potential to be good looking, being fat might be shameful. Being ugly it seems to balance out just fine each of them has always taken pressure off of the other. Now that I'm getting skinny I don't like my face (it's a mess, the fat cushioned out the disaster), I have to wear more clothes in the winter. My back, legs, hips, and feet thank me every day though. I can only say to guys, lose enough weight to just feel good every day. I was 357lbs. I'm now 269. I weigh less than I did my sophomore year in highschool. I have never felt this good. I can do so much more now. All you have to do is eat less, and move more!
I may be 2 years late but I think most can agree with what imma bout to say So the idea of “body shaming” and what not I think is when your outright just bullying someone for appearance What is mistaken for body shaming is when like let’s a dude likes fit women, the man likes what he likes and shouldn’t be ashamed of it, it is his opinion that is not body shaming. That can also be reversed if the dude like bigger girls. It’s whatever you like. Either way you get the idea
That's a good point. Whenever I hear about fat shaming I automatically think it's about a woman. I was teased mercilessly for being out of shape, now I hit the gym 4x a week.
I lost over 50 lbs at the age of 38 and I’m 42 now and the weight is still off. I don’t even have anyone to impress though since I’m married. I guess I can impress my wife but it’s about feeling good about myself.
Probably because as a woman, your value is mostly placed on your appearance in society. Though I'm not honestly sure which one is more difficult, having value placed on your appearance or needing to have money, power, social status, etc. It's probably the latter, but there are somethings about your appearance you can't change, well without surgery. (Some people are just ugly I guess.)
I’m 23, at the begging of September last year mid pandemic I hit a wall. I’d finally had enough of being over weight, after years of vast amounts of fad diets I decided I was going to do something proper about it, I was 323 pounds (5f 10) 9 months later I’m now 220 and still going, it’s been simple: calorie deficit, exercise and consistency. I’m not a ‘fat rights’ person at all, but what does kind of bother me is the lack of awareness of what it like to be a fat man. It’s all about women’s body’s. We struggle too, in denial fat women have the likes of tess holiday, who do men have ? Not that we need any of that healthy at any size bull shit but still. I think it speaks volumes in the differences between the way men and women are treated in today’s society.
UPDATE 3/24/2021
So 2020 turned out to be a real disaster (for everyone) and between quarantine, stress eating and other factors I ultimately gained a lot of weight back.
Update 04/07/2021
Okay so as of March 28th the weight is back down to 301.
Update 05/21/2021
Monday I hiked Rim to Rim at the Grand Canyon.
Thank you for the encouraging words!

the glorified idea of staying in shape for a woman is an anorexic girl .. lets be real -- the issue lies when women are hypocritical and start blaming men when they go ahead and treat each other differently
I think it's to do with how boys and girls are raised differently.
It's more of a shock for women when they get criticized, men are used to it.
I don't have statistics to back this up, but I assume that you're going off of personal anecdotes as well, so:
I and most girls I know were bullied for our looks and just bullied in general from a very young age.
Oh no I assure you women are quite used to being criticized, shamed and flat out abused.
If you compare men and woman on the same measurements for beauty overweight or bland woman are told they are pretty constantly were as men are told they have to lose weight or get haircut and get a real job.

season 5 of Orange Is The New Black had TWO comedy scenes of the female inmates raping male guards.

the season storyline is that there's been a riot for the prisoners take over, take all the guards hostage and there's a scene were all of the guards are stripped naked, FORCED to strip naked under threats of violence, and then the men are then raped with stuff up there arse.
and towards the end of the season, there's a scene were a guard is forced to finger these junkie girls.

Women complain about body shaming because it is a huge part of their value to men.
1 woke
1 First of all your wrong about validation. Any normal person wants some sort of validation from the opposite sex its only natural. Secondly, i think its wrong to fat shame but at the end of the day it is what it is. Men are attracted to a women's physical beauty primarily and women are attracted to a man's social status primarily. You dont hear men complaining about status shaming. The same way women flaunt their beauty men also flaunt their status.

It's because guys internalise it hence why we have a higher suicide rate
I agree
@Sideways G largely thanks to beauty standards set by the media they subjuect themselves to would be better

Some pro bodybuilders will do 45 minutes 6 times a week or less ON A CUT, let alone the rest of the time. Hey, do what makes you happy. But it sounds like your mother is pretty unkind to you.
Dude just control your diet better i do 3 hrs of weights training a day with controlled diet but like 3 hrs of cardio is insane
Lift weights and do anaerobic exercise (like sprinting) instead, cardio (as in constant aerobic running on a treadmill) is not as good as those. High Intensity Interval Training or HIIT is also great for stamina & strength.
João Mangalhão high intensity for short periods is not as good as low intensity for long periods for weight loss purposes
3 hours of cardio lmao
🤣 he’s right tho, when someone tells me I’m growing a gut, I look at it and go “shit, you’re right”
When my clothes doesn't fit or have an uncomfortable fit... It's time! Mirrors don't lie. Neither do clothes. Healthy diet, lots of water and proper workouts for me!

I saw Burnt Chrysler taking an Uber during the marathon. For real. I’ve got pics.

hes even rocking his most famous pants! i knew it!
why would a burned car be riding in another car?
My misses loves me for the way I am she's seen me with a good body n the body I currently have....I miss my old body because I looked pretty good but felt uncomfortable....I wish could be in better shape and could do it again but I'm content in how I look now....only a lil bit though...but Caroline loves me for me so I'll take that all day
I hope you have a good life😄 u ppl r really cute couple
Yet Joe says he doesn't like men's rights activism...
But are there any MEN who care that nobody cares?
here in the UK, men will pat their distended stomachs and proudly exclaim "All bought and paid for"! Put that in your pipe and smoke it feminists!
I think 'Womins' is a good phrase.... like the british anti feminist 'Wimmin'.
I get skinny shamed by my sister but when I bring up her weight she says I’m bullying her about her appearance. So skinny shaming is acceptable?
double standards
Ya no one cares about skinny dudes feeling lol trust me I know. Just laugh at em when they do it. Better than being fat
I'm on the other side of the spectrum, I got bullied all throughout my childhood for being the skinny guy. I was 5'10 130 soaking wet and was miserable all throughout highschool. People don't talk about that though.
Hey. Omw?
Yeah, same. But I started lifting and no one has said SHIT to me in about 7 years.
@@gattsuberserk4534 same bro! Started lifting senior year of high school and gained 30 lbs. Never felt better
Are there “mom bod” jokes?
I was once told I was thick with two c’s. I didn’t know if I should’ve been offended or thankful for the compliment. 😂😂
1:30 it's weird because this actually proves that it's not men or society that makes women ideally beautiful. The fact that the women get offended by fat shaming women and/or that the men don’t get upset about it proves that actually women DO want to be beautiful and the idealistic nature of beauty is innate in our being.
Fat shaming works, it's science
blkmrktgamer11 I read it,....in a book.
blkmrktgamer11 worked for me , I was a tubby little kid until I was about 12 and got sick and tired of being made fun of so I did something about it. It truly isn’t that hard to not put shit in your mouth 24/7
Fat shaming isn’t cool ... unless ur shaming a feminist.
Fat shaming doesn't work, at least for everyone. Fitness idealization is better imo
I don't think science is the right word
It’s crazy that we have broken the two hour mark in the marathon since this came out
You know that you are a Joe rogan fan if you are able to finish his sentence, I knew he'll say creature @0:47
*Is the problem that women have more pressure or that they are more vain?*
That question could eat itself...
Adam Ant
Both, I say. Men are admittedly visual. They search for porn. Even gay men only search for big penis porn. We are under pressure to look attractive. Women get off on books, right, things like trust and understanding turn women on.
Vain
Heather J'nel LOLOL trust and understanding haha.
Joe "dude..(silence).." Rogan
Men aren’t typically judged valued solely based on how they look whereas women are . I think that probably contributes
Because unlike men, what more do you have to offer than your looks to a man?
Nothing we can't get ourselves.
You objectify yourselves and then get mad at us for objectifying you lol.
Broly tha Dawg 👍
@@s.e.f8160 what more do women have to offer men than their looks?
You can do stuff for us but you can't give us anything we can't get ourselves

That’s good, let them be jealous since you’ve clearly come a long way and worked hard for it, props to you man that’s great 💪🏽

Well you're just some fucking weeb
Shut up weeb,...but I mean men are more opressed tho, but at least we know how to take it
Does anyone know what ep # this is so I can find the full ep on Spotify? They usually list it’s not here. Thanks.
Other guys: ur fat
Male response: I know, I gotta lose a few
Good, keep it that way. Don’t perpetuate the very fallacy you condemn. You’re unhealthy if you’re fat.
Men control this society. If we want to be loved then we need to be with men showing compassion. We have to be OK with men not being a cookie cutter guy.
No
No one should be shaming anyone for anything regardless of gender.
I was always pretty fit and muscular through highschool. After graduating I was overeating and got pretty fat. I recognized the problem and I am spending this summer fixing my problem
Did you fix the problem?
Anyone know what number episode this is?

- Arcade Fire "Creature Comfort"
I was at this marriage and I was talking to one of the best men (who is like a little overweight, I wouldn't go as far as to call him fat) and his lady. She compared him to me (I'm quite slim). Full on 'fat shaming' but obviously it is fine for her to talk to him about his physique but he can never say anything like that or its verbal abuse...
Men shame women for their weight but also women shame men for something biologically unchangeable Height Shaming. "oh he is so short hihihi" "he is so short like me, omg," "i do not believe you like this short guy" ,"this guy there looking at us...Stop looking at him he is short."
Do you want other examples ? These are words i heard from my experiences when i am near or inside girl's social circle, however, they do not reach males ears because women keep their secrets from fear which they call it "politeness". Shaming exists for one reason: to lower the self esteem of the other person and their reproductive value, because of jealousy, insecurity, to feel superior, unsuccessful personal actions. Everyone does it from time to time but we have to evaluate the shaming, why we do it, how this distorts and distracts us from our better expectations/achievements.
Women shame men for being overweight or short.
@@sarithajagajith6568 overweight is acceptable to an extent
Korri Galbraith eat whatever you want just do 150 minutes of exercise every day your golden.
I may be 2 years late but I think most can agree with what imma bout to say
So the idea of “body shaming” and what not I think is when your outright just bullying someone for appearance
What is mistaken for body shaming is when like let’s a dude likes fit women, the man likes what he likes and shouldn’t be ashamed of it, it is his opinion that is not body shaming. That can also be reversed if the dude like bigger girls. It’s whatever you like.
Either way you get the idea
People are even more sensitive now than 2 years ago.. Makes me not even wanna try and meet new ppl 🤷🏻♀️not worth the hassle that could come of it
And you’re right, some dudes just don’t like fat chicks..some don’t like skinny chicks..(reverse it with fellas)
I see these clips and Joe is always talking about some really good shit
That's a good point. Whenever I hear about fat shaming I automatically think it's about a woman. I was teased mercilessly for being out of shape, now I hit the gym 4x a week.
I lost over 50 lbs at the age of 38 and I’m 42 now and the weight is still off. I don’t even have anyone to impress though since I’m married. I guess I can impress my wife but it’s about feeling good about myself.
This is SO TRUE. I honestly think this is because of the differential between male and female sensitivity and mental toughness
giteausuperstar Not true. If men were mentally tougher they wouldn't commit suicide twice as often as women.
What episode is this from? and who are they talking about?
"Men aren't fat. Only fat women are fat."
- Peter Griffin
Lol hahaha
Probably because as a woman, your value is mostly placed on your appearance in society. Though I'm not honestly sure which one is more difficult, having value placed on your appearance or needing to have money, power, social status, etc. It's probably the latter, but there are somethings about your appearance you can't change, well without surgery. (Some people are just ugly I guess.)
Nobody ever body shamed the "natives" in National Geographic !
“They can’t break 2 hours”, mo Farrah is laughing rn
